Great fish and chips and it also appears to be the local favourite. Nice crab sticks, I’ve never found their food too greasy. Reasonable prices too
This take away has the best souvlakis. Plenty of meat and the lettuce, etc is always fresh. Helpful too, that they take phone orders. And always ready for when you go to pick your meals up. Really yummy.. I highly recommend them.
This shop is always really busy and full of people. Because it's cheap and tasty!! I'm very addicted to their fish n chips. The scoops are generous and cooked just right. And the menu has a great range of seafood. Yum yum!

Top notch local fish n chip shop. Small waiting area, a fridge with a limited range of beverages, but the highlight is the fish and the chips, which are excellent. A very well patronised shop and with good reason. As you would expect, there is no dining in, just be aware that if you are waiting in the small waiting area - it is pretty nippy during the winter months. Wrap up.
If you want really good fish n chips, as in really good, go here. You will not be disappointed.
Edgeware Takeaways makes great meals. Their takeaway is clean and tidy and staff were very efficient.
I only ordered some chips but as you can they were really very, very good. I intend to go back there and try some other choices from their menu and I am sure it will be very good. By the way parking is on the street but normally an issue.
Its also worthy mentioning that there they do a really good hamburger.

Very busy fish and chip (and much more) shop. I always phone my order in especially at peak times. Tonight the pineapple burger was great, fish (just the basic) was excellent and the chips were hot with lots of crunchie ones and there were plenty of them. We sometimes order souvlaki and they are always good.
Edgware Takeaways, take aways my heart more like it! I've lived all over the country and sampled some of the most reputable f n cs, the ones that people say are the best in the country, Auckland, Ham, Wellington... but those all lack the quality and selection that Edgware serves up. You've got the classic fried menu, classic, but the portions are about twice as big! I'm not kidding aye, get the fish, they're monsters! They do a mean curry spring roll fyi. The burgers are massive too, awesome selection, the fella in there will custom it out too if you ask. But the crowning jewel of this place are the souvlakis. They're so good aye, should be serving them in a full on Greek restaurant... I sometimes wake up at night in a cold sweat and shaking if I haven't had a large, with extra lamb in a few days. Best chippa in NZ in my opinion and from my experience. Also really clean with good in door and outdoor seating.
Busy shop, recommend ordering ahead on Friday nights. For what I paid, the serving size was good. Fish wasn't all batter, no fillet, and good size portions, too.

Highly recommend for a cheap fast filling meal. I’ve had the souvlaki for lunch and a chicken meal for dinner. Don’t let the small size of the place fool you - this place is good, fast, reasonably priced and VERY POPULAR, especially on Friday evenings. Note that if you’re getting anything other than fish and chips on a Friday evening during the rush hours of between 5 and 8, you can expect a small wait as they work through getting the fish and chips cooked in batches to get people out the door with their food.
There are also benches outside for eating, if you want to eat on the spot.
Excellent place for quick takeaway lunch. Souvlaki Falafel is delicious and comes in a great portion size. Regular size is sufficient for one person. Highly recommended.
