Good? Nope... It's EXCELLENT. We've eaten a fair share of asian/fusion food throughout the whole South Island, and trust me, this is by far the BEST! Not just the food, the service, the ambience, the drinks, everything single thing is 100%. For the price you're paying, you're getting way more than that.

This is a treat for your tastebuds. We had the chef's choice menu item which has a variety of food. All just amazing. This is the best duck I've eaten anywhere in the world to date. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It's just a great place to eat, truly fantastic food

Loved King of Snake. Food was delicious and fresh and very nicely presented. The wait staff were incredibly helpful and patient (there is a lot to choose from on the menus) and gave excellent recommendations. Highlights for me were the Sashimi and the Penang Curry Beef Cheeks. 100% would return just for the Penang!

Distinct muse has been put into the design of the 3 restaurant areas. The service was excellent. Elevating the standards for the Christchurch dining experience. Food was great, with clear distinct flavours. Favourite dish was the Thai wakanui beef salad. It was cook d and presented to perfection. Maître d did an excellent job ensuring we were happy with our experience. The quality of their rice can be improved. It is important to have high quality jasmine rice with fragrance to compliment the meal. However the dining experience was top notch. Well done King of Snake team.

We sat on the balcony as the inside seating was full but it was perfect and we really enjoyed the view from the balcony and with heaters, it was perfectly warm! Adored the food - every single mouthful was delicious. Also enjoyed a great cocktail and the wine list was well considered with not too many selections to overwhelm but just a thoughtfully prepared list of options which were ideal for the exotic flavours of the Asian food. Staff were superb. Could not fault King of Snake - it was a fabulous experience.

Had a really nice meal here with my parents. A couple of things let it down, the lamb rib starter was very chewy and not very well cooked although the sauce was delicious. The house cocktail was a mountain of ice more than a cocktail and the chocolate fondant was cold in the middle. Apart from that, the atmosphere was nice, staff were attentive and friendly and even took the fondants off the bill for us which we really appreciate. Chill prawn main and the crispy duck were absolutely delicious!

Lovely lunch here on the Monday of Waitangi weekend. Pros: - the tuna salad - so fresh and delicious - the truffle fries with the miso mayo - the salmon spinach leaf - the atmosphere- unfortunately we didn’t book so didn’t end up near the windows but the space was bright and comfortable. - the crayfish mini brioche- pricey and very much a treat but they were super yummy Cons - the prawn dumplings were a bit disappointing - service was a bit slow. It seems like more servers appeared after 1pm which was good. My second wine took ages to come and I had to ask about it. Staff were friendly though. We will definitely go back, next time for dinner.

Loved the prompt friendly service from articulate, knowledgeable staff. Really loved the fact that we got given some advice on how to actually eat our appetizers as we did look kind of confused which was apparently quite normal, made myself and my wife more at ease in a restaurant which is in the running for the top NZ restaurant. Which I would agree with totally!

Food with Asian twist. Ordered fried egg plant and blue cod fish. Both were delicious. Fried egg plant goes very well with rice which was provided free. Recommended!
