I took my staff here for our Xmas do brekki (there were 18 of us) and the food was amazing. The staff were lovely, I pre ordered all the meals before hand and they were served within 20min of us arriving which was great. The owner was fantastic to deal with. The meals were all generous sizes and everyone left with full bellys and a big smile 😀 I highly recommend to all!!!
BTW, I had the gluten free smashed avocado and it delicious (i posted a pic of it), my colleagues at my table had the burger (in the pic) which was huge and also delicious and the big brekki!
This mōrena I called into Weta Café for some kai and kāwhe. Arrived just after the advertised opening time to find the place packed.
Managed to get a good table still, and ordered my usual eggs Benedict with bacon, large cappuccino kāwhe with chocolate and a Iced chocolate drink.
Service was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely, had a really great vibe, and hum of conversation, kai and kāwhes being made, and people enjoying the delicious kai and good kāwhe.
Definitely a Café you need to visit at least once when in or passing thru Coromandel.
Lovely cafe with fresh ingredients. Not only is it great to visit if you're a human, but during my meal the cafe was also visited by a pair of ducks, a large tabby cat, and various energetic birds.
We woke up with a craving for eggs Bennie and did Weta cafe ever deliver! Great staff, super switched on and both meals came cooked and served to perfection.
The vegetarian version with Veggie Hash Cake, Mushies, fresh greens (and more) was spectacular.
And our coffees were both excellent as well as the good old classic tunes playing.
Top marks!
(They were a bit prettier when served but we had to taste test before deciding to post!)
Great food, especially the smashed avocado with halloumi. Eggs Benedict with pork belly was good too! Great coffee.
Would come back here again.
Awesome food, quiet and charming food nook, artworks on the walls and funky music playing in the background.
We visited Weta Cafe on our last day for brunch, they had amazing coffee and the food was absolutely delicious, generous portions and great value for money. Eggs poached perfectly, high praise to the chefs working here. Better than many Auckland cafes. My daughter enjoyed the cranola with fresh and poached fruits and coconut yogurt, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed the pork belly Benedict, and I the salmon.
Would highly recommend if visiting the area best are in town from our experience.

A hot date scone and a large cappuccino in a hip and friendly cafe steps away from Freedom camping. Unique breakfast and lunch menu. Highly recommended!
We had tasty takeaway hot chocolates here. Staff were friendly, the cafe was cute and they even had an adorable little dog and cat 🐈 😻 🐕
I am a very fussy foodie and all I can say about Wētā is WOW! I was very impressed.
A bustling cafe with a nice vibe. From the moment we stepped in, the staff were very attentive and light with humour and laughter and they even came out to ask if they could feed my dog (and the other two dogs here) an eye fillet steak which was gobbled up quickly - a lovely, warming surprise which we were absolutely shocked about.
The cafe has plenty of seating with a lovely covered outdoor area as well as inside seating.
I ordered a 1/2 portion of salmon eggs benedict. For $13 it had plenty of toppings with a perfectly runny poached egg. Everything cooked to perfection and the flavours were great. Hubby ordered the shaksuka with a side of mushrooms and he was raving about how delicious it was.
We will definitely be back; Highly recommended.
