Love the spanish vibe and court yard, very different to other bars in christchurch. Great rooms to sit in that are all a slightly different vibe. Good service, cocktails avaliable on request. Delicious tapas avaliable, spend $130 3 Tapas and 4 drinks. Is on the more expensive side, if your there for live music probably more reasonable. Good selection of wines, cocktails are good but expensive by comparison to other bars given I got basic cocktails.

So glad I finally found a Jazz bar in Chch. On entrance you are immediately transported to a very Mediterranean settings with a open veranda and a bar tucked away inside. There is no fixed seating so you can move around as the evening unfolds and enjoy the music. The bartenders were awesome and while the drinks were on the drinks expensive side it was well worth it given the ambiance and music. The tapas were also really good and went down well with the drinks on offer. I fear I will be back regularly and will spend a lot of money at Vesuvio. Be warned all who enter here!

Lovely intimate wee spot for some good wine choices. They do their best on the food front considering the size and space they have for kitchen facilities. Service is always very attentive and more apparent after you have had two glasses of wine 🍷. It is not bad at all before that and I can appreciate the desire to keep you there as long as possible is driving that third conversation. But certainly it's just normal bar service for the first two glasses and no real engagement to make sure you get exactly the right wine you are looking for. We've been here 3 times now and it's always the same 😍.

We had wonderful service from the friendly staff. We asked for some specialty cocktails which were both interesting and yummy. The platter was also generous thanks team!

Great venue, absolutely love the space. Wasn't fond of the service generally. We got to the bar, one person being served so we settled to look at the drinks menu. Two people came up after us, the three of us were younger (late 20s early thirties) so I guess they assumed not worth serving or at least not a priority. The two older people were served immediately. When it eventually got to us I asked for a gin and tonic and asked what gins they recommended. Was told that it was all gin, maybe roots or a cheaper gin. (The girls had wines) I'd normally go for the sipsmiths but roots was fine. I'd have stayed for a few drinks but after the less than helpful service at the bar I decided not to try and order another. Cody came up and checked on us afterwards which was appreciated (he is always great). But I'd not recommend a visit unless you look like you are worth it to the staff (older and affluent). If you fit that description though, the venue is absolutely top notch and from the sound of the recommendations other people were getting they really know their wines which is always helpful.

Visiting from the UK. Absolutely loved the venue and the selection of drinks and small board food on offer. Staff were engaging, wines all tasted spot on and ultimately the atmosphere was perfect for the evening! It's set to expand with a larger tap room beer offer. Will definitely revisit!
