LOVE the butter chicken & assortment of naan breads. The staff were very nice & accomodating. Go-to for a late night eat in Mission Bay. Serving of rice is smaller than expected but other than that, great food here.
Yesterday Reached by chance but great experience. Food was really delicious veg as well as non-veg. We ordered chicken tikka masala in starter which was yummy and chutney was delicious. In main course we ordered achari chicken and paneer tikka masala and both were so nice in taste. One of staff member suggested more dishes and will definitely go there again to taste that. Great experience on Indian taste in New Zealand
We visit this restaurant from time to time and it serves one the best Indian food there is .We had ordered. Kadai chicken(4/5), Chicken bhuna(2/5), palak paneer(4/5) (my friend had ordered it and she liked it very much), butter naan(5/5), Cheese naan(5/5), Mango lassi(5/5) . Once of their starter dish planner tikka masala (10/10) was to die for.
What a nice restaurant, one of the best kept secrets in Auckland , the best flavours I have tasted any where in New Zealand .The chef is very good as the recipe is very authentic, amazing customer service, a great venue overlooking the beach. I highly recommend ... A++++
I went after a long time and food was actually good! The staff was good and seemed like they knew what they were doing, definitely new faces!! Service was good! Loved it thankyou
Went here for my mates 21st , the food was solid 🤙🏽 😊 and definitely a vibrant place. Loved how the dishes came out in a unique display if that makes sense 😂 lol.
The moment i entered the restra it gave me a feel of old masala L however so much has changed in terms of service , decor and a little bit on menu side. The food is nice as ever and service is quick. Come here very often for their lunch or drinks/dinner with group.
I couldn’t found any good indian restaurant and i was craving alot for indian food so i ended up here. I just love the food we ordered tandoori chicken in starters it was perfectly baked and taste tooo good. In main course we ordered butter paneer masala which was just wooow. Butter naan wAs also fresh and crispy. I loved this place, it’s ambiance and its service.
Very classy and elegant place to dine in, nice polite staff, food was very rich in flavors, burst of goodness in each bite... the starters were the best part, chicken and lamb dishes were mind blowing... wasn’t happy with the drinks... in all honestly paid over 12 bucks for orange juice and vodka and all I can taste was water and oj.. apart from the drinks part everything was on point 👍
Went for dinner to Mehfil and enjoyed one of the best Indian meals that I have had in Auckland. The starters were the highlight for me - absolutely mouthwatering! The service was fantastic and staff very friendly. Overall an extremely pleasing experience. Would definitely recommend and as for me will visit regularly.
Food was quite good. Customer service was great until the end when they forgotten about our takeaways and prolly thrown out. Price is ok for the area. Ambiance is good. Annoying part is the music which can be little loud and poor selection of music. Would recommend the chef’s special.
The best and authentic taste of Manchurian you can ever had in town. The service was really very good and quick. The staff was really very friendly.
Best food n service in town. Staff is very helpful n friendly.
Always suggest what to order according to our taste. Best chicken items in town..
Amazing Indian food I've ever had in Auckland. Nice ambience, food and service. Also, staff were friendly. Must Visit Place!!!! The portion size of food can be improved.

Highly recommended!!! All my friends love it too x
Only feedback to give is, I hope u guys serve rice separately or be consistent with the portion of rice as for 1 or 3 person y'all give the same amount and charge us for extra rice 😭
We went early on a Wednesday night and had the $10 mains. The food and service was amazing. Super quick and friendly. Couldnt believe how good of a deal we were getting!
Having food and sheesha at #mehfil. Awesome service, co-operative staff, delicious food love to visit again😋💯. @Abby girish @Macarinia @Catalina and Gurri sandhu
Excellent service and organizing for birthday group consisting of 24 people. Food was excellent and definitely value for money on their $10 evening meal deal. Staff only too happy to assist with organization of function. A memorable occasion for all who attended. No hiccups, everything flowed smoothly. Thank you! Mehfil Indian Restaurant, for a wonderful Birthday celebration. Bonus having a liquor license and beautiful venue, with sea views on Auckland's Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay. We are always pleased with your service and will definitely continue to patronize your restaurant. Rating A+++. Thank you for making it a memorable and enjoyable occasion for all.

