Great experience with amazing atmosphere. Staff will make you feel very welcome. I found the wallaby tartare much better than the scampi dog that everyone keeps raving about :).
Mains were very nice. Loved the deer, fish and lamb.
Great selection of wine. If you looking for a special spot for anniversary or so, this is the one.
World class restaurant. Better than many of the restaurants back home in Los Angeles. Each dish was a perfect combination of flavor, texture, and temperature.
Each dish is farm-to-table and the main ingredients are traced to a nearby location in New Zealand. The dishes are clearly thought out carefully, but the kitchen is also run efficiently (only a few minutes between courses). In particular, we had the oysters, salmon, asparagus, deer, lamb, strawberry sherbet, and papaya pavlova. Everything was wonderful, but the deer and salmon stood out. The pavlova had an really interesting texture and temperature gradient.
We ended up paying $150 NZD ($90 USD) each, and it was well worth the money.
One of the best meals I've ever had.
Beautiful and classy ambience. Sitting near the kitchen, you can see the well-oiled machine working and how much attention they pay in their craft.
Every dish is superb. They have the best broccoli I've ever had and wouldn't mind if the whole meal is just broccoli.
All rounded up with great service.
Highly recommended and will definitely come again.
Everything we had here was amazing! The Scampi Corn Dog, the Wallaby Tartare, oyster and venison dishes were incredible. We sat at the chef bar and everything coming. Out of the kitchen looked great. Fun experience!
The restaurant is located at the heart of Auckland city, with a beautiful view facing towards the harbour. Many windows so there’s ample natural light. Service were good, they’d explain to you where the ingredients and food is from. The food was good, it wasn’t particularly memorable for us but there were some snacks that we really enjoyed. Overall it’s a good dining experience. A bit noisy when it gets crowded and the food is a bit slow, especially in between dishes. Can take up to 20 minutes, which sort of interrupts the dining experience.
We had the most amazing/delicious dinner experience at ahi tonight. Our dinner definitely exceeded our expectations.
Service was extremely attentive, friendly, professional and efficient. Each dish was delicious and the restaurant itself just lovely.
The scampi corn dog is a must try!
This dinner was sheer joy - from the food, to the story telling, to the ambience. If you're able, trust them with the NZ Food Story experience. Every dish was so complex and delicious. My favorite part of each dish was how it was plated - but how that helped you to experience the dish a multitude of ways. Depending on what ingredients you put in your fork, you could have wildly different bites. I enjoyed EVERY bite.
Shout out to the wonderful staff: Eman, Leo, Ella, and of course Chef Ben - who was kind enough to come and speak with us. Thank you for making our evening an unforgettable experience.
I had the pleasure of being part of Ahi dining experience thanks to my wonderful host to made lunch arrangements here.
We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was every flight was superb,
My favorites' where the eel, beef tartare, Beef but everything was superb and it was hard to choose anyone over the other. Every dish presented was the chefs take on the unique local New Zealand dishes and snacks, the palette cleanser was an ice lolly which is reminisced of a childhood New Zealand Snack.
The service was superb, the staff knowledge was in depth on the dishes they had to offer and also the wine pairing that went well with each dish.
Truly a great restaurant to visit when one is in Auckland
We Celebrated our 19th anniversary there as this restaurant was voted No 1 in Auckland. I have to say being our first time we loved evey dish and the service didnt go a miss either. In my opinion worth the money we spent. Thanks to the hard working team at Ahi we both appreciated it❤
Possibly my favourite meal I have had in my life.
Food was almost overwhelmingly delicious, creative and fun. Every bite was somehow different but better than the last from start to finish.
Getting to watch over the kitchen was fascinating and despite having a fairly busy night, and being a high pressure job, all the staff from the chefs to the wait staff to front of house were approachable, friendly and made the experience even better.
I can’t fault anything I had tonight, thanks to everyone working at Ahi today - what an absolute pleasure to get to dine here. Thanks!
