Hands down the best lamb saag ive ever had. Naan bread is well done and not doughy, whilst not being too crispy, the bhaji is so much better than anywhere else I've been.
The only thing I can fault them on is if you want medium, order hot. if you want hot, order Indian hot, you'll probably still get medium though.
I tried red chilli tonight for the first time since the previous owners .
I was greeted by very friendly staff .
I always judge a place by the simple things first . The popadoms , and samosa were hand made and absolutely delicious . The hand made effort ,shows extra care in their food . I tried , tandoori chicken , butter chicken and chicken maglai . All were delicious :). Very generous servings . I will defiantly be a regular again . Thanks.
Delicious - that naan with crispy base and soft top drizzled with butter - amazing. Unfortunately they ran out of lamb biriyani that night but I ordered a lamb rogan josh and had no regrets - was delicious with tender melt in your mouth meat. I also love the chilli potatoes as a starter. Tried the butter chicken, butter lamb and another lamb dish and they were all great. Highly recommend. Service was super friendly too. If you go I suggest you park on one of the side streets across the road from Red Chilli since there is no parking outside generally. I believe all mains are massively discounted on Tuesday - Thursday? Not sure of the days but around 10 dollars for a main including rice. Check it out!
The food and service was great here. Was extremely impressed with my meal - starter of honey chilli potatoes was crazy good, butter lamb was deliciously spiced and generous, presented in a small copper bucket, cheese naan was super fresh and soft and cheesy, rice was light and fluffy and generous and the mango lassi was super mangoey, although I would have preferred it to be colder. We dined in so also got some poppadoms that were really nicely spiced. They played popular Bollywood music videos which was cool too. Great prices for great food - definitely would recommend. Let's help get this hidden gem into the limelight.
Excellent staff, great food and value. An appetizer chili crispy potatoes was superb, friendly staff and cool decor. We were on holidays in New Zealand from US and our local driver highly recommended it.
Literally the best indian! So reasonably priced, lovely service, delicious authentic tasting flavours and generous portions. Have eaten in and takeaway and both are great. Definitely our new local!
Takeaways last Thursday night, walked in rather than calling as we're out and about. Only took about 20 minutes and the food was very tasty and very generous servings, will be back
I've only ordered delivery curries from this restaurant under the current ownership but have dined here many times over a decade under it's various incarnations. The food was delivered just on time, and the delivery man was friendly, polite and spoke good english.
Because their prices are so cheap they have obviously chosen to simplify the ingredients in the curries on offer. I ordered a Butter Chicken (which I usually do as a default test option for a restaurant I have not tried before) and although the level of spicyness was what I expected for "hot" the sauce itself seemed to only consist of tomato puree/paste and spices. There was clearly no cream or ghee added, and it was dissapointing in its simplicity. There was a reasonable amount of good quality meat though. The onion bhaji was average, and a bit overcooked also.
I'll have to try dining in sometime and see if the dishes are always so simplistic in texture and taste.
Had dinner here with a bunch of co-workers, the service was good the food was excellent and I don't have to walk out with an empty wallet !!!!
Me and my friends were looking for a place to eat and we thought we would give this one a try and oh my were we impressed ! It might not be a restaurant you've heard alot about as i haven't seen much advertising for it either but their food was superb.. every dish was cooked to perfection and we were definitely made feel at home with warm service. We will surely visit again and recommend to all :)
These guys know what they are doing. Lots of fresh flavours and different spices that make their curries stand out. We live nearby and go there often, so we've tried lots of dishes. All superb. Also, they are really friendly. Definitely worth going out of your way for.
If you're keen to try a new Indian place, I highly suggest Grace of India. We decided to go down and check it out as it's new - just recently opened. We were pretty much blown away. First off - the service. Amazing. Really friendly, attentive, and quick. Secondly - the food. This was - no joke - one of the best indian meals I have ever had. The meat was so flavorsome, beautifully cooked, the naan bread was light and fluffy but still chewy and delicious without being stodgy and too thick. Very very impressed. I can happily give this place 5 stars and say it's going to become a favorite local.
