My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and we weren’t disappointed! Great service, lovely food and beautiful views 😍
Had a lovely experience here, I ordered the poke bowl w salmon, had spectacular flavours would recommend. Also tried the pork belly poke and came with a lot of pork which was great too. Did not enjoy the Energizer juices the ingredients just didn't mix well.
Beautifully positioned café - on the seaside of oneroa village it has beautiful ocean views.
The foods well presented and tasty and the service is fantastic, warm and welcoming.
We had the bercher muesli, the smashed avo and mince on toast. My muesli was quite good.
Been here a couple of times now & recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to breakfast or brunch in waiheke 👍🏼
First of all, amazing views accompanied with some tasty breakfast foods. Got the blueberry bircher and pancakes. First time tasting a bircher and it was surprisingly good. Pancakes were also sweet and delicious!
Wai Kitchen is damn average sis. Been here twice and had pretty good food and service. The first time I went I got an iced mocha and it wasn't the best but it wasn't bad so just average. For food I got like avocado on toast that came with eggs and bacon (not on the menu so i don't know the name) and it was average like you can't really mess it up so I guess it was good and fresh. The second time I went I asked for an iced mocha and i'm pretty positive they gave me an iced coffee because it was super strong and bitter and defiently different than the first time I went. The service is alright not really friendly just doing there job not interested in how our food was or anything but that's okay. The view and where the cafe is is super nice, looks out over Little Oneroa and it's a perfect place to go in summer. If you're in Waiheke I do recommend. x
Wai Kitchen has to be my favourite place to eat in Waiheke! I have been here twice and enjoyed it so much both times! The first time I came with a friend and we both got iced mochas and what I love about Wai kitchens iced mochas is that they are blended like a frappe. Wai kitchen started my obsession with iced mochas because of how good theirs was and no one has beat their one! I ordered the pancakes and they were probably the best pancakes i've had, they are so simple but presented so well, great for photos :) I was recently in Waiheke and decided I had to come back here and ordered an iced mocha again and it was good but will never beat the first time I had an iced mocha there! I also got the pancakes again and they were delicious :) The portion is quite big, I never end up finishing my meal as there is 2 big pancakes. Service is lovely and the view of Oneroa Beach is amazing! So excited to be back!
Had breakfast here this morning and was so happy with the view of oneroa and how gorgeous it was. My drink was the best iced coffee i’ve ever had! and the pancake were just delicious honestly, so filling as well, i usually finish my meals but with this i couldn’t. Service was okay i guess
Great location with awesome view, great staff, very friendly and our dishes came quick. Definitely a nice cafe to chill and relax on the island. Taste of the food is average.
We came for coffee and it was great. The view was lovely and service was good as well. Would definitely recommend for those visiting the island.
The food and view was wonderful. We had the pancakes and the grilled prawns, both dishes were delicious. The service was also lovely and the view was fantastic as seen below!
It was a nice cafeteria. Wonderful view,I would say that. Once you starts siting there, you are not able to leave. The waitress were cheerful and hospitality. The food was very fresh and tasty. It was a nice experience. Strongly recommended!!!!
Amazing view, really nice food and service :) I really liked their broccoli fritters and pancakes. Their iced chai latte could use some improvements though.. overall good experience
Clean, very friendly staff, great coffee and lovely baking. Definitely would recommend this place!! Small place with great ambience and seemed to be the only place on the island that had such great customer service😊
Had the mushroom, gorgonzola and poached eggs on ciabatta - delicious flavours! Friendly, attentive but non-intrusive service and as a bonus enjoyed a lovely conversation with neighbouring diners (Waiheke locals) - happy days! :)
Came to Wai for breakfast on our waiheke weekend away. It's a modern cafe which has spectacular views over Oneroa beach. The food was very good, we got the chilli prawn eggs Benedict which (thumbs up) had a real chilli hit. Also got the mushroom dish, which was a decent size portion but a bit of a small serving of mushrooms. The beetroot relish which came with the mushrooms was extra yummy. Coffees were unfortunately a bit average. Price point is on par for waiheke and service was good. Definitely worth a visit especially if you get a seat with a view on a gorgeous day.
Lovely food, and very welcoming staff. It is definitely a good spot to stop by, have breakfast and enjoy the view. Coffee was also good. I will be back to try other dishes
Kids friendly ! Love the fluffy here for the kids :) will come again ~ I ordered the hot chocolate and love it too! Will come back again when our next visit to the Island !
Went to Waiheke island and discover this restaurant where I had maybe of the best eggs Benedict ever.
And the location of the restaurant is breathtaking...you can see the Hauraki Gulf like no other place
The food was excellent! I had the shrimp with pancetta, cous cous and pecorino. Fresh and tasty!
