As a stuff at Novotel I took my family to the lane for my sister’s birthday. The staff there from dinner (there were only two staffs working that night in the restaurant, a young lady and man) they were so lovely. The service was amazing & they were very understanding. The way they both served us was super professional even though we were the loudest there (sorry lol) celebrating my sister but they made us feel comfortable in the environment. I gave the guy staff instructions for my sister’s cake and he listened and did exactly that. Thankyou to both of the staff for making my sister and family feel welcomed and special! Thankyou for my sister’s dinner. The cocktails looked so presentable and it tasted good! Shout out to Han and the lovely lady receptionist who wears glasses, black hair for looking after us and welcoming us with open arms and welcoming us with such beautiful service they were so amazing & thankyou for keeping my sister’s cake safe. Definitely going back to the lane and definitely staying at Sudima hotel more. Room was so amazing! My family loved the whole experience! Made our experience esp my sister’s birthday night!

Amazing food. Great service. Broccolini was superb. We both had the 200gm steak and they were a little overcooked, but the flavours were insane with the bone marrow and potato gratin. Room was a bit quiet, would have been nice to have some music

This was the first place we went to once I got picked up from the airport. It was Christmas day and most places were obviously shut. We were served by BugZ, who was hilarious, joking around with us as though we were long lost friends. We had lots of laughs. It’s a wee place with a nice relaxing vibe. Soon after sitting, we ordered our food, lots of options, which was nice, I had the French toast ($16). We were also given Christmas crackers so it was somewhat a cracking good time.

Dinner night out with friends Great service even though busy. Had a few entrees to share and cocktails. Couldn't choose just one so had a few, they were all lovely and yum.

The Lane is a great place to have a drink and something to eat. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. It is located next to the Sudima and has a wonderful buffet breakfast and excellent coffee.

Cute brunch place! Food was yum and service was great. We got the roast lamb hash (lamb wasn’t as prevalent as expected) and flat white (more of a cappuccino tbh). Portions weren’t too big which I appreciated.

Amazing dinner, maybe the best lamb we have had. The pumpkin pasta, shrimp, and doughnut appetizers were also great. The only thing we didn’t absolutely love was the cheesecake dessert which had a burnt caramel taste.

My partner and I were here for the very first time, and it was very good. I had the steak very nice cooked, and my partner had the Lamb, and it melted in your mouth. Highly recommend

I’ve found the service to be quite slow but once served very personable. Atmosphere can seem a bit chaotic.

Lunch time visit. Nice spot but quiet. A bit of music may help. Nice menu. Had the philly cheesesteak sandwich tasty and reasonably priced at $18. Good coffee Attentive service. Will go again Would recommend.

Simply amazing food that is gorgeously cooked! Came in not knowing what to expect for a Good Friday breakfast. Menu didn't instantly grab me but I left amazed at the quality of the food (even at a reasonable price!). Everyone's meal at out table looked delicious. Fat on lamb was rendered beautifully and mash was silky smooth and full of flavour! This is one of Christchurch's hidden gems, we will be back!

Had a great meal at The Lane on a Saturday evening. The menu is Bistro orientated and a little different. Enjoyed the seared Scallops and Broccoli Doughnuts for entree. Enjoyed the Fish of the Day and the Chicken Schnitzel for mains. Dessert were limited but very good. Excellent modern venue. Excellent service. Great Kiwi tap beer. Great wine list. Free two hour parking close by.
