That really hit the spot! I had the Noodles simmered with Flat Beans. Big portion, tastes homemade. I'll be back again for the rest of the menu.
I came here early in the morning while I was waiting for a store to open. They had friendly staff and service. Pies were the readily available option, I chose the chicken & cabbage. It was delicious, tasted like a fried dumpling. The filling was seasoned well and good portion. I will try the beef pie next.
I had the noodles with special gravy sauce (打鹵面). The portion was much bigger than I expected and tasted homemade. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Tucked away on the corner. This eatery has many items on their menu, specialty would be noodles, dumplings and baos. They so great dumplings and only $13 for 20 pieces. Their homemade baos are quite popular and pretty cheap too, between $1-2. Friendly staff.
Wide range of Northern Chinese noodle and rice options along with some snack favourites including the crepes and donuts.
Food comes out pretty fast. Quality of noodles is good. Lots of flavour and portions of noodles are huge! Very good value!
Definitely a place for comfort food and to get a taste of home.
I ordered the cold soba noodles with beef and egg. The noodles were nice and chewy, refreshing in contrast to the heat of the kimchi. Fresh cucumber and boiled egg completed the dish which I enjoyed very much
I come here a lot during my lunch break, great value for money.
I don’t speak a word of Chinese, but the staff know me by my face, and start my order when they see me.
I usually get the spicy chicken noodle soup, sometimes with a side of their tasty pork & chive pies.
Comfort food.
TL;DR: Big servings for a decent price. Great for those on a budget. Recommended: Beef noodles (small)
Came here on a rainy afternoon with a friend. Here's how it went:
Food:
Both my friend and I ordered the Noodle Soup with Beef (small one). My god, look at the photo down below - it's not what I expected for something labelled 'small'. The serving size was huge, and we couldn't finish all of it even on an empty stomach.
Taste wise, the soup was flavourful and full of beef flavour. I think it would taste a whole lot better with some chili, which I didn't manage to find around at their sauce area for some reason. Some pieces of the beef were really tender, while others were dry or fatty. I think it really just comes down to luck as to which pieces end up in yours.
The handmade noodles were okay in my opinion - being handmade, some noodles were thicker than others and so were undercooked compared to others. It's not that big of a deal, except for the fact that you may encounter a harder noodle here and there.
Overall I do recommend this dish for both its price and flavour :)
The other items on the menu look and sound delicious as well, so will definitely be back one day to give something else a go.
Service:
Ladies at the counter are really nice - it does help if you speak Chinese to speed things up too. Our noodles came out really quickly (about two to three minutes) but were nice and hot. Great if you're in a rush and need lunch ASAP!
No comments about ambiance because it's situated in a food court - expect typical food court ambiance.
This place is definitely an experience, even in a food court. There appears to be at least three different menus. I am unsure whether everything they sell is even listed on a menu.
There is not a lot of order with ordering. You need to catch the attention of a busy staff member and hope they can hear you over other customers shouting orders at them. Most of the people shouting orders seem to leave with supermarket bags full of steamed buns.
I ordered noodle soup with beef. For $9.00 the portion was huge, I couldn't finish it for lunch, but more importantly it was delicious. Now I know how to order at this crazy place, I will be back.
The food is prepared quickly (always within 10 -15 minutes the times I've been there sometimes 2-3 minutes if its a "ready" dish), filling and reasonably cheap - fits in well with a student's budget. Particularly recommend their cold noodles (for Summer). The food is simple but tastes pretty good. The girl at the counter there is awesome and speaks very good English too which helps :) This place has never to date gotten my order wrong which a few other Chinese food establishments have in the past (that I shall not name)... anyways kudos to girl at the Master Chef Kitchen counter!
This place offers a wide range of northern Chinese style wheat flour food with reasonable price. To me, there is a joyful place to feel the real taste of my hometown. Both noodle in soup dishes and steamed items are my favorite.
Carb Attack!!
Finishing up an meeting around the area, I was ridiculously hungry and really wanting something with a lot of carbs.
Coming into The Atrium, Masterchef Kitchen is fantastic for value and satisfaction of your carbo needs. I had a Chinese pancake and jian bing for $7.50.....$7.50! Filling and tasty, this is an absolute bargain!
In honesty, it's not the best I've had but the value-for-money doesn't really get any better than this in the Auckland CBD area.
Showstopper: The chinese pancake had plenty of flavour and at $3 a pop, you can't really go wrong.
Overall Grade: B. I'm keen to come back to try more!!
Haven't tried their main dishes but their chinese burgers aren't too bad. Come in a few different flavours, pork and cabbage, beef and onion etc for around the $4-5 mark. Won't fill you up but tasty, not too greasy and a good snack if you're after something quick without being too heavy on the wallet.
Tried them a few times and they're always pretty decent!
One of my favourite dingey Chinese food places
I always thought it looked a bit gross and always wondered why so many people were ordering from it
now I know
I always crave shangxi cold noodles
They are thick 2cm thick noodles with Chili oil cucumbers and tofu bits

today I had the cold noodles with chicken (spicy)

one of my favourite places I go when I want a cheap meal

SOOO GOOD I have change my rating from a 4.5 to a 5/5!

kinda a bit oily but you can taste the wok
The taste of the super hot wok and charredness
YUM
I really like Bebop, I recommend trying the BBQ bulgogi & The Gourmet Thai. They have really tasty food. Also, Spice of Indian is okay, I suggest trying the chole bhatura.
Foodcourt in the heart of CBD Auckland. I loved the noodle soup of Nam-viet stall it was awesome. And the staff are very polite and friendly.
The pork and dumplings at the master chef kitchen a Chinese restaurant are really palatable but staff are a bit stiff they are not friendly and they don’t know how to interact with the customers.
The whole food court is clean even the toilets are maintained clean all the time. But they close at 5pm or 5:30pm too early for those who are working and wants to eat Asian food in the area.
I really like Bebop, I recommend trying the BBQ bulgogi & bibimbop

The international food court is number 1 go to place for our family when catching up in auckland together. The food is delicious - especially try the whole steamed snapper with steamed rice from 'the gourmet thai.' The environment is pleasant, welcoming and relaxing. Love the atmosphere & location of the Atrium.
