On The Rocks Sumner - Christchurch - Photo album

They have the best clam chowder and big breky. I swear you'll not regret coming here. Also they serve good coffee just so that if you want to taste their menus you need to go there before 2:00pm cause their kitchen closes. But yeah if you are fond of seafood dishes, you need to visit this place! It
Nothing too exciting but a historical monument. Wish we would climb up the clock tower but we can't. This is also a good place to sit down and wave to the waves.
Great place to relax
Haven't been here for along time. Probably since the earthquakes, so it has been nice to revisit Sumner, Scarborough.
We took our mokopuna (grandaughter) to the beach as this was her first time ,she had so much fun touching/picking up sand, eating the sand, jumping waves and watching the water rush under her feet as it went back out to sea. Such a memorable time for me to just be present watching her enjoy herself
Clock tower has been there for as long as I can remember. Dates back to the 1930s. Has been restored after the Christchurch earthquakes. It is the iconic Scarborough land mark.
My local surf spot, I try to surf it everyday. A great place for longboard surfing.
Great beach a fabulous walk and nice places to eat or drink nearby
Fantastic beach. Long and wide and quite clean. Good for a morning walk with the hound.
Nice place for weekend walk with family.
Good coffee as usual. We were fortunate to get the last two scones as we arrived about 11.30. Most other times when we get there later there are none left. Please make more scones!
We were going for a walk with friends coming from Taylor's Mistake and the Clock Tower was our point of rendez-vous ☺️🙂. There is plenty of parking spot around the Scarborough Field and from there you have access to the beach to go for a swim or for surfing. The Esplanade is a nice flat walking path
Really popular with children, plenty of seating for parents or grandparents,to sit and watch the little ones, paddling pool within walking distance, great place, with beach close by
Sea, esplanard, shop selling ice creams. Or sit down to lovely food or nice coffee or tea. It's the perfect beginning of a lovely walk with your best friend in the fresh sea air. There's even an awesome playground for the kids of all ages to play on while you have a catchup with a friend.
So much fun especially the water park
Great view out on to the beach and ocean. Can usually see cargo ships in the distance. The nearby park is pretty cool as well with some nifty equipment for all ages.
Great beach to walk on when the tide is out. Has has a asphalt path alongside the beach that goes along way. Shops and restaurants nearby worth visiting.
Love this area of Christchurch. Terrific barbecue/picnic areas, children's playground, swimming pool for little ones and the lovely ocean, good restaurant and take away bar.
