SENSATIONAL! VERY AFFORDABLE! An absolute must especially if your Vegetarian/Vegan. Try one of their Chaat, Paratha Combo, Kulcha Combo, or Starters — highly recommend. Over two days my partner and I tried their Bread Pakora, Samosa Chaat, Chole Bhature, Mixed Veg Kulcha with Chole, Masala Uttapam, Brown Chum Chum, Kaju Burfi, and Milk Mysore Pak. Absolutely everything was delicious and unbelievably cheap! I cannot wait to go back. Stoked to see they have a store in Hastings, too. Very modern interior, very sleek and comfortable.

A welcome find on cold wet public holiday. Excellent service and really good food. We we were too full to try the sweets but they look great. …. next time. Lots of seating. Casual dining. Easy to find with lots of parking around the area.

A good one. We tried Roshogolla (Rasgulla), Kalojam (Gulabjamun), Dahi-puri (Doi Fuchka) and Chole Bhaturey. We loved the tastes of all the foods. It's very authentic. The sweet items will give you the real (almost) taste of Indian cuisine. It's not full of Kewra & Rose water which is nice. The Dahi-puri was served nicely with 4/5 different sides, full of variations of flavors. The management is a bit down, not attentive to the customers. Serving was a bit unprofessional. Our dishes were served without any napkin/tissue papers. Toilets were not cleaned. The food price is reasonable. A good place to try without spending a lot of money. The location is good, in the middle of the central city of Christchurch. Therefore you may find it a bit tricky to find a convenient place to park your vehicle. Road side parking is not very expensive, $2.00 an hour. Overall experience is good, not bad. We will visit again as we are big fans of Indian sweets. Thank you :)

Love coming to this place for a real authentic taste of indian street food and sweets. The service is always quick and courteous. Our server, a young smilng girl, was outstanding. We loved everything we tried. The tea was flavorsome, hot and milky. Samosas, bread pakoras and chana masala eere all outstanding. The textures and the spice level in all the dishes were just perfect. The chutneys complimented the dishes well too. Strongly recommended if you want a flavorsome treat in a casual atmosphere.

Had a lovely, fulfilling brunch experience here at Bolina before heading out on a long drive . It was the only Indian restaurant open at 10am. Honestly, as it’s primarily focused on North Indian cuisine, most of the dishes were extremely delightful. I enjoyed their pani puri , paneer pakoda, tandoori mushrooms, samosa chaat , Gobi paratha a lot, they were super scrumptious. They have a wide selection of Indian sweets in the cabin which looked absolutely decadent, out of which we tried rasamalai, we were in awe of it’s flavour that took us back home.😋 Service was fast and the staff was extremely polite and courteous. It’s a great and comfortable atmosphere. Being a South Indian ,few dishes like idli, dosa and uthappam didn’t make it’s mark like the other ones but I’d look forward to visit here again when in town .

Dry nice restaurant with many vegetarian options, perfect for vegetarian people and also they got really good sweets which are fresh. I liked the pani puri most, it was spicy though tasted nice( don’t order if you can’t handle spice, must try if love spicy).

Went there during a week day in the evening. Just few people were there. Everything was fast. Coming to the important part, the food. It's the second Indian restaurant I went to in Christchurch. And it was better than expected. Exact taste from India and not kiwi oriented. Will be going in again. More update to follow.

The food is absolutely delicious! Ordered papdi chaat and gobi manchurian for starter and palak paneer and butter paneer for main. All the food was so tasty and came out fairly quickly. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is good too with nice punjab music :)

A chance time alone for an afternoon in Christchurch enabled me to break out and try some new eateries. This is rather unique. 1... Because it looked nothing like a restaurant as the door is so dark it looks closed but 2 it's uniqueness as an Indian sweets restaurant made it something I had not experienced before. I tried the peanut balls and the red soft balls. Both really nice and very unique. I also went for a masala tea. Sadly that was poor. No better than an English breakfast with curry powder added. So yes I enjoyed the nice big comphy couch seats and the uniqueness of an Indian sweet shop resturant

Excellent place for North Indian-style food and an array of delicious sweets and chats. Bolina has also extended its menu by adding popular South Indian cuisines. A must-visit place for sweet lovers and chat pata chat eaters.

Bolina Indian Sweets and Restaurant is a pure vegetarian restaurant that serves delicious, flavorful Indian food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are always happy to make recommendations. The prices are reasonable, and you can get a delicious meal for a good price. I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu, and everything I've had has been excellent. My favorites include the lamb vindaloo, the chicken tikka masala, and the butter chicken. The naan is also excellent, and the chutneys are delicious. One of the things I love most about Bolina is that it is a pure vegetarian restaurant. This means that all of the food is made without any meat, poultry, or fish. This makes it a great option for vegetarians and vegans, as well as anyone who is looking for a healthy and flavorful meal. Overall, I highly recommend Bolina Indian Sweets and Restaurant. It's a great place to enjoy delicious Indian food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. **Here are some specific things I loved about Bolina:** * The food is absolutely delicious. You can almost disregard the stars. I'll try describe my latest experience: a cool cloudy otautahi winter outside. 12pm. Enter the dim atmosphere that's a mix of industrial (brick themed wall, iron caged hanging lamps) and regal (gold floral wall, overall gold tone thanks to excellent lighting) to a warm indian backing track. Greeted with a smile, welcome, shown a seat. I start with the Indian chai. Well spiced and creamy. The menu is solely vegetarian which might lose a few people. In my opinion, although meat is delicious in Indian cuisine, people appreciate the range of flavours and stretchy soft naan. The meat texture is replaced by grilled cheese, mushroom, cauliflower, capsicum and I think almost match the desired effect of meat. Just not quite. I had the paneer tikka masala (medium heat), with plain naan. Fresh flavours and rich sauce with a perfect (no exaggeration) consistency. This place is very well known for its samosa around here with a delicious bbq type sauce to dip into. They do not skint on amount of sauce. 5/5 delicious and warm atmos. Relaxed but effective service