The menu is small and mostly limited to sea food but the items that were available all looked good.
The view and ambiance is great and the service as well. Would definitely go back to this place!
Some will say this place is all about the view but the food was good too. I tried a seemingly odd combination of squid, lamb sausage, and cucumber that works surprisingly well. My wife enjoyed the pancetta and eggs, a generous portion and a really healthy looking yellow yoke. Our waiter wasn't attentive about filling our water glasses but another fellow working there was more than happy to fill my daypack with water at the end of lunch.
Yummy food had the Pork Belly it was well presented with great mixer of taste for the pellet waiters very pleasant and helpful The view is superb from here, differently come again
Really nice view to the Oneroa Beach.
We ordered prawn omelettes and avocado on five grains. The food is presented lovely and just to our tastes. The service is excellent.
Probably we arrive at 12ish and there's lots of people waiting, the food is served a bit slowly.
Surely will come around again.
Beautiful location if you get to sit out on the deck or near the view! Friendly fast service especially since they were so busy we had minimal waiting time. We both got the eggs benedict which was really nice, with the added touch of zoodles on top and the butter on the muffins were SO yum somehow they really stood out from the meal hahah. The portion size was decent and filling as well. All in all we left happy and full. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 is because I am allergic to nuts and personally would have enjoyed more options without them.
Great menu, friendly and attentive service and wonderful location and view! Particularly good coffee, my friends and I would say some of the best coffees we've ever had.
Came here for lunch the other day with two friends. It's such a nice setting on the water with beautiful views. I ordered the cashew nut granola with rhubarb and almond milk. It was nice but nothing amazing. My partner got the market fish which was tuna and he loved it! It came with a fresh veitnamese salad and pickled fish sauce. My friend got the prawns on cous cous which looks delicious! I had food envy for sure! Overall food was nice, good coffee and lovely setting.
Had a lovely lunch here on Auckland Anniversary day. Service was a bit slow which was to be expected with how busy it was. Beautiful view of Oneroa. I had the broad bean fritters with haloumi which was delicious. My partner had the fish of the day which was a perfectly cooked tuna steak with Vietnamese salad. Definitely one of the better places to eat in Waiheke - we will happily go back
It's a peaceful place to have meals. I went there in a cloudy day so I chose to sit inside but face to the sea. The scenery there is amazing and can hear the sound of the waves. cutleries are clean the environment is nice. Staff are friendly.
First impression - really great view, facing the water. Definitely sit outdoors.
Ordered the prawn omellete after looking at Zomato's reviews, and also the snapper. Great size, and reasonable price based on Waiheke's standard. Both were really good. And don't forget to order the spiders
I have never had a bad meal here. Love that the meals are light with unexpected ingredients. Great that Wai Kitchen showcase local wines too, but honestly the view.... that stunning view over Oneroa Bay on a sunny day especially when there are a few boats in, makes the meal an experience - a really lovely experience.
Beautiful location beautiful cafe and beautiful food! Situated right at the centre of Oneroa facing the water. Outdoor area had amazing views.
We ordered the lamb cutlet and eggs bene with smoked salmon for lunch. Presentations for both dishes were very nice! Very interesting flavour and we really loved the creative idea of balancing the flavours with all the ingredients on the plate. Good serving size too.
I was attracted by the snapper and coconut rice dish on the menu. We wasn't told this dish is not available when we sat down. It caused a bit of disappointment when l placed my order. However the waiting staff was apologetic and polite. My disappointment was soon waived by the beautiful food Taft served in front of me.
Would love to return to this beautiful cafe on our next visit.
Prompt service, great tasting food, with healthy portions and a fantastic view. It was a great way to start the day!
Both smoothies were mixed perfectly however the coffee was a touch burnt, but still tasted ok. Definitely coming back to try other items on the menu
Great food, fantastic view.
Ate here with a fried, the food is so pretty to look at and even better to eat :)
Service from the staff is quick and friendly. Can't wait to go back
Fabulous setting - sat on the balcony on a sunny Saturday looking out over beautiful Oneroa beach.
1 dish of Poached eggs, colcannon, ham, avocado & Parmesan plus 1 dish of pancetta, eggs & pide were demolished - very good. Coffee & serve also good.
One of the better options on Waiheke where it has become expensive to dine, also where a few well known cafes/restaurants have become complacent, serving very average meals at very high prices.
