Ate here when the pub turned us away at 7.15pm as they had closed the kitchen. The staff were super friendly and obliging and made us cod and chips with a side salad. Really good value and perfect for what we wanted. Super view down the harbour, probably the best view from any restaurant or bar in the Akaroa region. Only hint is please give the windows a good clean as a number of pesky flies had met their maker on the windows! In summary friendly, accommodating good food, great value, will be back.

I think what they sell as a wee country store is very good , it covers what is needed for items forgotten or run out of for campers and logals.

Summer 2016. It was a sunny day in February. We stop over at Duvauchelle, a small town on our way to Akaroa. It's on the Christchurch Akaroa Road at the tip of the Head Bay that is part of a much larger Duvauchelle Bay. The bay was so serene and peaceful, almost like a lake. You cannot see the horizon from here because the bay is almost surrounded by land...that's how unique the geography of this place is....the sea or the bay rather, has gone deep inwards into the land. Notice the names around here sounds very French. Not surprising because the areas around these parts of Akaroa were first settled by the French in the olden days.
