Friendly staffs, spacious cool dining area. Food tastes alright and crayfish dish was more than enough for 2 people as it was served with a bunch of chips - it was more like a "Chips with Crayfish Garnish". Can't say it was a good plating... it rather made us less appetizing. There's no need to order any extra chips/salad. We ordered extra salad which we couldn't even touch because we were so full after crayfish sharing dish & tiger prawn. However not bad for its price. Won't order any other large plate or side if I visit again for another crayfish.
This place is great! I had the snapper fish and chips today which was super fresh and the batter the best I have had in a long time. We often go here when we have our children with us as it is quick and child friendly. The only negative is that the tables get a bit grubby otherwise it couldn't get any better.
I love the idea that you can choose your own fish and they cook it the way you like it to be.
We got 2 pieces of snapper and one pack of fresh raw fish.
It cost us $8 for two pieces of snapper
$12 pack of fresh fish
They charge us $5 to cook our fish.
We ask them to deep fry our snapper.
All the sauces are there to take, including wasabi and soy sauce for free.

I hadn't tried Market Cafe before - mostly because, even though I love fish, there was always a fishy smell wafting through. This seems to have improved a lot & they have also appear to have changed the layout getting rid of a lot of the deli area which gives more room.
Decided to stop off for lunch & try their salad option as I'd heard lots about it. Was pleasantly surprised with the range, quality & value.
They offer three sizes - the medium is a very decent size & only $6.90. The choices are vast & you can choose several - around 9 options ranging from vegetarian to seafood & chicken. All ingredients fresh & tasty. I chose 3 - the prawn with edamame & avocado, pumpkin pinenut & feta, and the quinoa & cherry tomato. Yum!
They also have a range of hot seafood including prawn twisters & other crumbed seafood served in little containers ready to eat in or takeaway.
Coffee made fresh on site is good - didn't find it bitter at all.
Service was good - a new person on the register was friendly & well supported.
Great to have a cafe refresh itself & have some tasty, good value lunch options on offer. Certainly gives other local businesses some strong competition.
Great fresh fish but very noisy and the service, althiugh friendly, is somewhat chaotic. They messed up an order, Great choice of fish but limited vege options.
I enjoyed my time eating here. The staff was friendly and having to sit outside on a summer day is just perfect. Its in a perfect location in the Quarter. Cant wait to come back during summer.
My partner and I came with grab one coupon. The food and wine was great for 45 bucks. Staff was quite warm, especially Hussain. I enjoyed the warm and ambience atmosphere on a cold winter night
I just had breakfast here with the family..loved the atmosphere and decor. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming. It was nice getting in from the cold Saturday weather. We ordered eggs benedict and the big breakfast and it was scrumptious! Great start to our day!
We had brunch here, having eggs benedict with salmon, and pan fried snapper with salad and sauteed potatoes. Our meals were really tasty, and the eggs bene was beautiful! The surroundings were average, but the meals made up for it. Good coffee and smoothies too!
Situated inside the popular Auckland Fish Market, if you're having a lazy summer's weekend (or any day really); this is one of the many places to go for brunch followed by a chilled walk along the viaduct (maybe even shopping in the CBD). The coffee is supplied by Bach Coffee, food is prepared to a good standard (especially the seafood). Loved the hot smoked salmon - normally not a fan of hot smoke either!

Had a seafood platter for $120, great selection and better value than buying each separate dish for 4 people. Basically all you need to order as well as a few drinks from the bar right across the tables on the other side outside. Nice to enjoy the sunshine and even a Waitangi Day show with dancers and drummers
Cheap and fresh seafood. Nice oysters & sashimi
Congratulations on an excellent upgrade.
The fresh seafood kiosk is well complemented by the new food court which serves seafood themed meals. Judging by the crowds, it's a success already.
Roll on the Wynyard Quarter redevelopment and the Americas Cup Challenge!
· Located inside the Auckland Fish Market it is the go to place for buying or eating seafood and has the following: - Ocean to Table, Courtyard, Deli, Sushi, Fresh Fish, Grocery, Smoke House, Corporate Functions, Wine Experience.
Food court is brilliant for groups... bar on hand. Great for a Friday lunch
One of best FishnChjps in Auckland CBD..Crispy and Fresh
Good atmosphere and kid friendly, food is all quite pricey though.
Great vibe. Loads of choice from the multiple food vendors. And a bar. :)
good service and good food\.
