We were on holidays and looking for a place to have lunch in the middle of the busy CBD and stumbled across this place. After a stressful search for a place to eat, we found a hidden place that wasn't overcrowded with business people.
This Korean place that specialised in fried chicken. We got their lunch meals, which were a decent size. Their service was quick and so was the food. The chicken curry was delicious and creamy and their chicken wasn't too greasy, which was nice. Everything else tasted pretty good too.
Great place to stop for a no-fuss lunch. They also have clean toilets in the back of the shop, which is great when you've got a baby or toddler with you.
Chicken was good crispy, not too much sauce, ttektokboki was first time try very good, also chips was very garlicly 🤌
The best fried chicken place everrr! Hidden gem in AKL! Highly recommend rose chicken. Good place for groups with a couple big tables. Plenty of flavour and options.
This place totally satisfied my korean fried chicken craving. You get a really good portion for a very decent price point. Ordered the original boneless fried chicken with rose tteokboki. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, not too oily. The rose tteokbokki was also very delicious, the sauce is extremely creamy and flavourful.
I do like the choices of 2 sauces, and always the radish is a staple side dish to refresh your palate after eating the chicken.
Absolutely amazing fried chicken and ttokboki. Had this place on my list of ones to try for ages and finally tried it before taking in a show. Im not going to lie reader, this place can be expensive. For the chicken combo platter i bought along with a 500ml handle of beer i paid 64 dollars. Which is pretty insane for one person to spend on a chicken meal. However, i was not disappointed and would still say it was worth, even if 1 person would struggle to finish it all. The portion sizes were absolutely massive, the chicken was crisp, and juicy, and the chips and ttokkbokki are the perfect complement. It was probably some of the best fried chicken ive ever had.
The place was relatively empty when i went in so seating was not an issue at all. The staff were warm and friendly and the time between takong my order and receiving my food was roughly 15 mins. So fast and friendly service is definitely a thing here. I would recommend going with a group of people to make it more worth the price, but i will probably order waaaay less food next time im back. The chicken from this place is a must try.
Another Korean Fried Chicken restaurant is located in the city. This one is a bit hidden as it shares entrances with multiple other places, keep an eye out for the signs outside. You can grab a table but you order at the counter.
They have other things aside from the fried chicken including a jjajang tteokboki, rice cakes in a spicy black bean sauce. We tried a range of different chickens and the snowing one was my favourite as it reminded me of salted egg, sweet and savoury. The rose fried chicken was also quite nice, not very spicy but really cheesy and tasty. I also quite liked the wasabi onion chicken with lots and lots of finely sliced onion which went nicely with the fried chicken. The fried seaweed rolls were a great side especially when you dip the into the chicken sauces.
I would go back just for the snowing chicken. I would also be interested in trying their snail salad.
Updating my review in December 2022 because this has become one of my favourite places!
The chicken texture is always on point, super crispy and easy to bite. My favourite is still the rose chicken, the taste is absolutely addictive. I would recommend trying the rose chicken pasta especially which is on their lunch menu! I’ll admit the first time I tried it I didn’t expect much but they prepare the pasta perfectly.
I love the lunch menu options - $15 for a filling meal and they bring it out super quick, perfect if you work or live nearby.

We got the Rose Chicken (medium size) and it was my first time trying rose sauce! It’s a really interesting creamy spicy sauce and I really liked it. The chicken was really crispy and nice. We got free chips as a topping since they were having a promotion. In total it was $29 due to the promotion.
I’m not sure if I would say it’s my favourite chicken restaurant (lots of competition) but definitely a solid addition. I noticed they have some flavours that other places don’t offer such as the rose chicken and I also saw a wasabi flavour on their special menu. Definitely worth a try!
I saw on their Instagram that they have a student discount at lunch so maybe a good place for students to check out!
I ordered a chicken and it was crispy and juicy.
Unfortunately, I can not try other flavors as leaving Auckland for Newzeland trip.
Pricey, but it’s the best Korean style fried chicken in NZ in my opinion , their tteokbokki and fries also taste amazing.
Everything was great except the seats made me feel like I was sitting on the street eating... Why can someone make fries that crispy and crunchy and fantastic, please tell me🥹🥹🥹
I made a booking and came here with a few friends who love fried chicken. We ordered a large serve of half crispy chicken and half spicy season chicken 🍗 with a rose tteokbokki and a jug of Tiger beer 🍺 . The tteokbokki was a Korean version of Mac and Cheese, pretty yum and made as a good dip. The crispy fried chicken was my favourite. It came out juicy and hot. It was still worth having the variety of the spicy season chicken - it hot sauce when perfectly with the beer.
The service was fast, and the place was neat. Probably one of the best fried chicken I have had in town. This would be somewhere to check out after work to catch with friends for casual drinks and fried chicken.
Between the three of us, I would order a bit more food, perhaps a large and medium serving. A large might be enough for two people, however.
Delicious meal, great fried chicken, nicely seasoned and crispy. Chicken platter combo for $48 was a good portion for 2 people.
Update: Been back a few times since and really really enjoy their snow cheese chicken, it’s insanely moorish!
The fried chicken is so yummy! The chips 🍟 is also very nice. Seafood 🦞 soup is refreshing 😍. A little bit pricy overall, but worth the money. Very nice place and will definitely come back again. Staff members are friendly. Pay wave and credit card will incur 2% fees.
Padak was damn good very juicy and crispy
Cheese balls were yum as well!
They have great and unique Korean fried chicken flavors that other Korean friend chicken restaurants don't have. We had Rosé and Wasabi mayo fried chickens and they were awesome. Highly recommend!
The chickens were hot and juicy which met my expectation of authentic korean fried chicken . I just wish there is more sauce for me to dip my regular fried chicken with. Other than that the spicy sauce for my other chicken half was perfect , accompanied w nice white radish. The fries were crispy and yum w nice touch of might be home aioli sauce.
