A lovely atmosphere with with friendly staff and unique decor. There was a great selection of both menu and cabinet foods. Many options had something special that lifted them above standard cafe items. The food was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back to try more options. It’s wonderful on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the calm environment while the children have lots to see.
We loved the special glassware for the milkshakes and coffees.
The first time we went there the coffee was great.
The second time we were there the coffee was less than spectacular, and there was a 20% holiday surcharge meaning the sandwich and coffee I got was $40. It was a great pulled pork sandwich though.
The eggs bene was served on a scone too which was a choice I would’ve have made.
Very friendly service by the cute guy behind the counter.
Very good pies. Good coffee.
But unfortunately we haven’t had the chance to try their food as kitchen closed at 2pm on Saturdays (door closes at 4pm)
What an awesome unique cafe. The cheese scone was perfect as was the coffee. The owner very humorous and honest. Accidentally overcharged us but came out apologised and refunded. This is a place that I will happily be going back to. Brilliant
Had the most beautiful coffee and chicken waffles today. Chatted with the staff and owner who were all so lovely and inviting.
Charlie the cat was a beautiful wee bonus! Couldn't recommend the place highly enough will so be back 💕😍
Super cute cafe with unbelievable sweet treats. Very friendly staff. I had a white chocolate raspberry muffin and mocha! Both were great. Perfect stop on the way to the Giant's house.
This is such a quaint place with a terrific atmosphere. The food was a delight. Very unique and well presented. Very friendly owner and wait staff. It's worth going for a drive outside of Christchurch for a treat sometime. There are healthy chooks wandering around outside. Apparently rabbits will be back there sometime soon too. Just loved the whole experience. You can even pick up some knitting if you are so inclined, and do it there to help make a blanket for a good cause. So gorgeous.
Stopped off to use the facilities and a bite to eat. Tables outside are a bit basic but there is a back section which would be nice with more tables/ umbrellas maybe a garden with a fountain and some of those gnomes everyone loves so much......
. Nice enough ambience inside. Very soliticious staff, happy to help. Not overly busy but a steady stream of people heading to and from Christchurch/ Akaroa/ Diamond Harbour.
Reasonably priced food and a pot of Earl Grey tea enough for 2.
Nice place . Last time I was here it was the Black Tulip (?).
Parking too.
Have called in on the odd occasion under it's many identities over the years when heading to or from Akaroa, the food, coffee and staff have always been excellent,
It would be worth making it a destination, heading to Akaroa it is a bit early to stop, coming back later in the day it is often closed.
Highly recommended. Six of us has brunch here and we had; scrambled eggs with bacon on sourdough bread, toasted sandwiches and 'spaghetti' pancakes. The food portions are large and very tasty. There is plenty of parking and lots of seating.
