ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS AND TRADITIONAL TURKISH FOOD! Finally!
Cuisine in New Zealand is hard to come across traditional foods from difference countries. Living in Toronto my whole life the options were endless!
We got the shareable platter between me and my boyfriend AND WE DEVOURED THE WHOLE THING!!
Thank you to our kiwi waiter (that sounded Canadian, but a traveler so he picked up multiple accents along the way). His service was polite and apologized for the long wait, but it was awesome when everything showed up and he asked if we wanted and EXPLAINED what was on our dish. ABSOLUTELY 5 star service. Thank you Kiwi Canadian sound-alike.
Not bland, great taste, not over salted, tabouli was so fresh. I wish the full pastry had some spinach in it, a bit too rich and creamy, but now I’m just being picky.
5 stars, would go back tomorrow if I lived in Dunedin. 1,000% must try. All the waiters actually were on point. Great service. Just the long wait (40-50min was a bit too much), but thankful we got a table. Until next time!
Visiting from Auckland, the city of great food so I was delightfully impressed by the food here! I split the Paasha plate with my mum and we were sooo full. Great friendly service too. I would not hesitate to return next time I’m in Dunedin.
Probably the best restaurant experience I've had. Found us a seat (no booking) on a busy night within 30 seconds and took our orders within a couple of minutes. Food then took no more than 10 minutes to come out and was the best Turkish I've eaten for a reasonable price. Got the paasha shared platter (for two), which was more than enough food. This dish had all the different meats available, and is a perfect dish for when you can't decide what to order. Our waters were instantly replaced when finished , and I can't find a fault with this restaurant if I tried. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely always delivers. Never misses the mark at all. Got a big sharing platter with all bits and it was absolutely delicious. There was something for everyone and it was so filling and suited my group well. I have been here multiple times and it has not once let me down. Absolutely recommend
Foods are really tasty and amounts are huge! Price was a bit expensive then expected.
Best Turkish food we have had in a veryyy long time!! The food was very tasty, and great portions.
Since we couldn’t decide what to choose, we ordered the shared plate for 2 with a mixed of meat and side dishes. My friends both ordered a lamb dish. The meat was just fresh, and grilled just right.
We also had some coffee, apple tea (too sweet for my taste), and the baklava dessert which was perfect.
The portion of the baklava was quite big and I wouldn’t order it for 1.
The restaurant was really busy for a Wednesday evening. So it might be smart to make reservations.
My only recommendation would be to add “Ayran” (Turkish yoghurt drink) to the drink list, (and make the Apple tea less sweet).
I had a medium lamb doner here and it was delicious! Even though it was only a medium there was so much food I couldn't finish and it was all very tasty. The meat is beautifully seasoned and very well traditionally prepared- the cooks really know what they are doing.
Service was very prompt despite them having quite a few customers- less than 10 minutes. Waitstaff were super friendly and helpful!
Price is also great. $13 for my very large and filling meal. I consider this a bargain for such good quality. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
Consider yourself lucky if ever you stumble upon this charming shop with amazing Middle Eastern food. Lamb mandi with meat so tender you could pull it apart gently. The tagine kofta blew us away with the meaty brothers gravy 🤤 amazing meal finished with some tea which they have many options of... such a perfect meal on a restful Sunday afternoon. Will definitely be back!
Really tasty food and friendly professional staff. We had a group of 9 and food all arrived together and everyone enjoyed it 😊
Fantastic customer service and awesome food! 👍👍👍😍 Highly recommended!!!
Went to Paasha after reading reviews on Google. We ordered LARGE Lamb Shish, Kofta Shish and Lamb Doner. I find the lamb doner a bit too 'lam(b)mi' for my taste but my kids were okay with it. The lamb and kofta shish were awesome! For sauces, we had the special, garlic and halep to share among 2 adults and 3 kids. My kids loved the food so much that they said they wanted to eat there again the next day and we did go back! And they said if they can give 10 stars, they will! 😊
Paasha Turkish Cafe clearly proves that one doesn't need too much salt or hot chilli to make food taste good. What is needed is the right blend of herbs and spices. We love the hummus, couscous and salad that came with the meat too!
Worthy to mention is the cheerful and friendly waiters/waitresses. They really make customers like us feel very welcome. We'll definitely eat at Paasha again the next time we're in Dunedin. Or if we're passing by Dunedin, we'll also stop by for food.
People, this is a very popular business where one is warmly welcomed with friendly staff. Although not called Iskender on the menu they happily made two, good sized $19 takaway chicken Iskender meals that had very nice flavours. However we felt the meals required more sauces as they were a little to dry.
Well worth trying

Good food, but I was expecting more amazing flavours or portions from the reviews I read before going.
Don't know thr name but our male waiter was very friendly and helpful. He warned my father that he was still getting used to the coffee machine and would be compensated if the coffer was burnt but the coffee was good, and the food was delicious
Friendly staff! Warm atmosphere! We came for dinner, with our two boys, and ordered the Passha Platter for 3--truely the Paasha experience! The staff gave our boys some colouring while we waited, and in no time our food was delivered. Not only delicious, but more that we could eat! We couldn't waste the remaining, so this was the first time we got our food left overs to go!! Would recommend to all, and especially to turkish food lovers!
Wonderful food and great service. The space, however, is very loud making conversation difficult.
Paasha is a great Turkish restaurant. We have the falafel and pumpkin meals and some french fries... Yum yum yum. Bread and dips are yummy too. Everytime we go here the service is awesome, warm, welcoming and attention to detail. Thanks Paasha
Very nice food and Coffee for a decent price, their charcoal flavor on the meat was especially nice.
Got the large Lamb doner and it was DELICIOUS!!! Fresh ingredients all around and highly recommend getting the Paasha secret sauce. Sunshine made an excellent doner!
Just think the place needs a real good clean. While sitting in the TakeAway sitting area I looked up and saw this above the coals area...yikes!!! That's dirt that's been there ALONG time, not just from that nights cooking, I've been around kitchens!!
