We tried the Sunday special fish thali, it was delicious just like home. The vada pav and dabeli were yummy too.

Had an awesome experience at the place, they made lip smacking dabeli, chicken wrap, egg wrap and pao bhaji. So far best in town, was in awe of hospitality too, do order from them if you like authentic taste of Indian food, and do try their coffee…. Loved the food and the staff too…
We are a regular customer of Mumbai local since past year and the food is scrumptious. We have tried all the dishes from the menu and everything is always packed with flavours and made with fresh great quality ingredients. The food is superlative with an amazing blend of Indian spices. If you are craving for authentic bold Indian flavours then this place is a must try. Highly recommend it.

I Love Mumbai! The food is really tasty, the decor is very cool and interesting, and efficient staff. The food arrives quickly and they have a separate vegan menu, so they cater for everyone. Looking forward to our next visit!
Home made food feeling just like I enjoyed in India.
I tried the fish thali and the chef was kind enough to serve egg curry to my wife who doesn't eat fish.
The best fish curry I have had outside India.
Food is priced right, generous portions and very tidy packaging.
Can't wait for them to move from takeaway to dine in restaurant. They can easily become the top Indian restaurant.
The chef couple are also the owners and friendly people.
If you are looking for authentic and clean food this is a hidden gem tucked away in nearby suburb of Christchurch. Had vada pav and dabeli and it was authentic. Must visit there we been there from someone’s recommendation yesterday and it was worth every single penny. It’s a shame that the business is doing so poor and at the verge of closing down soon. Show some support guys for great tasting food.
Tried their food for the first time and absolutely loved it. I was born in Mumbai so I used to always miss its street food. Heard about Mumbai local's food, so thought of giving it a go. Enjoyed their vadapav, cheese pav bhaji and hakka noodles. The flavours took me back to Mumbai. Will definitely go back there to try some other dishes.
Tried the vegetable biriyani today. Good quality, the biriyani was nice and fluffy. Highly recommend hot spiced vegetable biriyani from this place.

Was referred to the takeaway by one of my own staff who enjoys the food here. Really after 24 years I have thoroughly enjoyed my Vada Pav, which was a substantial fill. I also ordered many extras to gauge the food. Nothing less of tasty food, I must say. It was my first time last week, and I do not hesitate to recommend all to try them out. Absolutely amazing!!!!!! There is no reason for you not to try this new place. Specially for everyone who miss Mumbai Food, this is the place. It has items like Kathi roll, Chinese Bhel, Vada Paav, Misal paav. Name any Mumbai street food and it’s there on their menu. It’s a single person handling the whole outlet but trust me it is definitely worth the wait. I’ve tried all Indian street food restaurants in Christchurch and this is one of the best. And the PRICE is so reasonable 🙌🏻. Total value for money. We ordered food from there yesterday and couldn’t resist ordering it today as well.
