Jimmy's is more than a Restaurant and Bar but from the first step you are entering history with two vintage vehicles, petrol pump and motor bikes welcoming you. Not to be outdone a 🏇 horse and carriage hangs from the ceiling. Never ever seen such a collection of antiques in one place other than museums?
Started our dinner with Soup of the day and today was the freshest tomatoes we have ever tasted.
Garlic bread was lathered with butter and one could actually feel the garlic touching your palate. Crisp and soft with a blend of taste.
Smoked salmon salad: In New Zealand and not have salmon. Why salad? the wife is not one for the Surf so compromised with turf or the greens. One fantastic dish.
Service was impeccable.
I hope the pictures I have added will do some justice to the actuals.
Found a voucher from Grabone. It was really close to home so we just got this deal. The two mains we had were beef eye fillet and the lamb.
The lamb was awesome. It would be perfect if the rack could be slightly less cooked. The rump and the soup were quite amazing. And I really enjoy the shot of soup. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who eats meat.
The beef was average but with a decent portion. Well does not make it sound any better. Actually I like all the ingredients in this dish, everything. But I'm not sure if that piece of bacon went well with the beef. I feel the tastes split in my mouth. It would be better if searing both sides for longer, just guessing.
The staff members were friendly.
One thing I feel uncomfortable is the lights in the middle were too bright. Even though we sat near the windows it was still disturbing.
Went there a few weeks ago and found the meals were very, very good. A bit pricey but can't argue with the quality. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken. The waitress wanting to make sure we were aware that it is likely to take about 40 minutes to cook. Now I'm not a "chef" but a reasonably good cook and 40 minutes seemed excessive but hey maybe that's why I'm not a chef!! My filet steak was perfection. Minor point but if it is a really hot day, putting patrons in the conservatory without any air conditioning needs urgent attention. Some poor bugger in the corner was really uncomfortable waiting for his meal!!!!
A lovely warm quirky restaurant, where the food was absolutely delicious, especially the seafood chowder!
Great automotive themed restaurant, great friendly service, good sized portions offering good value
Lovely place for a drink and a bar snack. Very family friendly and accommodating. Place was both warm and inviting. Love all the history everywhere, was a great read. Kylie was an absolute superstar, super friendly and makes a great lemon lime bitters pitcher... She's an asset to the company, look after her :)
Great food, super nice stuff!
AMAZING FOOD! Had the steak that was cooked to perfection and absolutely melted in my mouth. The duck fat roasted potatoes were also life changing and an outstanding dessert to finish. Staff were super helpful, friendly and patient with kids. Couldn't recommend anywhere better - will definitely be returning.
Friendly service. delicious food! Good bar snack menu and great service.
We stayed at Pavilions and chose to dine in rather than out. Jimmy's was offering a reduced menu on our night and although our first choices which are on the online menu were no longer available, we chose others which turned out to be excellent. She had a steak on the bone and I had the lamb, both of which were perfectly cooked and well-presented.
Service was good and very casual but suited us :)
All up, a wonderful meal, with lovely wine. Glad we went.
Fun place friendly staff and lots to look at and food is good so take some time
Great place to stay.
Wonderful service and great people. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks from all of us.
We came here with our 2 sons for a birthday dinner for my partner. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. We were really stoked with the experience and decided we'd make sure we wrote a review based on food and service. Then the owner, Graeme Horncastle, came to personally introduce himself and thank us for coming to his restaurant, that made the experience so much more special for us all. We went to reception to pay and, bless him, Graeme was back with a bag of lollies each for our boys and he'd even gone so far as to find 2 coke cans with champ written on them. What a wonderful man, what a wonderful restaurant. We feel honored to have had the experience we had with such a spectacular human being. Thank you so much Graeme and the staff, you made our night really special. We will definitely be back.
Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful food.
Amazingly themed and great tasting food.
Everything was perfect, the service, the food and wine, the setting and the company, thank you Sammy and Jake for taking us there