The views are incredible, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the menu is amazing! The prawn omelette would have to be the best omelette I've had in a very long time. Cooked to perfection, light and fluffy and full of flavour! The pancakes were good but weren't bursting with flavour and the bacon was over-cooked. The cauliflower fritters were perfectly seasoned but a bit crumbly and the haloumi was too rubbery. All the meals were beautifully presented but I certainly didn't finish my meal and long for another bite.. with the exception of the prawn omelette. Still a beautiful place for brunch that I would recommend to anyone in the area!
A crisp and slick cafe in the heart of the village. No wonder this place is so well thought of.
The sea view and sunshine in the light airy cafe is wonderful. Even better to sit outside as we did.
Breakfast was flawless and the menu veered away from the usual cafe fare.
We'll be back if we're ever in this neck of the woods again.
Nice look and taste, and also serving size was satisfied. Visited there on a public holiday last year. Reasonable price and nice service. Wow 140 Characters
I visited wai kitchen this afternoon with my partner, we came just for coffee but then decided to try the food. We were greeted by very friendly staff, I ordered a watermelon & strawberry juice, my partner ordered a vanilla rose &strawberry smoothie both quirky fun additions to our lunch.
My cauliflower fritters arrived with pickled vegetables, goats curd and haloumi, all elements were perfect, and there was just the right amount of goats cheese to make it interesting. My partner had the lamb fillet which was well cooked with subtle flavours, very enjoyable but could have done with a heavier sauce. Would definitely recommend this place.
Have a crave for some seafood when we arrive, and wondered into this place.
Ordered a snapper with black rice and a Prawn with Cous cous. Both of them are great favour, fresh seafood use, but would like a slightly larger portion.
Busy, but Service can be better.
My favourite cafe to eat when in waiheke, it has great views and the food is awesome. For lunch this time we had the salmon salad, haloumi mushrooms, cauliflower fritters (a repeat favourite) and snapper with wild rice. Everything lived up to the usual standard of amazing!
This cafe spills out onto a large deck with expansive views of Oneroa Beach. Stunning! We came here for a celebration brunch on a Saturday. The atmosphere, service, food and coffee did not disappoint. I savoured every mouthful of the house smoked salmon, served with eggs, spinach and gluten free toast. The poached eggs and colcannon and the Venison mince were also enjoyed by other guests.
There was not a large cabinet selection available, however a few freshly baked muffins and sweet treats were temptingly displayed in glass domes.
I suspect that there are not many cafes in the world serving such good food accompanied by a visual feast for the eyes. Well worth the ferry trip from the city!
We're on Waiheke every October and WK is a must dine @. We brunch there as we like being there when the day's fresh and we can feel the morning sun when dining out on the deck. WK does a great house smoked salmon w. eggs and their eggs Benedict w. farm cove bacon and the vanilla pancakes are winners also. But in all honesty, just sitting outside w. just a coffee, enjoying the beautiful view is a just as good!
This restuarant is amazing! I love you can sit outside on the deck and get a beautiful view of the beach. The meals are amazing. Lovely friendly staff and efficient service. I really reccommend!how

We went on a Saturday, during the Waiheke Vintage Festival and were expecting restaurants and cafés to be very busy. I approached the till, mentioned we didn't have a reservation, and got a friendly "that's okay!"
My fiancé started with a cup of flat white, I'm guessing he's on a secret mission of finding the best flat white in Auckland. He had eggs benedict with smoked salmon ($21.50) while my love for pancakes automatically wired my brain to get the vanilla pancakes with farm cove bacon ($22.00).
Wai Kitchen did away with the predictable maple syrup, as what you'd expect from a café that has been on the Metro Top 50 Cafés in Auckland consistently four years in a row. Instead, a spread of macadamia butter with cinnamon sugar and a generous dollop of light cream sat atop my vanilla pancakes. Each bite is a mouthful with the bacon perfectly balancing the sweetness of the spread. The nuttiness of macadamia stands out but does not overwhelm the taste of the pancakes.
Hollandaise sauce coated two perfectly poached eggs which had nice creamy yolks. They sat atop two nicely toasted english muffins. I like that they didn't scrimp on the smoked salmon, as well.
Overall, it was a great dining experience. Wai Kitchen seemed like a place where good friends catch up and where families jump start their day. They're pet-friendly as well, so thumbs up to that.
Best cafe in oneroa. The food is very nice. They have beautiful and healthy kids meals. The only problem I they don't have hight chairs so I can't come back :(
Wai Kitchen is the place to visit. They provide nice food that have a delicious fusion of flavours. Perfect taste. Although one dish we had was a bit salty in one particular section, but other than that it was good. When are food came, it's presentation was pleasing to the eye. A particular drink called vantilion soda was great. I haven't seen it sold in auckland. I recommend that you try it!
Wai Kitchen also has a breathtaking view of the beach and lovely photo opportunities. Definitely would come back again. It gave us a positive experience to remember when looking back at out Waiheke trip.
