The PLACE served the best sundubu jigae!!!! Tofu soup- best in Auckland !!!! It’s really a hidden gem !!! My fav Korean place now!THEIR STIR fried dishes are legit too!! Must try !!!!
Come here if you are for amazing Korean food on the Shore. Everything that I tried was pretty good but the dishes that I recommend is the bibimbap and definitely their fried chicken. Fried chicken was super crispy and juicy.

Beautiful beautiful authentic Korean food. Also family friendly. Competition on North Shore for Korean restaurants are fierce and this one is one of the best. Huge food selections from the menu, and fried chicken are fabulous. Central location in Takapuna. Heaps parking spaces front or the back. Most parking are free after 6pm. They open days. We were there for dinner on a Sat night. The place is always packed so booking is recommended if you are dining during peak hours. The 3 lady stuff worked really fast and hard, cleaning and turning tables around, friendly with smiles when taking orders. Kitchen is also fast so waiting time is minimal after you placed the order. Serving size is large but you can take away if unable to finish on spot. Highly recomended for a visit if you are Korean Food lover or wanting to try it out.

Rated top 50 cheap eats and Korean restaurant, but it is somewhat average. My kimchi stew was wayy too overloaded with super soggy cabbage. The side dishes were alright but the cheese corn was pretty good ! service was super friendly!
Really good food and portions for the price, and staff are nice. Only downfall is the atmosphere, very basic compared to some other restaurants in Takapuna at similar price points. However I would still recommend checking The Place out if your looking for a good meal. I suggest the bibimbap either hot or cold :)

I came here with three of my friends and we ordered 7 different kinds of food. (I only took some photos of 굴보쌈)
They seemed quite surprised that we ordered a lot because apparently 굴보쌈 itself is already for four people (Maybe that's why the price seemed like it's for four people as well haha). The food itself was nice but to be honest, I don't think the portion was that generous. I would say it's just for two people. The taste was great anyways. All the other dishes were nice as well.
No wonder why this place is popular. I will probably come back when I can afford it. Haha...
Was recommended this place by a friend and it didn't disappoint. Price is reasonable for amount of food you get and all dishes were tasty. The side dishes were OK, not the best we've had but understand they change from time to time when ingredients and produce are seasonal. Will come again for more.
Awesome shop. The speed at which food comes out from the kitchen despite the shop being packed. Great speed, on top of quality taste.

I went to The Place with my wife for lunch. I couldn't take a picture of the main menu. We ordered a spicy soup it calls Budaejjige and it was so delicious. Unfortunately, I'm posting a picture of a seafood pancake here. It's a real fresh seafood pancake. I strongly recommend this delicious restaurant to everyone.
It was busy when we reached there but food was served quick. Plenty of dishes to choose from and they were tasty.
This place was sooooo good! We got the beef bone soup, the kimchi stew with pork, and the hot stone bibimbap.
The portions were generous for the price, and all delicious. The broths for both the soup were rich and flavoursome, and all the meat was tender. The kimchi itself was great too. No feedback for the bibimbap as that was perfect.
Staff were nice and attentive! I’ll definitely be back!

It truly deserves to be called "THE place" amongst all the other "places" that exist.
We've been coming back here again and again and it never disappoints. Came on a Sunday night, place was packed but luckily we'd booked a table. Got garlic soy fried chicken with extra tteok for the kids. They loved it and said they wanted it every time we came. The adults ordered the oden pot to share which was looking very and warming without being heavy. Also had the pork belly with oyster kimchi -absolutely delicious and worth the splurge.
We'll keep coming back.
Only reason service didn't get full points is that they were too busy and got a bit confused with a couple of things (and the table was a bit small for our assortment of dishes lol)
I ate Yukhoe and others for lunch. They were awesome!!
The pork ssam with the kimchi is the best! The music is a little loud... but who cares?! The food is great...