Came here for $10 lunch special. Good value for money. Quite friendly staff. The only I don't like is my papadum wasn't crispy at the middle. So wonder how long it has been made.
Food was great but the service was not that good. Maybe because they are not paying their staff members enough or they dont have enough staff to handle all the customers in their restaurant and bar
this is my first visited indian restaurant in auckland.. i was really satisfied with the tasty food and a good service.. nice location.. u can see beach from above and enjoy the breeze.. we ordered one starter having curd and crispy chat that was amazing..!
One of the good Indian restaurants in Auckland.
Had Dal Makhni with Garlic naan and steamed rice. Liked all of it. Must say that Dal Makhni was prepared in the typical authentic style.
Sat in the balcony, so the view added to the enjoyment of eating. Overall good decor and nice ambience.
The staff is friendly and cooperative, extra points for them.
Not a typical indian food joint. It has one of the best views compared to other restaurants. They have $10 lunch menu which works fairly well, Rogan Josh is outstanding however their mehfil special curry was sweet unfortunately even when I had ordered red-hot. Onion bhaji was average but Chicken Tikka takes away the cake for sure- the chef knows what he is doing out here.
While we were leaving noticed there was a lounge room which had hookah and bar - looked like a great section to book for get together. Staff was very friendly and attentive.Overall it's a must must go.
Straight 5 from us guys everything was perfect, awesome service the food wow mmmm the butter chicken recipe please haha, perfect spot for your romantic dinner date will defiantly be back guys
We went here for a friend's surprise birthday party. It was a last minute decision to throw a surprise party for her and the staff were very accomodating. In such a short notice (less than 3 hours) they arranged everything beautifully. Service was lovely! The food was great with amazing flavours. Will definitely go back for dinner sometime soon.
The restaurant is very nice; the interior and the exterior is presented well, although most of the tables outside had a bit of bird faeces. The customer service was kind, and it was great of them to check up on us once we had gotten our meal, and coming to the end of our meal. The prices are very affordable, especially for students that want to dine out, and I definitely will be going back.
This review is for Mehfil in Botany where we experienced nice food but terrible service. We made a booking for 10 people so imagine our surprise when we show up and they expected us to be split among two enclosed booth seats (so you couldn't see people in the next booth) which is totally impractical considering we were a family celebrating a birthday and order a lot of dishes for sharing. Their solution was to make up a table in the entrance way which was quick thinking on their part but absolutely freezing! Every time a customer walked in, a cold gust of wind would hit us which was really unpleasant for the older members of the family. There was also no overhead lighting as this was not an area customers would usually sit in, making it so dark we could barely read the menu. In addition to this, there was a 21st party going on upstairs in the function room with really loud music. We had to shout over the noise to have a conversation and we were constantly distracted by party goers coming up and down the stairs next to us. The food itself was very nice; however, we had to keep trying to get the wait staff's attention for basic things like cutlery and water on the table. I will try Mehfil again but my advice to them is to not overbook your restaurant to make that little bit of extra money. Customers who make bookings should be your priority - it was obvious our table would have been given to walk-ins. And most importantly, you need to advise people of a function with that level of noise!
Good food and service. Went with my Indian friends, they said it's quite authentic. Stunning views. Great lunch value. I think I will be going again.
Called in here on Thursday 29 October 2015 for lunch. Have been here loads of times in the past. Love the setting up stairs over looking the magnificent Mission Bay and great value lunch menu - $10.00 and that comes with main, rice, nann, and drink. I had the Saagwala Paneer - a lovely spinach and cottage cheese dish - great if you need a veg booster. They use to be under the Masala name.
I was craving Indian food and so we came here after work! It was actually a pretty early dinner (5:30pm) but I was absolutely starving.
Someone greeted us at the door and gave us the option of sitting inside or outside. We sat inside and were given our menus. The service throughout was actually great, the waiters were attentive and we were asked whether things were going okay about two times during our meal.
