This is the perfect place to go if you're reminiscing about HK food and milk tea. I love that they serve the milk tea in Black & White Evaporated Milk branded cups. This is probably the closest you can get to authentic HK milk tea in Auckland that I've tried so far.
The food is simple and, for me, almost homely. Their best fare is really in the noodle and soup domains. The snacks, like fried chicken and dumplings, are nothing special.
My favourite dishes were undoubtedly the baked rice and spaghetti. If you do choose a meaty rice option, it goes especially well with mushroom sauce. It comes out in a generous portion piping hot and is the ultimate comfort food and satisfying meal.
They also do soupy macaroni and spam and egg sandwiches for the HK cha chaan teng experience. The best value is to get these in a set.
Overall, this place is great for HK-nostalgic cheap eats.
One of my family’s favourites! Good for a casual lunch, with nostalgic Hong Kong delights and accommodating staff. Baked Cheese pots and Sizzling Plates are really worth it as well as their Set Menus where you can get toast and milk tea too! Can get quite full so get there early!
Had Hong Kong style milk tea here this morning, it was petty good actually! Probably it’s the best milk tea I have ever had! We also tried Hong Kong wonton noodle soup and beef noodle soup but unfortunately they were not our type.
This cafe was recommended by my boyfriend who is Cantonese as he said it was one of the most authentic HK cafes he's been to in NZ. He got the wonton noodle set and I got their upgraded set with eggs, spam and the fried chicken cutlet. Service was prompt and food came quickly which wad good as we were starving. Their milk tea was very different from the milk tea I was use to- much more tea like rather than sweet which was a nice change. The noodles were very bouncy and the soup was very refreshing although there was too much sesame oil for my liking. Their wontons were good as well although more shrimp would have been nice. My meal was just basic comfort food- it wasn't too oily and filled me up but nothing spectacular. I'm excited to try more of their menu in the future 😊
Braised beef noodle is the best in their menu and their teas are outstanding, love the service, love the food, love the ambience. One of my to go places for quick dinner.
Have been here twice, love the food and beverage! Especially the hong kong milk tea, sooo tasty. I would like to keep exploring the new dishes 😁
The whole experience really feels like being back in Hong Kong, especially the milk tea. Even the menus look just like the ones in a typical Hong Kong cafe. My favourite thing to order is the French toast. The biggest disappointment is a lot of the food I have tried doesn’t taste like the ones in Hong Kong as much as I would like but that doesn’t stop me from coming back.
I like the nostalgia feel of this cafe. It’s like going back to Hong Kong and have a simple afternoon tea or lunch. Love the soup which is really tasty. With the set, you get to pick the type of meat you want to go with the noodles and there are also different types of noodles to choose from, including the well known Japanese Nissan noodles (which is very common in HK). The service is not bad and we did not have any problem with our order. Give this cafe a go if you are nearby!
I think it is a good place for a simple hk tea cafe meal. I enjoy their grilled rices with tomato sauce with fish or pork cutlets, shrimp wonton noodle soup; and of course their hk style milk tea. I like its clean and simple decor, and not as noisy or rushed like those tea cafe in hk. I just wish they could have few more hk tea cafe favorite on their menu in the future.
An ideal place to have a meal with a drink. They have set menu of various choices. I usually have the wonton noodle soup with the HongKong milk tea that only costs 13 dollars. The ice lemon tea here is also my favorite.
We called it a classy Hong Kong style cafe. They served the Hong Kong style set meal, but it is different from the tradition one as they used the high grade ingredient.
The set meal is value for money, you can get a ham macaroni + egg + sausage + toast + drinks for $10 only! If you like HK food, you may also try the milk tea there!
This is a MUST go place if you're a HK food lover. Lady boss is nice and friendly and the food here is delicious and in reasonable price. However, pleas don't try their Ramen as it is a lil bit tasteless but others are quite okay. HK Milk tea, Ice lemon tea and redbean shake is their signature drinks.
The owner is the nicest lady, very sincere and helpful. The food here may be abit bland sometimes but the atmosphere is excellent. A great spot for hangouts. The ice Hongkong milk tea is very authentic and cheap $4.50
Usually I have to travel over the bridge for a taste of my other home, so when I heard a Hong Kong style cafe opened up earlier this year, I didn’t need much convincing to stay on the shore. There are plenty of Taiwan style bubble tea cafes around the North Shore but nothing quite as close to my heart.
