A Cantonese eatery well known for their herbal soups.
Ordered a quail herbal soup, warm and well stewed.
The beef congee tasted average, and the beef wasn’t very tender. The pork feet was delicious, very well marinated and the skin was super tender.
Good service, average cleanliness.

This small eatery features Cantonese wellness soup. The classic soup recipes usually come with some rare herbs and odd ingredients for diet therapy. They pay attention to the function of the ingredients rather than the taste or seasoning.
(That's why other dishes are just bland and ordinary. )
Pretty great place, a bit small in terms of seating area but really authentic and cheap. Bought a big bowl of noodles for only $5.50. Great place for desserts or just grabbing a cheap meal. Would recommend.
Very authentic old school family restaurant. Not suited for everyone's taste and a very aged store, but if traditional home made remedies that as a second generation Chinese has no idea how to make, but loves to eat, I would definitely suggest this.
If the premise makes you uncomfortable, take away is an option too!
Small shop, service so,so. If your not used to Chinese traditional cuisine don't come here it might freak you out a little. Love this place for its unusual healthy soups for all sorts of reasons. Has small wooden traditional stools and tables. Can be hard to find a Carpark and waiting is worth it. The food price is reasonable and the food is yummy! Wish i took photos. Love the chicken bone broth.
One of my fav place for years. I used to visit every week before moving over the shore. Everything in the store is truly authentic old school Cantonese. They are all very home made. I love all their soup, there were other Cantonese soup store around but none of them can out done Guangzhou soup shop so far. The pepper pig stomach soup has to be the winter fav of mine well also my then boyfriend now husband. We also liked the dessert and sweet soups and the stew beef on rice noodles. Us Cantonese can't live without soup, this place felt like home. Even the guy with not much service, because that really is the kind of service you usually get at small food outlets in Guangzhou 😂.
We tried meal, sweet soup and dessert many times. We like them, especially milk custard with white egg. The sweet soup with papaya and pear is amazing. The soup they offer is healthy for you. And the price is very decent.
This place offers homely food for a very decent price when you're looking for a snack or casual meal. Luckily they have an english menu for those of us with minimal chinese reading skills. They also open till late (11pm) which makes it great for those late night cravings. I usually get their daily soup and their thousand year egg and salty pork congee which comes in a huge bowl (enough for 2-3 people). Their various nutritional stews are also yum for when you're feeling in need of a pick-me-up.
This is one of my favourite places to eat. It’s cheap, simple and healthy.
Soup you can buy for about 2-3 dollars. Hot meals are all relatively cheap, under 10 dollars.
I also like there beef briscuit with rice.
It's hard to find out any other regimen food restaurant on Dominion Road like there. They offer a wide range of cold nourishing dessert, hot nourishing soup and stew dishes. I nearly tried all cold dessert items there. Because average price is only $ 2.50 each, why not try them all? Braised pork totter and egg with ginger and black vinegar is also one of my favorite dishes there. Very good for skin and rich of nutrition.
This place is known for healty Guang Dong stewed dishes. I've been here twice. One thing that really stood out to me is egg custurd. Strongly recommend it.
Love this place! Been going here with my parents since i was small and the food is just so homey. we got the milk and ginger one as a dessert after having dinner on dominion road and it was just the perfect dessert. I find it really helpful that the menu also mentions what each dessert is good for. the one i ordered is good for complexion and it was so yum!! totally recommend for anyone who’s in the area!
Excellent food, and they are served fairly quickly. All the soups have health or medication benefits, we always go when we have a cough or something. Very fairly priced too.
Traditional canton soup, very delicious. The price is affordable and it’s a quite good choice for one or two people to enjoy a healthy simple meal.
A favourite since childhood, Guang Zhou Soup Shop makes traditional Cantonese soups, teas, and desserts that preserves and replicated (if not beats!) the traditional foods served in small, family-owned soup shops in Hong Kong and Guangdong. It’s amazing that Auckland has such a restaurant. The mains are also greatly priced at $12 for rice dishes. Highly recommend!
Average atmosphere though authentic. However desserts and soups are surely a must try
The soup was delicious and nutritious, Ginger Milk custard was delightful.
Authentic canton shop. Very yummy dishes with special focus on soups. Don't forget to try desserts.
Very nourishing doubled boiled herbal soups. Not too salty but tasty. Great for health and for confinement food. Portion not large but lots of herbs used. Nice rustic ambience. Good service.
Highly recommend the cake roll, only $5 for two slices, and they taste so good😌
We come here mainly for their dessert. It was a very small restaurant. Typical of a Chinese Restaurant but pretty crowded at times. There were different types of dessert. They tasted good. We like it especially after a meal. We still come here occasionally.

Their dessert price is really reasonable and a good place to chill after dinner ☺️ they have variety of soups, Cantonese desserts(taste better if they heat it up for you), and some other main rice dishes as well. Also, they have many options for porridge, service was alright (depends on the person serving). Too bad their menu was all in Chinese only.
Good food good price good service. if you like Cantonese soup and you shall definitely visit this place.
Good place to eat , have a try 😋 and four dessert
Fantastic food, reasonable prices. Menu photos attached.
I had a brunch with my girl in this tiny, old-school restaurant on 19 July 2020. Hey guys, is it normal that a girl always gets up so late, and need an hour to do the make-up?
We ordered soup—which proved a wrong choice as chicken was dull and the taste was almost none; Fish congee was yummy, inexpensive with a large portion, enough for two people; The desserts were good and authentic. It was a good experience overall speaking and we are happy to come back.
