Cool vibes, sunny day, outdoor seating and super friendly staff. Cold beers, fish n chips and delish cauliflower pops. All good here for a relaxed catch up with friends and family. Great location for a thirst quenching session while missus shop.
Public holiday and most places were shut. Outdoors was packed so grabbed a seat inside. Perhaps the shift changing time so most staff busy making shift plans for the evening.
We order a couple of beers at the bar and sat down. One beer glass came with a 💋 mark. We somehow got attention of a server and her first comment on our complaint was " is that your lipstick?", pointing to the lady with me. How awkward was that? Eventually replacement beer was plonked in a coke glass on the table. There were atleast 7 staff working and at a modest.normal pay of $25/hour, all these guys were making $62.50/hour due to blessings of Aunty Jasinda on public holidays. We were paying 15% surcharge too. The basics of service industry is to care for customers. Staff seemed to be a great team serving each other but very little attention and smiles for customers.
This is prime location and most tourists end up in Octagon for dining. Wish we could show some more care rather than flair.
Very nice atmosphere and decor! Distinctive style and the unique vintage decoration really sets a comfortable but classy mood. I ordered the mango cider jar and it was DELICIOUS. Very refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet. I also ordered the crispy squid without sauce and it was very nice, great texture. Would definitely recommend and will be going again
Always loved the place- brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks. Great team.
The Hot Platter is a great sharing dish for the group.

Ate here twice. The fish & chips were good but nothing special. However the lamb which you cook yourself on a hot stone was excellent, probably because I could cook it the way I like it. Plus a good selection of beers on tap.
Great food. The garlic bread is some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely return when I’m back in Dunedin.

What a great place. Friendly staff greeted right away and the food was awesome. Not the mention Full wings! Pleasant surprise and a good time. We watched the olympics.

Place was great! Service was really nice, however occassionally they could have checked on us while we were eating. Early in to our meal my partner and I swapped. I'm vegetarian and ordered the veggie burger. We thought because of how it tasted, looked, and everything that I had been given a beef burger by accident. Just turns out it was an extremely well replicated beef patty as plant based. If you like the replica swap from beef to plant based I recommend that! Not for me though. The pasta that they had was insanely good though! Would recommend again!
A great place to have lunch or wind down after shopping. We had the hot platter which was perfect for sharing while enjoying a drink or two.
Chicken nibbles were amazing with a good price. Definitely worth to have a try.

Wonderful staff
Considering the restrictions at the moment, we had a wonderful dinner. Crispy chicken burger was thigh (Yum!!) and my lady had a GF salad which she says was beautiful. We had our 4 Y/O with us and she was well entertained. Staff were wonderful!!