Exciting to see a new Hong Kong themed cafe out in Albany. The cafe has been decorated with traditional Hong Kong mail boxes and photographs of Pre 1950 HK. Just by the entrance there are a small display cabinet behind the first set of sitting, it was filled with miniature HK street food stalls!
It's an authentic HK cafe as soon as you identify a mixture of rice, baked rice, soup noodles(macaroni), toasted sandwiches and milk tea/lemon tea on the menu.
We've ordered corn soup with dinner roll, black pepper pork chop on rice, tomato chicken thigh on rice, hot milk tea and hot coffee & milk tea for dinner. It was satisfying, the flavor reminded us of HK, bearing in mind the proportion may not be enough for Kiwi blokes, highly recommend to order extra dishes for the guys.
Affordable, good quality cafe food, polite staff, authentic and A for cleaniness.
Recommended if you want to have a taste of HK cafe food.
Definitely one of the best Hong Kong style cafe in Auckland. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food is good and well priced. Will definitely be back!
This Cafe is totally my kind of place. They're a Hong Kong styled Cafe which serves what would be seen as simple food, but hits the mark. Decent prices for decent sized dishes and drinks. All i have tried so far have been really good. The food served here is what I, and the family eat when we go back to HK, so I love coming here!
Because of the simplicity, the food arrives very quickly. So it's perfect for a quick bite. They do set meals at certain times of the day which are really worth getting. Their staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself is cute; small but bright interior. It's perfect with a few friends or family but definitely not for a large group.
Good taste in hongkong food, fried wonton is excellent. Spaghetti with tomato sauce and cheese is great too! I love the milk tea, it is a must to try drink 👍
Very nice Pork Chop on Sizzling plate, black pepper sauce is so tasty! I will definitely have this again. Clean and cozy atmosphere.
One of the best places in Auckland for authentic Hong Kong food. The HK-style milk tea is superb 😋 Good value for the sets too👍🏻
Very good dining experience here. Authentic taste and atmosphere. Portion can be bigger but is a good "full". Overall will highly recommend to any Hong Konger in Auckland.
I had the pork mince and fried egg on rice which was quite yummy. My friends ordered the steak set but the meat was too tough and dry. Will try other dishes next time.
Good tasty(hot and cold) milk tea.
Real Hong Kong style .
Egg and beef sandwich is good ,if cheese added will be perfect
Came in for a quick lunch bite without too much expectation and ended up being amazed by the Authentic HK cafe food! Clean and bright dinning space and cool decor! Milk tea is a must try!
Being originally from HK. I really wanted to find a place with authentic baked rice dish. Saw this restaurant online and thought about to give it a try.
We ordered beef brisket noodle and baked pork chop with rice.
The beef brisket was tender but I feel is a bit lack of flavour. The noodles was of a nice texture, so wasn't too bad of a dish.
The baked rice is a little disappointing. The authentic one normally have crumbed pork already embedded within the rice and is all chopped up. It will normally have more sauce and have a layer of cheese baked on top. So I feel this was not very authentic at all.
I think this restaurant is more of a homecook feel taste, not too salty and oily. So if you are looking for a healthier meal when eating out, this is not a bad option. Nice ambiance and service but I will need to look another place for my baked rice, or even cook myself.
Very average compare to HK, food is a bit bland, ice tea not strong enough, the chicken corn soup is ‘from the can’ just added a bit of chicken piece. The Steak was ok. Took a baby seat to use and it was really dirty also a baby fork from the previous usage they could of wiped it down every time someone use it. Good that they had a baby changing table in the toilet, overall the place looks pretty clean.
One of our favourite family cafes. Friendly service. I think their dishes have improved in quality and taste since they opened quite a few years ago. Their French toast and red bean frappe are very good. Authentic Hong Kong cafe. Can be quite crowded and parking can be an issue, but still very fond of this place.
Average food taste, not in big portion compare with others. hot drink is ok, but ice drink not strong favour enough. Toys and models are nice.
A typical Hong Kong Style Cafe HK style menu. All the special sets menu are in reasonable price.
Im from HK myself and felt this very authentic, definitely feels like back home. I ordered a wonton noodle which was good, and a traditional milk tea.
One of the best restaurants in North Shore that I highly recommend for those of you who are looking for decent HK food. Excellent customer service & the food was great!
Small size cafe style restaurant. Meals are medium size and Farley reasonable price. Well known for Wanton noodles and beef brisket.
For the price and portion is pretty good. Staff was attentive. I enjoyed the ice milk tea - flavour could be stronger, in food as well.
