Jaba Grill and Bar in Christchurch is hidden away, but worth finding. The food was excellent and the staff were professional. The atmosphere was good too, not the biggest space, but not too noisy either. It wasn't cheap, but the servings were large, everyone in our group of 15 were full and enjoyed their meals.

Well established restaurant. Food was delicious, bread starter had great dips would have been nice with more bread though. Only veg option is halloumi and carrot salad, sounds dull but tasted delicious. Nice range of cocktails.

Great options and everything was really yummy! Many good reasons why this place is considered the best steakhouse in Christchurch. The service was nothing but kind, courteous and homely. Congrats to the team! I look forward to my next visit.

Walked on and was hit by a strong earthy smokey wall of flavours in the air. Found out as each meal was delivered there was a sprig of rosemary on fire (tiny fire 👍🏽). Each dish we ordered was excellent and packed full of flavour. Carpaccio was out of this world. Steaks cooked over charcoal, my personal favourite. All round great night

Try a glass of Bannockbrae for him, and an Afternnon delight cocktail for her, omgoodness, what a great start! Mains dishes pictured are the Beef-Rib and Salmon mains... Devine.

The best steak in town, if not the whole of New Zealand! ❤️❤️❤️ We visited for dinner on Friday evening and the caveman-style ember-cooked meat was literally so succulent and delicious, my mouth is watering just thinking about it 😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤 Don't get me started on the marrow-bone starter as well 🤩🤩🤩 Simply addictive. Great atmosphere, welcoming and very friendly hospitality from the patron and all the staff. You'll feel right at home.

One of the most memorable steaks we’ve tried. We ordered a few dishes to share - the Tomahawk, bone marrow and venison carpaccio, and a cheesecake for dessert. It was my first time trying bone marrow and I’m glad I did. It went very nice with the bread provided. The venison carpaccio was good as well, so was the dessert. What stood out for me was the Tomahawk. The steak was cooked medium rare. It had a nicely charred flavour on the outside, and tender on the inside. Would return if I’m ever in the area again. Chatted with the lady at the cashier and discovered that she’s visiting my home country in 2 weeks time. If she reads this - “I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I enjoyed my visit to the restaurant.” :)

What an amazing restaurant neatly tucked away! The food was amazing paired with such beautiful service. I would definitely would dine there again. I had the short rib with duck fat potatoes. So delicious and thanks for having us! It was so easy to give the restaurant 5 stars ⭐️

Amazing casual steakhouse. Price was amazing, food was amazing, hospitality was amazing. And don't skip the chocolate brownie dessert. We were greeted by the lovely manager, Monica, where she threw some banter with us and made us feel comfortable dining there. There was a waiter in a sling wandering around, helping served and cracked some jokes with us. We found out later that the waiter was the owner, Jay Balasundara. He showed us the charcoal oven used to cook the steaks. The menu was simple, and in our opinion, very well priced. The excitement didn't start until our medium rare ribeye on the bone and Sirloin actually came out Medium Rare! It is rare you that you get the cook you asked for. My wife had the Wakanui 21 day aged Sirloin and I had the Prime Steer Ribeye on the bone. When I thought my ribeye was amazing, my head was knocked back when I tried my wife's Wakanui Sirloin. Delicious pieces of steak and such wonderful flavors from both the cooking technique and the beef themselves. Our dining experience didn't end as we ordered the panacotta with starenese qoulis and chocolate brownies on a hot plate and they were amazing! Truly recommend and we will definitely come back again whenever we visit Christchurch.

Jaba Grill and Bar lived up to its 4.5-star rating.. The deep-fried squid with sriracha mayo was delicious, and the portion size was generous. My Marble Masters Grain Fed Angus Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the parsnip puree and crisps were a tasty accompaniment. Wonderful quick and attentive services! I have no hesitation in recommending Jaba Grill and Bar.
