To be fair, we actually only went to this place as our first couple of choices were closed - well this is going to be our new place now! Open after 2.30 on a Sunday, lovely interior - even though we opted for take-away - wonderful and friendly service. Their deep fried squid is one of the best we have tasted in a while, pan friend pork dumplings, yum - definately looking forward to trying their menu out very soon! Thank you :)

We were lucky to have a table without booking. Ordering food on iPad is much easier. The decorations are old-fashion Chinese style which is very nice. Food is delicious, staff are friendly and my daughter loves her cute kids plates. BBQ lamb is really good, especially the seasoning. But if you don’t like spicy,make sure you tell the chef.
Awesome restaurant. Head waiter is quite fun, very sharp sense of humour, lovely guy.
Some of the dishes are amazing. If you like walnuts you have to try the walnut buns! 😱
They don't muck around, so some of the dishes are straight out of the steamer, just be aware they could still be very hot.

Excellent atmosphere kind staff. Dimsum also nice. Hope the 🌶 oil spicier. Tablet menu was impressed 👌
Just walked off the street to try this place. The ordering system is all done on an IPad, and I didn't know how to use it. The young guy said that he would order for us. By the time we ordered, we got the young lady who was not as helpful until I advised the above. Food was tasty and good-sized portions. I would go again. It would be nice to have an English menu so we know what the dishes are and what is in them.
Such a great experience dining here! The decor is so lovely, the waitress was super friendly, and the food was incredible.

Shanghai Bistro and Bar was amazing. It was the first time I had come but my wife recommended it. The food was amazing, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was great too. Reminded me of my time in China years ago. Thank you team for a great night.

Had the best dumplings by far in Christchurch. Noodles soups are bland, you need to enhance its taste with the condiments.
The Sheng Jian bao 生煎包 was well done, juicy with soup still in the bun - one of the harder dim sum to perfect but they did. Shrimp dumplings, siew mai, char siew BBQ pork bun and chicken noodles were all tasty. The xiao long bao on the other hand can be improved by perfecting the soup in the bun technique.
Enjoyed our dim sum lunch here. 👍
