So I ordered their combination fried rice and asked them to make it a bit spicier. And they did, but it was uneven. When you get the spicy part, it's very yum. Otherwise, it was just okay. Mixed with the fried rice were eggs, peas, and bean sprouts for that subtle crunchiness.
Now, the thing about non-soy sauce fried rice is that they do taste bland sometimes. This one almost reached that point but the combination of meats helped it out.
As far as I can tell, you got slices of BBQ pork, beef, and chicken inside the fried rice. Both the beef and chicken are okay, but the BBQ pork was the tastiest.
For 17 NZD, the combination fried rice was good enough, since the portion can keep me full for a whole day.
Huge portions and delicious flavours! We always bring a container along whenever we go because there are ALWAYS leftovers, perfect to reheat for lunch the next day.
Had food from both bbq noodle houses and this one is the best one by far. I got spicy pork fat on rice, half a duck, bbq pork fried rice and Roast pork fried noodles and they were just the best, cooked great and I loved it. The one next door if I'm being honest was average at best. If you're looking for good food especially the ones I ordered, go here you won't be disappointed
Awesome food!every dishes beautiful.most famous restaurant in Auckland.Good service and friendly.make sure you come to the true original Mt Albert BBQ Noodle House, it's the one next to Roadside Kebabs.

I have been a big fan of this place since some friends took us here last year.
The phrase is "quick and dirty" - and has nothing to do with the hygiene of this place. If you want hot, delicious Chinese food that is still properly priced and comes out steaming hot, this place is the place to go. Their sweet and sour pork is a staple done right (sweet, sour, and crunchy) and their salt and pepper chicken chop is freshly fried on the spot. If you're getting bowls of rice for a party larger than 2, they generously give you a big bowl of rice with a rice scoop so you can serve yourselves ala Chinese home style.
They have large jugs of Ice cold water, free to take, or there is a fridge of different sodas and drinks to help yourself to and pay for when you finish your meal.
It can be a bit cramped at times (may not be necessarily wheelchair friendly) but you can always squeeze in and make a bit more room.
The menu is all over the place, literally. There are menus on tables as well as pictures on the wall so if you don't necessarily feel comfortable ordering, you can always point to whatever captures your fancy.
They open til 12am at night so if you're ever getting a hankering for takeaways, you know where to go. They're situated on the busy on-street parking road opposite the Mt Albert Train station so if you're driving, parking might be a bit tough. There are enough buses that go round or you could take your chances with the carpark next to the row of shops by the tennis courts.
Excellent food and prices
Very friendly special family owned restaurant.
Recommended for anyone to come and try many dishes.
With the cost of living today, its cheaper for me to eat at Mt Albert BBQ Noodle House than buy/cook food at home.
A big thank you to everyone including the cooks in the kitchen that looks after their valuable customers as i eat there everyday.
The BEST resto in Auckland!!
A+++ Highly Recommend this eatery. My friend and I came across this place by chance looking for a takeaway meal. We ordered the crumbed prawn cutlets with mayo , fried chicken egg noodle, roast pork on rice. A divine and delectable meal! Every dish cooked to perfection. Consider me a regular and returning customer! :)
