My favourite Indian restaurant in Dunedin! The curries are actually spicy but well balanced, naan bread is perfection and the appetisers are full of flavour! Definitely my go to for Indian
We love this curry and get it delivered often. Really yummy and always good service. Tandoori, vegetarian dishes and butter chicken are always good.
We got take aways last night from Zaika and it was delicious.
We ordered the Handi Lamb and the Chicken Sabziwala and both were perfect. Lots of meat and yummy sauce.
The onion Bhajis are also yummy but the verge Pakoras would have been better with a lighter crisper batter.

We have dined in in the past and have never found the staff to be rude or unfriendly.
Overall we would highly recommend this restaurant
Just found this place recently and dined in the other night. I really enjoyed the entire dining experience - the food and the service! The staff were attentive and we were brought over poppadoms and water right at the start without having to ask, which was great. Overall our meals were very delicious! The spice level we asked for (hot) was perfect. I got a paneer dish and it was probably the best cooked from any restaurant I've been to in Dunedin (some others are a bit rubbery or chewy, but here it was perfect!). We were offered more rice without having to ask, which was also very nice. I would agree with the other reviewer that the food was not overly oily, especially our naan. Will definitely be going back there again! They also are BYO and have takeaways as well as in-house dining.
Excellent food, prompt service and a great place for families. Only thing they need to work on is advertising. I have been living in Dunedin since 2009 and came to know about this place in September 2013.
Highly recommended for Indian food lovers.
A relatively unknown Indian gem tucked away in Roslyn village. The dishes were all spicy and full of flavour, without being oily like many Indian restaurants can be. Staff were very friendly and attentive and meals arrived promptly. The free poppadoms at the start of the meal are a nice touch. Decor is not exactly fine dining, but easy to overlook with such wonderful food and service. Recommended!
Best Indian in Dunedin, we have been getting takeaways for years from Zaika and it’s always soo yummy! Never had a problem, only tonight I got home and realised our drinks weren’t in the bag, I phoned and they said we will bring them out to you straight away! I was expecting have to drive back so thought wow what amazing service! You don’t get that from many businesses these days! Soo appreciated! Thank you
We've ordered from here multiple times and never had more than a 15 minute wait for AMAZING Indian - as good as we ever had in London, Chicago, Sydney. We plan to work our way through the menu, everything has been so good! The prices are great and the service is lovely. It's authentic so ask for mild if you don't like it too spicy...
Very good food and a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal.
Without a doubt, the food was delicious. However, despite ordering the mild version of curries, it was a little too hot for us. I'd still recommend it if you're looking for some delicious Indian food.
Great genuine service, really enjoyed dining in here atmosphere was delightful from the lighting to the music and most of all the food! had the vege korma and butter chicken (med) so thick and creamy, flavorful and delicious! Definitely would recommend!
Tonight's Rogan Josh we ordered for takeaway was absolutely delicious. Superb flavours and perfectly cooked. Not overly sweet, the lamb was beautifully tender. The portion size was perfect with a good amount of rice. We will definitely return for more.
I ordered Chicken do Pyasa (onion gravy) recently with 2 roti and I absolutely enjoyed it. Great on taste, and happy with the service too. Would surely try again.
Used to come here when the shop was in Roslyn. Quality has not wavered in the seven year gap. Awesome food, thanks for the treat whilst I was home.
That was a best indian food I've had in a very long time - loved the smoky meat flavour in the lamb Saag Gosht, and the Peshwari Naan was delicious. Many thanks I will return!
Really good Indian food! We usually get Chicken Madras and Shahi Paneer, Naan bread and Mango Lassis - always delicious! If I remember correctly, curries are cheaper on Wednesdays.
These guys make, far and away, the best Indian food in all of Dunedin. Also their Mango Lasi is incredible. I never go anywhere else :)

Probably the best Indian in town. Great selection and plenty of spice! Solid selection of beer too.
