I wasn't expecting too much from it, as it's a small eatery. The regular sized pizza seemed a bit small, so between three we ordered one regular pizza, a beef and falafel kebab, and a garlic bread. At about $38, we thought this was a bit on the pricey side, but boy were we surprised.
The garlic bread turned out to be the large size, with a good helping of delicious hummus. The toppings on the cranberry and brie pizza was decent also, and the crust was crispy, the dough steamy, making it extremely enjoyable, and the garlic bread an amazing deal for $8.90 (though definitely not garlicky enough). But the biggest shocker would have been the kebab, a hulking mound of vegetables, incredibly tender beef, and tasty falafels, a mix of crispy, tender, melty textures wrapped in a 12-inch wrap.
Great value for money, and pretty good food.
Yilmaz is a authentic Turkish kebab and Pizza place that I visit every week at least once.. The pizzas are very good quality and the ingredients are always fresh. I like the beef kebab as well because normally you would find lamb kebabs in other turkish places. The owner is a happy and friendly person. Pricing could be hard for students but it is a total worth for its quality.
We were delighted to find this place.Yummy and tasty.Ordered a Supreme pizza which was very nice and had a great base as well. Also a kebab chicken wrap that was good too..So much better than one I reviewed recently although I didnt detect tomato in the tabbouleh and was surprised as they are in season.
Yummy pizza's, kebabs have heaps of delicious salad and sauces. Good value for money.
Very good Turkish food, very friendly staff. The pizza and garlic bread are kind of weird, but as long as you aren't expecting real Italian pizza, it's actually pretty good.
We highly recommend Yilmaz Gourmet Pizza & Kebabs. The apricot chicken pizza we had for lunch was devine. The crust was cooked perfectly and was very tasty itself and there was just the right amount of sweet apricot sauce making the pizza delicious.
Great kebabs, really nice pizzas. The Turkish dough pizza bases are different from your usual takeaway place and are always cooked to a perfect light crunch. Recommend the chili chicken pizza if you are after a little bit of a hot bite (my personal favorite).
The crust of their pizza and overall quality is far superior than the big ticket pizza places like Domino's and Pizza Hut, which explains the higher price of their pizzas. It is less than a five minute walk from our place but we don't order pizza from the place purely because the affordability. It is a gourmet and small operation. The place is very tidy and has a few tables where you can eat your pizza.
Always great quality, just wish they did lamb kebabs. Lots of veges and tabouleh, probably one of the healthier kebabs in town. The garlic bread and hummus is the best thing on the menu!
It's the third time I've eaten here and once again impressed by the kebabs. Being of Lebanese origin, i'm pretty fussy about my falafel and humus, which they have nailed really well. But their Tabouleh is okay as a Turkish one but not okay as a Lebanese one, but they are a Turkish restaurant, so I'm okay with that. Very yummy chicken and falafel kebab last night.
Bought some takeaway pizzas tonight and we're quite surprised by the way we had underestimated the size of the medium size pizzas (our fault). We ordered an extra pizza when we went to pick up and having seen our surprise of the pizza sizes the pizza store owner made us a very generous offer for the extra pizza, it was done very quickly and tasted great.
Tasty kebab sandwich on a grilled pita (they call this a "beef roll" for some reason) and kebab plate with rice, hummus, and tabouli. The apple tea and Turkish delight were also great. The only Turkish place I know of in Dunedin with beef on the menu. Definitely coming back.
Perfectly cooked pizza delicious base perfect amount of topping and cheese. The garlic bread w hummus is a perfect dunners treat on a wintery or hungover Sunday afternoon ♥️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our chippie was closed so we came here and are both pleased we did. As hubby said "f#ckin' A, i'd go that again". And the woman that served us was super lovely. The reason is only a 4 star rate is because it could be hotter (temperature).
best falafel I had in a while. the small version is already very big. in the sauce were even some nuts! so very good value for your money.
Very well priced and very tasty food. This is fast becoming my regular, even if it is the other side of town. Twice in three days for a quick dinner break, this could well become a pattern
Heaps good pizzas and kebabs. FYI, the jumbo is actually no bigger than a large, just has all three meat options.
The best kebabs ever and consistent. Garlic bread and Apple tea are perfect. Highly recommended
One the best hand made pizza in Dunedin. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. yummy. Parking a bit tricky
Great pizza and excellent service, the only thing that lets them down is they don't always get the order right
