Loved this spot. It’s a classic old pub, but in the best way. Great selection of beer/cider on tap and the food was excellent. I went with the pork sausages (bangers and mash), which was probably the most beautifully presented example of the dish I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to visit a local pub in Christchurch!

Always great at Poms. 🍻 We have been coming here regularly for a number of years and really enjoy the selection of quality kiwi craft beers on offer, all served in a really cosy, comfortable atmosphere by awesome staff. We especially love our dark beers and always enjoy a beer or three here most weekends! We did something different tonight and stayed for tea. I had heard good things about the steaks here, so we both had the 350g ribeye steak. Hubbie's was a medium and mine a medium rare. They come complete with asparagus and parmesian fries. We found our steaks to be incredibly tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. They were probably two of the best steaks we have had for a very long time. The portion sizes were very generous; I couldnt eat all mine, so we didnt ask for the desert menu, but I hear that's awesome too. We would totally recommend the steaks here as a "must try" and will definitely choose to have a meal out here again soon.

Cosy, traditional style bar with a great range of beers on the menu. Service is friendly and attentive. Food menu provides plenty of options, whether you want quick bar food or a full dinner service. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere too. Will definitely return in the near future.

Honestly the best burgers we have had in a very long time. The place was completely full (rightfully so) but the owner very kindly offered his table. Fantastic service and food.

A typical pub meal but very tasty. The service was excellent by some happy, attractive young ladies. They made us feel welcome.

Came here for the pork roast on Sundays - was not disappointed. The food at Poms has always been spot on each time I've come, this last time in particular it was exceptional. They have a huge variety of crafts, I particularly like sours and these have all been top tier. The bar snacks are great, if you like pork crackling then I highly recommend grabbing a plate to share over a beer. Bar Staff are always friendly and professional, and was glad to have that carried over into the dining room. Claiming it as my local even though it's 15 mins away from home

Our safe bet whenever we are in Christurch and need a place to have a quick beer & bite. The interior has a lot of atmosphere that makes it a very comfortable and cozy place to convert a “quick beer & bite” into a longer stay. The menu is rather short (after all, it’s mainly a pub), but they make up for it in quality as everything is very tasty. Great selection of beers, wines and coctails (they make a prety good Negroni!). Cherry on top is their friendly staff and speed of service.

Great place, great service, great food, great beer. Been here last time I came down from Dorkland and I'll very likely go here the next time I'm down. I didn't realise that beer baroness was brewed out the back either so that added to my visiting experience.

Great pub with always friendly chatty staff. Mixture of locals and visitors as clientele but all in all just a good traditional pub but with an awesome selection of well chosen craft beer.

Enjoyed our time spent at this hotel. We drank and ate there at different times as it was just up the road from our accommodation. Great place to chill. Love how the dogs 🐕 are allowed in the hotel. Staff were always helpful friendly and pleasant. Food was enjoyable.

Great food, knowedgable forthcoming waitstaff. Big portions. Sadly missed dessert because the mains were quite big. Mental note - next time start with dessert.

Great food, ambience, and service here. Prices high, but that's normal for pub restaurants these days. Great range of NZ craft beer.