Me and my friends made a spontaneous stop to give this new restaurant a try and we were pleasantly surprised ! The food was amazing and warm service to go with it. We are all regulars now! Highly recommended :)
Go Indian Cuisine serves, without a doubt, the best Indian food in all of Auckland. It is flavourful, nicely presented and very cheap considering the portions.
However, the main attraction, of course, is the infamously revered chef - the assured Raj Kapoor of Kiwi-Indian cuisine, only matched closely by the likes of Khanna or Bhatia.
This incredibly wise, considerate and honourable man is out here keeping it real with ya'll, maintaining them visionary nouvelle Satantango vibes in the restaurant hard, 24/7, seven days a week.
Speaking of time, dudes also on the grind, clocking till 2:00am every morning to keep the wife and kids fed, happy and opulent, all the while singlehandedly holding the cookery frontlines since Covid austerity battered his fine establishment in 2020; so everyone ought to be out here showing some respect for this bloke or be prepared to meet the wrath of Ravana by their night.
Will be visiting this gourmet dining culinary delight plenty more to come. I suggest all check it out when they can.
Tasty food, considerate chef. Asked him to customize Tandoori Chicken in low oil and it turned out to be great! Will surely try more items.
Very friendly staff. Delicious meal, and the owner even gave me a free drink for complementing his door! How good is that! Definitely will be coming back! Thank you for having us!!
Akash bhai you are amazing… The best takeaway place I have recently discovered, this man; the chef gives every dish a personal touch, even when he says he is busy, he makes sure he gives the relevant time when the order will be delivered, if he says 30 mins make sure you go at 40 and sure enough the masterpiece is ready. Would recommend everyone to try the amazing dishes and make sure you give him time to recreate magic
If you want to have the real taste of India no matter when the craving comes (be it 3 AM!!!), this is the place to be. It's difficult to actually find someone who makes quality food at that hour and though the drive to the shop is near 20 minutes for me, the taste is absolutely worth it. Keep up the good work Bhai!
Indian style butter chicken and chicken madras are top notch as with the Naan and I'm sure anything else on their menu. Owner is extremely friendly and hospitable and pricing is fitting for portion size. Haven't found a place as good in auckland yet.
This small restaurant is a gem, as it offers food of a quality which is far in excess of what one usually finds in similar Indian establishments. The husband is a talented chef and his wife provides friendly service.
My partner and I have taken friends relatives along, and they all shared our enjoyment.
Great value for money. We go there several times each month.
Delicious curries and very nice friendly service. I had the chicken kadhai and my husband ordered the lamb korma. Both were tasty, plentiful and served piping hot. The friendly lady serving us was very attentive. Nice easygoing little neighbourhood place. We’ll be back
Amazing indian authentic food. Ordered from them for dinner last night and the chef was kind enough to act upon my special requirement. Will be returning back to them again soon. Highly recommended for others to try their Lamb Briyani and Indian Butter Chicken Curry.
Hard to find a park nearby, but worth the effort. Food was great. Ambiance? Not so great. Looks like they just opened and haven’t had time or effort to decorate thoroughly. But as I say, the food was worth it. Great place for takeout. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing food with superb services. We ordered a big list of items last night and have been a regular customer here now. Best Indian food we ever had in Auckland with such flexible timings especially for people like us who get cravings late night. Definitely worth trying every dish👍
I've lived in this area for coming up 5 years now and never tried Go Indian Cuisine before. What an oversight, great tasting food which I've been missing out on. My meal consisted of Bombay Allo, Chicken Sagwala, Butter Chicken Indian Style, & Garlic Naan. Even my partner who is super fussy when it comes to Indian food really enjoyed it, so it must be of a very quality standard. Fantastic job team 👏
Best Indian restaurant in auckland that I've found. Always consistent food and pleasant service. Good pricing also. Haven't had a bad dish here yet.
Good food. I ordered chicken tikka masala and asked for it to be very hot. The chef did well to make it as hot as he could. The garlic naan was thin but good. The only thing I did not really like was the curry had quite a bit of oil.
Awesome food and also the service is very friendly. The guy who owns the restaurant is a very nice man.
Try thier Go india Special curries.
