Amazing place! Fantastic banchan, and best kimchi stew I have ever had. We come here often and would reccomend it to everyone!

They have some really awesome soups!! And the bibimbap is to die for.
The only problem is that it is a very tiny restaurant, so it's always full.
Food, service and ambiance were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their spicy rice cakes and galbitang! I often eat here with friends. This week I have ordered two takeaways from them!
I have to say I love this place. I come here at least 5-6 times a month. I usually go for the Kimchi Stew .. okay, maybe usually is wrong as I "always" go for the kimchi stew. I just love their stew. Its amazing compared to the other Korean restaurants that I have been to for kimchi stew.
I have tried their bulgogi before and their spicy pork and it was amazing as well.
Yes, their service might not be A + but you just need to know when the best time to go there. Went on their busiest times a couple of times due to late work finish times and yes, I saw .. it was probably a 'crap' one for some people but for me it was great! Probably because as I walk in they knew what I wanted haha.
But really boys and girls, if you like to try something new .. something along the lines of fermented cabbage .. have some kimchi stew!
Look the service is always going to be a bit hit an miss depending on the time you go, but if you know what to order (number 10, 25) maybe some cold spicy noodles if you want to try something different this place can't be beat hands down the best Korean food in Christchurch.
We ordered army stew and stir fry pork. It was quite good and it was abit too much for 3 people. Will be just nice for 4 people :) Affordable and the side dishes was good too.

Consistently great service, good food. Place doesn't look the best but the food and service more than make up for it and the price is definitely right.

Ye-Chon is one of Illams best kept secrets. This Korea joint hidden in the back alleys of Church Corner is one of my favourite places to grub up before heading out for a drink or two.
I've been religiously coming here with friends from Uni for the last couple of years and we always have a good time. The food is good value - it's always filling and cheap to boot. Under $20 main dishes with several no cost 'bon chon' side dishes Ye-Chon is incredibly good value for money, especially for those on a meager University student budget.
Staff are usually pretty busy but always friendly and accommodating. Decor is a little tired but it's comfortable.
I came here to eat by myself and the bulgogi was delicious. I had attentive service and generous helpings of the free snack dishes that are a great feature of Korean restaurants. The waiter helpfully confirmed something I had heard about Korean manners - that is was considered polite to eat one's rice with the spoon. The decore is a little tired, but I would happily return here next time I am staying in Riccarton.
Absolutely good! Nice food, friendly staff. It is the best Korean restaurant in christchurch. I will definitely visit again for trying another menu . 😋
It is a great dining place for family, especially if you have young kids. Very good food. However, not the same chef and staff all the time, so the experiences are not the same either. We usually come on Monday as we think the food tastes a bit better ^_^
Must-try Korean restaurant in Chch! Enjoyed a delicious dinner here. The male waiter in a black hoodie provided enthusiastic and warm service! Very tasty!

What can I say about Ye-chon?! If you want authentic Korean food. You have come to the right place!! There's a different selection from this branch as compared to the one on riccarton road. Either one are great! The service is great, very friendly staff and the food is A-M-A-Zing.

Alternative choice to the other Yechon, if you don't want BBQ, it's much quieter which is suitable for gathering. Food is great and authentic Korean style. Highly recommended. Only a few vegetarian options, need to ask server for details.