Beautiful food. Amazing view. Excellent service.
The cauliflower fritter blew my mind. It was so simple, yet so delicious. The combination with the goat curd and the pickled cauliflower. Wow. Simple and refreshing. To top it off, the amazing view from their balcony, it's the perfect setting to relax and enjoy.
Really neat place for a breakfast... Waitress have been very accommodating in arranging our table for seven of us.
Food is good. We would have like to get served all the same time... maybe next time.
I tried the brown rice and chicken, whereas my husband chose the tenderloin with fries and vegetables in jalapeno sauce yesterday. The dishes were tasty, but the tenderloin was a bit cold. The drinks were boysenberry smoothy and waiheke cider. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the meal and the service.
Perfect spot in the centre of the main strip of Oneroa shops, with a great view down to the beach, and nicely presented in a stylish and modern fashion this cafe stands out as being one of the places to eat at if you at Oneroa! Service was impressive, and so to the menu selection. My eggs benny with salmon was a success and the other meals also looked delicious. Fairly roomy inside. Having difficulty choosing from the menu means they have the menu right :-)
My partner and I had our wedding at Mudbrick over Easter weekend and Wai kindly agreed to open for a couple of hours on Saturday night so that our guests could meet each other and enjoy some drinks and nibbles.
The food was absolutely gorgeous (beetroot and haloumi tarts, petite Waikanae crab sandwiches, as examples) and the service was warm and professional. Our guests commented on both.
We'd recommend Wai without hesitation.
Absolutely loved the breakfast here. Went there on a busy jazz festival day during the Easter break when all of Waiheke is crowded. Managed to get a table outdoor, the views are spectacular. The waiting staff were polite and efficient. The food on the other hand took ages to arrive but that was probably because of the busy weekend. Flavours were amazing - had the bubble and squeak with perfectly poached egg while my friend had the corned beef. The baked goodies were stunning too....had a blueberry and orange scone which was just delish. Will surely go back to Wai Kitchen on my next Waiheke trip.
My friends and I love this place. Awesome view, really, really good food and coffee and the staff are always friendly and onto it. Can't get much better.
Fantastic view out over the beach and bay with the sun streaming in.
The menu has a wide selection of dishes and there is an extensive range of wine by the glass. To follow-up the sweets and biscuits are temping.
All the dishes were well presented and the food was fresh and tasty.
What a great cafe - the best in Oneroa by far! Absolutely stunning coffee, food (lovely, original menu) and setting. Only comment is that the waitress was slightly over-attentive - asked us if there's was anything else we needed approximately 5 or 6 times when once would've been plenty. Would DEFINITELY go back the next time we're on Waiheke.
Waiheke....such a little gem, one of my favourite little gems anywhere, & only a 40 minute ferry ride from Auckland. Just 40 minutes & you are away from the hustle & bustle of the big smoke. The minute you step off the ferry you just slow down. I always want to come straight back, even just after one day. I just want to up sticks & move over there. Maybe grow some olives or a little wine...see sounds idyllic right? And in my head it most definitely is & I do love a little day dreaming. Stunning views, white sandy beaches, cafes, restaurants & vineyards; lots of very, very good vineyards.
A day trip is great, but longer would always be better. Though I do kind of like that I always want to come back as it’s always something to look forward to. We caught the 8:15 ferry from downtown Auckland & just after 9 we were very happily ensconced at Wai Kitchen in the middle of Oneroa for some breakfast before a little exploring. Wai means water & as you sit in Wai KItchen you can just take in the the glorious view out over the Hauraki Gulf. The perfect spot to start a day on Waiheke.
Wai Kitchen is owned by the same team that owns, Teed Street Larder, Toru, Scullery & Scratch Bakery so they most definitely know what they are doing. If like me you like white anchovies then you must visit Teed St Larder for some of them on toast.
But back to Wai Kitchen, where you can actually have white anchovies. At Wai Kitchen they come with fried eggs, serrano jamon, olives & manchego & I may well have to try them on my next visit. I was in the mood for eggs but felt more like scrambled & when I saw that they came with pancetta I was sold. Lighter, crispier & just so much more flavour than regular bacon I can rarely go past a little pancetta. These were great scrambled eggs; creamy & delicious the perfect foil for the salty, crispy pancetta. For the toast component it was home baked & I could have eaten a whole loaf slathered in butter. I almost forgot about the coffee; yes it was good too.
My breakfast buddies had the eggs benedict with bacon & the poached eggs with colcannon, corned beef, avocado & sour cream & there was a happy silence as we all tucked in. We all left on our exploring very happily full & satisfied.
