We ordered: Pine Smoked Salmon π $22.50 and Farmers Breakfast $23. Such a nice mealπ! Salmon was well cooked, sauce was delish, and Beetroot potato hash added a surprising element to the dish. All presented beautifully ππ½. Never had crispy egg before π₯but I love it!! Super yolky too π. Farmers breakfast was your classic big breakfast; bacon π₯, eggs π³ , sausages, bread slices π, tomatoes π
. Poached egg were super yolky there too! π
Average price: $23 incluing drinks
Vibes: brunch when family comes down to Dirty Duns and you want to go somewhere decent. π«
Parking: paid parking available on George, and side streets. π
Negative: canβt really think of anything except that our meal was a little expensive. But we did order one of the most expensive meals on the menu! Menu ranges from $9 (bread with butter/jam) so cater for all price points! ππ»
Loved: Despite being busy because of Ed Sheran, staff were friendly π, food came out at a decent time π, delicious π , great vibes π«, beautiful and brightπ! Outdoor seating and friendly staffπ»! One of the best reviews Iβve given so far surprisingly! π₯π₯π₯
Super friendly staff, great coffee and yummy food π they even went the extra mile and brought coffee to us at the hairdressers next door during the preparation for my daughter's wedding. Thanks so much team for helping make our special day extra special!β€οΈ
Went to Market Kitchen Dunedin today for lunch to try somewhere new. The cabinet food looked really good with a selection from french pastries to raw slices. The staff were really friendly with VERY GOOD SERVICE but seemed to have little knowledge of the menu as she couldnt even list what was in the chicken salad. The chicken salad was pretty small for being one of the most expensive menu items ($22.5) the chicken was quite dry. The server said it have avo which it didnt, and forgot to mention the largest ingredient of radish. I had the Ham Hock Hash which I was expecting to be some sort of hash brown or crispy potato atleast, instead it was more a warmed tin of beans with a wee bit of mash potato mixed in with the ham hock heated through. Completely not what I was expecting but maybe thats my fault. Definately one for the bean lovers haha. The men beside us got big breakfasts and they looked awesome... will definately be back to try some of the cabinet food, the coffee was also very good.
Nice atmosphere and clean. Pram friendly, high chair. Lovely coffee I highly reccomend.
Great breakfast menu and smoothies. Nice space great staff. Can get a bit noisy at peak times and tables are close together. Not ideal for in-depth conversations.
Superb chia pot and custom poached egg with greens. Fantastic quiet venue that serves good tea, quiet few options both for gluten free, dairy free.
Love this cafe so much. The coffee is reliably excellent. Thereβs a wide variety of interesting and yummy slices, muffins and scones too. I especially enjoy the scones, they are light in texture and tasty. Thereβs a good selection of vegan options in the meals too. The staff are friendly and helpful. I took my elderly parents here too and they really enjoyed the experience. It really is a cafe that all would enjoy. Excellent innovative food with superb coffee in a non pretentious and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!!
Usually come here for a substantial brunch, but came this time for good coffee and an opera cake that is a new favourite. Great service as always
Really good coffee, nice atmosphere and good food π
Wow best breakfast, friendly staff. A must in Dunedin. Will definitely be back.
One of my favourite coffee/breakfast destinations in Εtepoti/Dunedin! I've been to Market dozens of times and am always greeted by the friendly staff with a super warm welcome. The menu is lovely and gives a vegetarian like me some really great and flavorful options. I must say my favourite item is their date scones. I think they're the best in town. And of course the coffee is always on point. Whether you're visiting Dunedin, you live here, or you're a student - when you need your caffeine and yummy food fix, you'll find what you're looking for in this cozy spot. I also love how much the management prioritizes supporting local artists in this space. 10 outta 10, Market Kitchen checks all the boxes I'm looking for in a regular breakfast spot!
lovely cafe with delightful atmosphere and friendly staff. I would particularly recommend the smoothies for something light, but the menu food is affordable, generous, and delicious too - try something from the cabinet for a treat! extra recommend sitting outside on a sunny day and enjoy the george street vibe.
Tried the chickpea and chive pancakes - loved it! Need to go back and try their other menu items!
Busy cafe for late breakfast. (11am). Excellent service, fab coffee, large variety of food from a light snack to something more substantial. The hot cakes were ok. Not too fussed on the cinnamon butter. But berry compote was nice ....Will definitely be back to sample one of the amazing selections of pastries and slices. ππΌ
We stopped here for a quick breakfast before heading to tourist sites. Market Kitchen has a modern, relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a delicious cappuccino, poached eggs, toast with butter and jam and a pistachio cake.
We love this place - the atmosphere, the friendly efficient staff, the coffee, and of course the delicious wonderfully crafted flavourful food presented with love. The standard of service and presentation is top notch and an overall enjoyable experience each and every time. Thanks to all the team at MK!
Fresh, healthy, tasty food. Surroundings are bright, open and uncrowded. We had the Go-to -Plate with haloumi & the Veggie Fry with poached eggs ... the fried potatoes were amazing - really crunchy.
Yummy food (some great healthy vege options on the menu), good coffee, nice atmosphere. They have a pay it forward coffee card system on a board as you walk in which is a nice touch.