We ordered a mango lassi to start, which was nice but I wish had been a bit colder especially on a hot afternoon!
We ordered a tandoori platter for two for our entree, and for our mains we ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and a garlic naan. Our entree was so so good. It was very flavourful but I actually enjoyed all the different meats in the platter. We ate it embarrassingly fast but I HAVE NO REGRETS IT WAS SO GOOD. I was actually almost half full by the time our mains came along (service was quite fast) and we didn't manage to finish everything. The tikka masala with the naan was very nice! But we didn't touch the plain white rice (apart from a few spoonfuls) because we had biryani.
Overall, I'd definitely come back again! They're quite newly opened (in the place of Masala) so they haven't gotten their liquor license yet and I feel as though their staff are still getting the hang of working in hospo. So far so good though! Would love to come back.
Namaste Jewel of India !
Food was really good. Tomato puree flavor in chicken curry was awesome. not very spicy that's the good part about it.
It's good to see that restaurant is not merely showing the picture of Taj Mahal to represent the Indian jewel .
Overall the staff was courteous, hospitable and sweet. Punjabi guy had the enthu to make sure the service is good and made sure that I liked it or if something was to be added.
Overall on ambience, I do feel there were a lot of tables packed in for seating capacity. Music was old Bollywood instrumental, nice music.
All in all a good experience to have th food, fill in and go to enjoy a stroll and sunset on the beach.
Cheers jewel of India.
And yea, one last thing - there was no WiFi password shared. Which is a let down in today's age.
It was awesome dinner on my birthday night . I went first time. It was very tasty food & very good service by staff.
Definitely my favourite Indian Restaurant and arguably my favourite restaurant in general. I recommend the banquet to anyone that wants to experience a little bit of everything. For those who are interested in playing it a bit safer the butter chicken and mango chicken are incredible. Can’t wait to my next meal there.
This is my favourite local Indian restaurant, for both take away and dine in. The food is yummy, I often customise my dishes and they are always happy to accommodate for it. Staff is friendly and efficent with food served on time.
I came to this restaurant after so many years. Loved the ambience, staff & food. Definitely recommended in Mission Bay.
Very small restaurant but the quality of food is best .... Tasty and delicious. Great quality. Nice sitting of chairs. Very competitive prices compared to near costly Indian restaurant. I would love to go again.
Loved everything about this restaurant. The location, staff and environment was amazing. Definently one of the best India restaurants I've tried. Price was very reasonable as well. Would definitely visit again.
Delicious, delicious, delicious! Nothing else to add. Food is fantastic, service is great. Can be a little noise during busy dinner service, but nothing to worry.
Each time we are there, I forgot to take pictures because I can't stop myself for a minute. Everything is very good.
Service is great too.
A bit average really. They need to pick up their presentation, waiter served us in jeans! Need to dim those bright lights as well to better the atmospher. I had Goan Fish Curry and couldn't eastlish any fish taste and the pieces of fish were tiny!
We got a delivery a few months ago and... wow! The food was authentic, very tasty, and was still hot when delivered from Mission Bay to CBD. We thought it would be our go-to Indian takeaway after that, but it lost a star because the quality and portions since then have been pretty inconsistent. Avoid on Saturday nights.
Very tasty! Everything was nice and had decent flavor and a good amount of heat for a medium tikka masala. But, the tikka masala didn't have much depth of flavor--it mostly tasted of tomato and not much else. That said, I'd still recommend this for Indian in the area. It's also a great value--wine, a starter, curry, and naan was about $32 for one person.
We went to this amazing restaurant and it was a fabulous experience the service was great, the food was delicious. we ordered bhuna lamb, sahi paneer and chicken kolhapuri. Me and my family had a great time there. Highly recommend if you want an authentic indian cuisine.
Excellent food. Authentic potato curry love it. Nice and clean restaurant with good staff.
These guys do one of the best Biryani dishes around. Always consistently yummy, as are most of their other dishes. Just a tip - “medium” spice level is more like hot - very hot sometimes (and my husband can handle his spice!).
