Beautiful decor, fantastic vibe, and amazing food! The staff are attentive and the cocktails are wonderful! Food is sublime - it's fresh, decent portion sizes, and totally worth every cent! If you like seafood this is a must visit

First time at Kingi. We had the taste of kingi set menu. My favorite dish was the flounder. Overall most of the seafood dishes were done well. My least favorite was the venison neck. I found the meat a bit dry and tough (cooking this part of the animal is probably quite challenging). Another little feedback I have is that perhaps the staff can be trained to explain the composition of each dish a bit better considering this is a tasting menu. I think I will be back again but will probably stick to their seafood next time.

We had dinner here and it was a great experience. The food was amazing, the flavours were incredibly good. There was also a vegetarian dish on the menu. The restaurant is modern and the staff were professional. Highly recommend if you like seafood.

Fabulous place! The staff are wonderful. The restrooms are beautiful. And the food was amazing! We love that the fishermen & women are listed on the back of the menu to highlight how fresh the seafood is and supporting local fishing businesses.

We’ve been wanting to dine at a restaurant that served good seafood and celebrated New Zealand ingredients and Kingi met the brief. The food was amazing and exactly what we were looking for. They looked after us well. Love the way it’s set up especially the chandelier. We had the kina on toast, trevally oka, flounder, the Wakame tagliatelle and the miann chocolate mousse. I would buy a tub of that oka if I could. Chocolate mousse was decadent. Absolutely loved all the food. Two notes. A little light outside above the sign on the wall that says kingi would be great , (was hard to see in the dark) Please serve the flounder on a bigger plate so it’s easier to flip 😁.

Sitting under this beautiful glass feature is a delight but wait until the food arrives! Great plates for sharing and the presentation is simple and stunning. I have a few faves but always go for the smoked kahawai and Kina on toast. The iced tea is wonderful
