Yummy kebabs, large servings. We got two combos. Just what we wanted from a kebab and met all expectations, no complaints.
Service was also very good.
Great spot to grab a kebab for real cheap! Ordered the chicken on rice (regular size) and it was super filling. It was $10.90 which I think is worth it and the chicken was really flavourful. If you want a quick and cheap lunch Ala Turca is the spot to visit.
Omg yum! We got the “super on chips”, or meat on fries with salad - which I have struggled to find in many Turkish places in Auckland. The container was jam packed with delicious fresh meat, tasty salads, and super crispy well-seasoned chips. Service was friendly and fast. We also got the lamb mince borek which did not lack in cheese or flavour. Everything so tasty and can’t wait to go back!

Really happy to have found this little gem right in the heart of Birkenhead.
They do an awesome super shish mix on rice and they cook the meat over coals for authentic flavor.
Came back the same evening for some shisha and apple tea. Footpath roadworks causing a little chaos to sit outside at the moment but once this is done i reckon this will be our new local shisha hang out.
I'll be back to try the Turkish coffee and baklava soon :)

Falafel rice dish for dinner - absolutely delicious! Super friendly staff members. The rice dishes are also in paper containers, which is super exciting! Request no plastic bag, and its a plastic free dinner!

Partner and I were after an easy takeaway on a Sunday night. What a fantastic little place this is to get some yummy food!
Service: The staff were friendly and smiled at us as they walked past while I ordered. Wasn't busy and the kebabs were ready pronto.
Ambience: Can't say much with a takeaway order but the dine-in room looked fairly cosy.
Food: The best part of everything. Very well priced and amazing portions. The kebab was packed. The fries were a large portion. I, a big eater, was thoroughly satisfied and full. The kebab was juicy and the meat moist and lots of it.
Looks like I have found another quick meal option for a lazy night.
Nah yeah pretty good ae. Handy in the way that I’m lazy and it’s not to far from home . The hot chilli sauce. Haven’t had it, but yeah heard it’s pretty hot ae. I don’t really like hot stuff . Also while waiting a labradoodle walked past . Not in his own , he was on a lead . That made my day ae. Hope I see him again one day. Food was nice.
Was visiting some of the lads before watching the Aussie open, was a bit early and quite hungry so wanted something quick and light.
Ordered the iskender kebaba which is thin slices of lamb on top of pita bread with hummus and sour cream. Not exactly light, as I had originally intended but really good nether the less. The sauce with the meat is fabulous and the lamb had a great texture. This is a big meal and probably can be spilt between two.
Soaking the pita bread in the sauce and oils from the lamb, just amplified the bread. Scrumptious to say the least.

Been here a couple of times, once for coffee and once for lunch. Both times the food and drink was great, one of the best hot chocolates I've had. Their chicken kebabs were so yum I'm definitely going back again as the food was fresh and I can eat my way around the menu - it's a much better option than the other 2 kebab shops in Birkenhead.
Typical Turkish place. I usually order chicken seekh. Sometimes I get it dry and sometimes moist. But that doesn't stop me from grabbing a bite from on here. It is delicious. Call ahead and order bcuz the seekh items take a good 25 minutes.
Last visit I ordered the Mezze plate, it would be perfect if it came with one more along of thier tasty bread.
Prices are doable. Location fabulous, partial sea view, nice interior.
Quick easy food that you can either take out or eat in now. Never eaten in, but it's a family owned restaurant and you will always be greeted with a smile. Mum and dad are amazing humans and the daughter is a sweetheart. Highly rate these guys! Generally very fast service for takeaway, so really quite convenient. Cannot recommend them enough
I have been going to that place for a while now, the food quality is good but they have been increasing the prices on regular basis and decreasing the portions at the same time.
Will go less often not take away pricing anymore :(
This place was recommended by a friend who has eaten at every local eatery here in Birkenhead as he lives close by. I came with friends and we ordered the chicken kebab salad it was absolutely delicious as were the Baklahva we had for dessert.
What I do love is there freshly made juices I ordered the green lemons which had green apple and lemon and oranges in it, what can I say? Simply amazing.
Will be here on a regular as its conveniently close by.

Excellent kebabs and such friendly staff. They are really accommodating of any questions or requests. The food is very fresh and tasty. I'd rate the chicken over the lamb in terms of the meat options.
My favourite local takeaways! Great value for money, always ready super fast. Friendly service. Love getting the salads, chicken and falafel mix. Always generous serving of hummus and meat. Love coming here.
My husband and I frequently get takeaways from this place. Initially we were worried that it would be like any other Turkish place but its not! The food is fantastic, fresh and good quality. We often order the mixed shish, chicken salads and homemade boreks which are all very tasty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended
Ala Turca was the only place open for food after 9pm on Sunday the other week, so this made choosing dinner easy. I went with the chicken kebab combo (includes bowl of fries and a can of drink) dine-in. There are a few tables inside and surprisingly two other people were dining here at the same time, plus one takeaway order while we were there. Loved the kebab (they let you choose three sauces; I had hummus, aioli and satay). I'm not usually a kebab-by-first-choice person, but I was very satisfied afterwards. Note: there is a customer bathroom out back but it is somewhat fear-inducing. I recommend holding if you can help it.

Been there and the food is very good, the service was amazing. I only wish if it was a bigger restaurant as we were three families and we almost occupied the whole place.
We had great time here the other night with my family. I loved the Shish kebabs, they were cooked perfectly, rice was full of flavour and the salad was refreshing. Staff was friendly as well, overall, very good experience. I love Shish kebab but good ones are hard to come by. I am so glad that I finally found this restaurant.
We have eaten here at least 4 times recently, had mixed shish kebab, boreks, and lamb donner, all have been amazing, and also all been cooked fresh to order.
Would recommend to anyone, either for a snack or for a full meal.
Ala Turca specalises in high quality and authentic Turkish cuisine. I can recommend any one of their Boreks, they are made from scratch with fresh ingredients on the spot. The Mezze Dip platter is a must, my personal favourite is the beetroot dip. I have only had a Doner Kebab from here once and tbh I wasnt that impressed as it was a bit bland and nit enough filling, however if you stick with the Boreks youre gonna have a good night. Also, do not disregard their fruit smoothies, good on a hot day. Average take-away wait is 15 mins.
The best kababs around. This restaurant has the very freshest of ingredients, with the wraps being made right before your eyes. Immaculately clean, great prices and really friendly service. You have to try it!

I tried everything there and always left from there with full satisfaction. I'm happy to spend my money there.:) I can recommend to everybody. I went there again and again. I'm very happy customer. Food is always delicious and tasty. Even they let me use their bathroom actually it is very clean and tidy. Fact that they didn't have to. Very polite people they can take my money any day. Since I started eat from there I think I started to loose weight also. :)))

Best Turkish food in Birkenhead!! I've been visiting Ala Turca regularly since they opened a couple of months ago. The food is very authentic, always fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the owners are very welcoming. I'd throughly recommend to anyone looking for tasty authentic Turkish food. It's by far the best in Birkenhead so don't waste your time with the others - head straight for Ala Turca.
