Great little place and it is located very close to lots of 180 minutes parking around. Very good range of delicious food with great presentation. Comparing the price paid with the effort put on preparation and taste is well worth it. Went as a couple and will definitely go back with the whole family next.
Heard about this newly opened restaurant near our neighbourhood and decided to give it a go. Got there slightly earlier than dinner time, hence it wasn't too crowded. The waitstaff was very lovely and recommended us to try their signature fried chicken and we weren't disappointed. Definitely a must try! Their sweet lotus-seed chowder is also very refreshing! Would recommend it on a hot summer day 😋 Love the minimalist design of the restaurant and would give their service a 10/10.
Friendly service, and delicious food.enjoyable environment.with reasonable price. Really a good place ton hangout with friends.
Chanced here and was absolutely delighted with HAO Eatery. The roast pork belly and home made noodle are the best!!! Definitely will come back for more!
Came here after lunch, ordered the dessert which is amazing!good service, the food worth the price. definitely will come back!
Nice place for Asian food. Friendly staff, portions are good, and food is tasty.
Had family dinner last night. Very busy a little bit waiting . But the food is very fresh and tasty. Food made with love. Kids Love the dumpling. 100% homemade not many shop will do that. Staff are very friendly and patient. Got a little bit discount from the lovely guy.
We chanced upon this new eatery and decided to try the food. As we are a pretty large group, we ordered quite a number of dishes, consisting of mains, hotpot and desserts. All the food are really good and we highly recommend this place! :) service is also superb and sincere, great job guys!
We popped in for a late lunch. Ordered the spicy chicken salad and some dumplings. Both were wonderful.
The Sichuan spices in the salad were delicious and dumplings were light and tasty. All the food was fresh and full of flavour.
This is the best Sichuan style food I have eaten in Christchurch. We will dine here again.
My family and I celebrated the beginning of the Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year with lunch at Hao yesterday and the food and service was great. The seafood platter was especially impressive. Would definitely go back for a meal. Thank you for looking after us so well.
18th November 2019 - the food is delicious as always. However, if you can't finish the food and need a takeaway container, they charge 50 cents to your bill. So, you can either finish eating, or order enough for yourself, or leave it, or bring your own food container(s). The choice is yours 😁😜😆😄.
8th June 2019 - This is a relatively new Chinese restaurant that is located at Tower Junction. It is quite visible at the intersection of Whiteleigh Ave and Troupe Dr.
Anyway, the interior layout is well set up with multiple standard dining tables and chairs, as well as two long bar tables with 8 bar stools that are located in the corner (it is now becomes my favourite corner). The place is well-decorated with the old fashioned printed photos hanging on the walls. It is also well lit and it feels very cosy.
The menu is very straightforward with Chinese and English wordings (you can always ask for help from the nice lady if you can't decide what to eat like me 🤔). It is not overwhelming (which is a good thing) with choices but rather nicely balanced. They also sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks🍷🍺🍹🥃🥛.
I’ve ordered Slow Cooked Pork in Steamed Bao Buns (荷叶饼酱香肉), Spicy and Sour Chitterling Noodle Soup 酸辣肥肠面 and Egg Fried Noodle 鸡蛋时蔬炒面. I had a quick taste of the egg fried noodle dish and I must say, it was quite nice and tasty.
The Slow Cooked Pork in Steamed Bao Buns (荷叶饼酱香肉) comes with 8 small bite size “mini” bao buns. It is kinda like pork mince stuffed inside each soft white dough bao bun. It was enjoyable as the pork mince itself was savoury and well-seasoned, and it goes very well with the "spongy" white bao buns.
As for my main meal, well you guess it, I had the “Spicy 🌶️ and Sour Chitterling Noodle Soup (酸辣肥肠面)”. This dish is not for everyone; not because of the spiciness and/ or sourness, but because of innards (specifically pork intestines). The soup base/ broth comes with three different levels of spiciness; normal, hot (大辣) and extreme (超辣). I chose hot (大辣) because I like sour and spicy. I must say that the taste for this soup base/ broth is quite flavoursome (partly because of sour vegetable) and I finished everything because it was that good (IMO)!!!. The noodles that they use is similar to flat noodles but the texture is a bit springy. This is easily one of my favourite dishes.
Overall, it was a good experience from this Chinese restaurant.
Good portion sizes.
This is a child-friendly restaurant.
This is a licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is no outdoor dining area.
There is plenty of onsite parking 🅿.
They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know).
Would I go back? Yes 😀. Well worth a try and you will not be disappointed.
Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. It was delish and yummy 😋.
Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Relax and cosy.
Price: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonable pricing compared to other Chinese restaurants in Christchurch.
Customer service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Friendly staff. I didn't make any reservations. We were lucky to get a table as it became busy at around 630pm. I strongly recommend that you make a reservation as to avoid any disappointment.
Amazing food which was worth the wait - yes there was a wait on the night of the Phil Collins concert but that didn’t come as a surprise as the staff did advise anyone who wished to order that there was a delay. Despite being under pressure the food was still cooked to perfection and is by far some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in Christchurch. Thanks heaps and we will be back!
Lunch. XO chicken: delicious but for next time less salt and oil. Egg Fried noodles: good, lots of vegetables, please less salt and needs to be 'drier' otherwise change description to hokkien noodles. Seafood soup: great but please less salt. Deep fried milk dessert: change from pastry wrap to batter type outer layer. The inside is perfect but the pastry outer doesn't suit the dish. Also turn on the air conditioner as it got a little too warm during lunch. Still 5 stars. Good foundations.
Great place to eat! Meals came out super quick, were more than large enough, and were super tasty. Will definitely be going back :)
Visited for lunch with a work colleague. Good choices for meals, different size options. Fresh veg and salad greens. Tender meat. Good flavours.
I ordered the pot sticker dumpling set and it was really good. Awesome customer service. Will definitely go again
Worth the wait because when our orders were served, they were amazing. We’ll definitely come back. Can you open on Sundays ?
