Thankful for the dedication of all the doctors & nurses here. My newborn daughter was seen by ear, nose and throat specialists & speech therapists for a feeding assessment. Both encounters were great, staff were friendly and welcoming. They were able to provide answers & recommendations to us. The only negative was the shuttle service, it’s a great idea. But it was either too full or not on time, and waiting with a newborn on a cold wet day is not ideal.
The nursing staff, doctors and surgeons here are amazing!! So attentive, caring and thorough! One of the most professionally run hospitals that I have been too! Thank you so much for making my stay comfortable, stress free and for making me feel valued and cared about like a human being! I really appreciate and thank you all for your hard work and dedication, Emergency Department and Ward B3, October 2023
Every member of staff I interacted with were friendly, understanding and gentle. They listened to my concerns and did everything in their power to ensure I was comfortable and happy. I could not be more grateful and happy with the care I received.
(Also the meals are delicious!! Huge thanks to the kitchen staff too!)
I want to take a moment to share a positive review of my experience at Christchurch Hospital back in 2003. I underwent a spleen removal procedure, and I can't express enough how grateful I am for the care I received during my time there.
From the very beginning, the medical staff at Christchurch Hospital exhibited professionalism and genuine compassion. The surgical team ensured that I understood the procedure and its implications thoroughly, addressing all of my concerns and questions with patience and kindness. Their willingness to take the time to ease my anxieties truly made a significant difference.
The pre-operative and post-operative care I received was exceptional. The nurses were attentive, responsive, and supportive, guiding me through the process and ensuring my comfort at every step. It's worth noting that the hospital's facilities were well-maintained and organized, creating an environment that contributed positively to the overall experience.
During my recovery, the medical team provided clear instructions and guidance, empowering me to take an active role in my healing process. They made sure that I felt informed about my condition and the necessary follow-up care, fostering a sense of confidence in the treatment plan.
The kindness and empathy of the hospital staff extended beyond the medical aspects. They recognized the emotional and psychological impact of undergoing surgery and were sensitive to my emotional needs, creating a holistic approach to my recovery.
Looking back, my experience at Christchurch Hospital in 2003 was truly remarkable. The medical care, professionalism, and compassion I encountered played a pivotal role in my healing journey. I am grateful to the entire team who contributed to my well-being during that time, and I hold nothing but admiration for their dedication and commitment to their patients' welfare.
Doctors and staff are very personable. Facility is very nice. Went to ER for a checkup after getting in an accident with another car and everyone was very kind and the process quick.
The only down side was getting a parking ticket. I was still in a bit of shock from the accident and blanked on 30 min parking signs.
I had to spend a day in the medical day unit. Actually 2 days within a fortnight. I received an infusion each time, which took approximately 6 to 7 hours. The nurses on this ward were not only professional but empathetic.
Cara the nurse who assisted me on my first visit; read me like a book. She could see my unease, and put her 26yrs of experience as a medical professional to good use. I have nothing but respect and admiration for this woman.
Second vist; Nea was my wonderful nurse. Once more I felt at ease with such a competent team member by my side.
Every nurse in this team was welcoming and truly a delight to spend the day with. I was even impressed by the orderlies here.
Best experience for a scaredpants like me. Appreciation score is 76.
Praise where praise is due, having developed a reoccurring ailment and have unfortunately had to be admitted several times , I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone from the specialist surgeons to the orderly’s and cleaners .
Everyone does their specific job to a tee.
Every member of staff excluding no one have been nothing but courteous, polite, respectful and extremely knowledgeable and helpful to their he upmost.
Sadly a trip to the hospital in a patient capacity is never a nice thing to contemplate, but the staff here puts you at ease. Well done everyone at Christchurch Hospital.

Cannot speak highly enough of everyone at Christchurch hospital. I was admitted into Ward B8 for 12 days. The care was of an excellent standard from the very top ( Neurosurgeon) to the nurses, carers, and the delivery of food. A sincere thanks.

Hands down Christchurch Hospital has been a very comfortable admittance. From first responders coming to Hanmer Springs early this morning to the sound understanding of my condition by the nurses and doctors, you can’t ask for much more. Great empathy and tender care provided.
We visited children's Outpatient surgical clinic on the riverside lower ground today. They have a latched gate which was very secure for toddlers and their wait area has a Thomas the train, fish tank with bubbling crocodile, car track and some trucks and tractor toys, great for younger children and hard to make them leave the place for leave the wait room to go to the clinics. A friendly St John's volunteer at the wait area to support visiting families. Friendly doctors and receptionists. The only thing disappointed us was there was also a registra in the room, it's part of her learning apparently. However, we weren't told that she was going to be there hearing our son's report beforehand, it's private stuff, getting our consent should be the basic. There's definitely room for improvement.
I cannot thank christchurch hospital enough. The staff were beyond amazing so friendly so caring and so understanding. They actually listened to me and my symptoms and I finally had a diagnosis after months of no answers at my dr. They gave me advice on what my dr needs to test for also so I can rule out apsolutly everything. The free wifi is a plus after 3 days admission and nill by mouth that helped ease my anxiety in a town I was not from. I cannot fault the staff and dedication they have for there patients. Thank you
