We loved visiting goldfields. Our tour guide Christopher was excellent, he is so knowledgeable and explained everything really well. We learnt a lot and had lots of fun, panning at the end was a highlight.

We had a go at gold panning, visited the historic mining sites and huts and really enjoyed our visit and the friendly helpful staff. You can also get a coffee and lunch on site. Well worth a visit and if you are lucky there is still gold to be found. Allow 2-3 hrs if you get gold fever 😁

Nice walk, and you can pan for gold if you have the time. Really fun activity, pity I couldn't stay longer.

I must admit I was not sure what to expect, when I crossed the bridge but enjoyed it so much. The staff were friendly, and super helpful. I learnt so much about the history of the Golf fields, about Gold in general, and loved the lesson and experience of panning for Gold.

Very interesting place to visit if you are into gold mining history in New Zealand. Did the tour & tried gold panning while we were there, didn’t find any.
