Truly an amazing experience! The service, food and atmosphere is perfect!
Their tables are not cramped at all, quite used to cramped restaurants lately.
Food review time:
1. HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE (half)- suprised that this is huge, i am used to a few slices in some restaurants so I was pleasantly surprised. It's definitely an enjoyable treat with veggies too
2. HOMEMADE EGG TOFU WITH SOY SAUCE- 6 big chunks of tofu with their sauce, i rate highly
3. FISH FILLET IN BADONG SAUCE- OMG! I think my soul left my body for a moment, this is sooo GOOD, i wish I ordered squid which seems to be a better match but hey just the sauce and rice will even be a match made in heaven too
4. FISH HEAD LAKSA NOODLES- I love the fish, i enjoyed the laksa, just not paired with noodles. I would have prefered this as a soup and a side rice over noodles.
5. CHAR KUEY TEOW- Legit good/ authentic and even have the fat crisps included.
SUGGESTIONS:
1. I hope you offer the GREEN CHILI PICKLE next time as that was missing on the must have malaysian condiments available 🙏

Nice authentic Malaysian Restaurant at Mt eden. Service was fast, order came out quick. Price is reasonable for the serving amount. Char Kway Teow was on the smaller size though. Nestum fish fillet was awesome. Lady at the cashier was friendly and greeted us with a smile. The one who took our order wasn't that approachable. This is our new go to Malaysian resto.
Delicious food, very good and courteous service resulting in a great experience. Also the Me Goreng is one of the best in Auckland. It's one of the few restaurants now that gives a serving size to completely satisfy. I recommend this place.

This review is for my third time dining here
Came on a Wednesday night around 7 pm, fairly busy but we managed to get a table
We ordered main dishes shared between two
We got the butter egg floss king prawn and badong squid
The squid tasted very fresh and had good texture. First time trying the badong sauce, it had a nice sweet and tangy flavour
The king prawns were very big, and were fresh and cooked well
Overall the food is fantastic and well worth the price. Looking forward to coming back
Very nice food there. We really enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. Upstairs area was quite small, so it was hard to talk each other as there were so many people there and noisy. But food was amazing, so we would like to come back👍
This is my favorite & regular Malaysian restaurant. Took a group of Malaysian friends for dinner & they were so impressed. Food are so yum & authentic Malaysian taste. Staff are very friendly & attentive.
The squid in badong sauce, mildly spiced and tangy was appetising. The salty egg chicken was flavorful with generous coating of salty egg. Overall quite authentic Malaysian flavour.
Tbh I don’t really give out 5 stars to a restaurant.
However this restaurant knows exactly what they are making!!!
I had a huge dinner with family last week, and everything was so on point. The flavor and the taste are just right! I especially like the fried egg tofu and Hainan chicken rice. They were the best combo! If you like something strong then Laksa noodle and dried Bak Kut Teh are your best friends!
I went there today alone again and ordered a Char kway teow, omg it has wak hay and the seasoning is super nice! But just a bit salty in the end since I ate all the plate by myself😂
The service was great, the staffs are friendly, so will definitely visit again and try more dishes!

Had lunch here not too long ago. The place was pleasant, spacious and sitting was comfortable. The service was friendly and no language problem. The food was tasty and the serving was reasonable. There were a good selection of dishes. If you are keen on a taste of Malaysian, you must pay this place a visit. We had nasi lemak, curry laksa noodles and char kueh teow. Will be back to try other dishes.
No doubt, a solid 5 star review.
Strongly recommend book a table in advance or you will not a seat because their business is extremely busy.
I got referral to come with friends, and it turned out to be a great experience!
The fish head rice noodles soup is well cooked. I personally like white soup instead of Laksa one, however this is not something for everyone.
Will definitely come again and try something different ☺️☺️☺️
Authentic and under rated.
Dry bak kut teh - 5/5 amazing flavors! Tender meat and delicious fried mini octopus on top!
Eggplant - 4.5/5 delicious but supposed to be stuffed with pork, couldn't find the pork 😁
Chicken rice - 4.5/5 chicken slightly dry but over all it was delicious!
Chef recommended prawns - 5/5 so good!
Company shouted us dinner so we (over)ordered a feast of dinner dishes! Generally the food was delicious, double thumbs up on the Wat Dan Hor (flat noodles in egg gravy), 4 Kings of Beans, and the Egg fried Tofu. Others were a hit and miss that evening, but still decent portions and familiar tastes of Malaysian cuisine.
We sat upstairs which suits diners of an average of 10-15 people per table.
The boss lady was open and accepting of feedback as they value the comments to improve their dishes.
Dominion Rd is a playground for a variety of Chinese cuisine, many flavours to tantle the tastebuds and this is one of many I'd be happy to return to and try other dishes on the menu.
Amazing food, friendly and courteous service, clean and comfortable environment. I have been to the restaurant multiple times and the food has been consistently tasty every single time. It's my go-to place for Malaysian food now!

This is one of my fav restaurants now which serves great authentic malaysian chinese food .. i would recommend this restaurant to all my friends . I have been to this restaurant for these past 2 days and i have great food and service experience. Their fish head noodle soup is so generous with fish collar and the broth pack with great flavour . The char kwei tiau is cooked perfectly with wok hei flavour. Prawn with salted egg yolk is my best to dish at the moment ,huge size of prawn and you could just eat the whole thing from the head because it is so crispy. The salted egg yolk balanced well which is not too over or under. The marmite chicken is so juicy and the malaysian fried rice has great sambal flavour. Dont forget to compliment the food with their homemade sambal w dry shrimp which i could eat all day with rice.. The boss man, lady and 2 kids who served us today , they are really friendly and very helpful. Two kids are very observant and i am very impressed of their hospitality skill. Keep up the consistency of food and service and i will be always be a loyal customer.
Went for lunch (big as lunch 😂😂) got whole fish curry, fried vermicelli and some roti.
Get a nice hot jasmine tea when you sit down (super nice service).

Highly recommended. Had a dinner party for 10 and got a private dining room upstairs. The food was very prompt, but more importantly, superb and authentic. Their butter prawns, fish curry and marmite pork will take you to Kuala Lumpur without the 11 hour flight or quarantine. Will definitely return for more delicious meals!
Been here a number of times and food has always been fantastic! Would also like to thank Jenny for her amazing customer service each and every time. You always make my family and I feel welcome, and knowing my mum has mobility issues I really appreciate the way you looked after her today and went above and beyond!
