A hidden gem! fresh delicious and a favourite. Have eaten my way through the menu more than once. Lunch specials are a slightly smaller version of the mains. Great value for money.
SO GOOD. We arrived in Christchurch after a day of hiking in Arthur’s Pass, and Good Thai was the perfect appetite filler. We strayed from our usual pad Thai and instead got the pork panang curry and the chicken mussamun curry. The mussamun curry broth was a bit thinner, but it tasted creamier (perhaps more coconut cream/milk) and was less spicy. The panang curry was rich and definitely had a kick, even when I asked for less spicy lol. Our waitress was the best! Super fast and attentive. We enjoyed the light Thai beer as well. Amazing meal, amazing 10% off deal on Tuesdays & Wednesdays!
This restaurant serves me authentic Thai taste with good service. I 'd say that chefs take good care in selecting ingredients with reasonable price. Not only for Asians but also for the Westerners, I highly recommend going to this Thai restaurant.
Such great food and equally great service.
We had an awesome meal at Good Thai. I loved my Yum thai salad, the tastiest dish I've had in ages. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Even took photos of the family for us on our phones so we could all be included. Thank you :) we will be back
Wanted to try somewhere new, and read the wonderful reviews for this friendly Thai restaraunt.
VERY pleased we tried it - the food is good, the service friendly and the prices easy on the pocket.
A friendly welcome when we walked in, and smiling updates during the course of dinner was a wonderful reminder of just how good and friendly service can be.
We had a Pork ribs entree, Spicy Duck Curry, Tom Yam soup (fish) and Pad Thai.
The Ribs, eaten as the "chef's special" were a disappoint, they weren't terrible, but next time round we'd try something different (maybe the Thai Chicken wings).
Spicy Duck curry - quite sweet and nicely spiced. My partner described it as "kiwi version of Thai food" - and I must say I agree. I enjoyed it - with the lovely sweetness of grapes of pineapple, but it did seem to have been adjusted for local palates.
The Tom Yam was excellent! Really really enjoyed the spiciness.
Pad Thai was the star of the evening and we'll be back to get this again, most likely as a takeaway (tabao). Authentic with all the tastes that go with it.
What was also enjoyable for me was the chance to have an "Elephant Beer" (Chang) without which no Thai dinner is quite complete.
I'm totally not being fair - but I would really really love to see a Thai Mango Sticky Rice on the dessert menu instead of Cheese Cake (one reason this isn't fair is that I didn't try the cheesecake)
All in all - I know I haven't given five stars, but "Good Thai" really is GOOD Thai and I would recommend that you try for yourself!
Much better than “Good!”
I’ve lost count how many times I have been to Thailand, so I am always really pleased when I find a realistic Thai restaurant in Christchurch… and this place is Great!
I had the Thai Fish Cakes for entree, and larb Gai and basil chilli beef for main. Seriously good. All of it. :)
Ordered crispy pork drunken noodles as a takeout. Best drunken noodles ever!!
Lots of meat, lots of veges and ready in less than 10 minutes
Definitely recommend Good Thai
Have been past this place heaps of times and decided to book for last Saturday.
We were pleasantly surprised. Excellent food and service.
Would recommend.
Absolutely one of the best tasty meals I have ever had (do love a chilli). The staff are humble and attentive but not in your face. 10/10
Lovely food, great service, great price. A well known local landmark. Well worth a visit.
Very good food , exactly what I was after & had great flavour , service was very good polite staff and cater to all your needs. Peaceful environment and not too busy so perfect for a relaxing dinner out, will be returning soon :)
The best food ever and really good service. Keep up with the good work and make your customers smile.
Friendly restaurant serving authentic Thai food. The food is tasty and fragrant and not too spicy. Great value too. It is not too far from the airport making it easy for tourists staying near there. The staffs were friendly and helpful.
Nice food and friendly staff. Prices are affordable.
The food looks good and tastes nice, I don't know a lot about Thai food style. The staff was friendly and nice, but personally, I prefer food without any sugar.
One of the few places that accepted card so we went here. Food was yummy and was a good portion.
Authentic Thai food. Place was recommended by my Thai student. Great tasty food and good value. Even Thai beer is available.
I would highly recommend this place . Love noodles soup there.
Really great food, very well priced
