booked our table over the phone arrived place was not very busy ( didnt seem busy ) it was a very cold monday night our table was next to the gas fire ,we had elderly mother in law who felt the cold she sat by the fire all 4 of us had big jackets on but it was SO COLD INSIDE that we kept them on, the meal was nice always is , but the temperature was my big grip we froze
Have been to fillies 2x now as it is the local nice restaurant when I feel like something special (and when i'm not poor haha)
The first time I came i shared an arizona pizza with my friend (chicken satay). The pizza was delicious, albeit very difficult to eat. Wasnt too fond of the base which was a bit tough, though the toppings made it worth while. Loads of flavour and good portion sizes.
The second time I came, I ordered the chicken ravioli, which was a good sized, filling portion, but did get sickening as you ate it. Was very creamy. My ravioli i found a bit undercooked which was a shame, but the flavour was nice.
The one major thing I would like to stress about fillies is the waiting time is HORRENDOUS, especially in groups as things come out at different times. Some of the people in my group finished before some people got their meals.
The price is also on the high side and I wouldnt say is fully justified.
The service though is impeccable, super friendly and helpful. Gave us free coke glasses last time we came which was cool :)
Overall, fillies is a nice place if you're willing to spend and have time to spare.
Went with a friend about a week ago. The pizza was quite good - even better when I added some chilli sauce! However one problem I had was that the pizza I ordered had capsicums on it - which I love. But the capsicums that were actually on the pizza were obviously tinned. Tinned capsicums don't really taste like capsicums at all and i don't see the point in having them on the pizza if they're not really capsicums :) Anyway the service was great, whenever my glass was empty I was offered another drink. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I would recommend this place to my friends for a nice dinner out :)
Last time I went here it was for a quick lunch with my father. We ordered 1 pizza and a bowl of fries, two smoothies and a dessert for after.
It was really great! The pizza was quality, had a lot of flavour. The chips hot and crunchy and served with sauce. A friendly chat with the owners and staff was good to have (they weren't too busy at the time) and the range of products on the menu was very tempting to choose from.
Good food, offers gluten free options for pizza and pasta. But not garlic bread options which is a a shame.
Love it. Went there for a friends 21st and they sorted it so we paid a set price and brought through all the 'favourites' and wedges (yum!) and it was amazing and so friendly! Love seeing how full of people it always is, they deserve it
Another great Dunedin pizza place, with gluten-free base options (though I haven't been here since I have gone gluten-free myself). Great pizza combinations, love the atmosphere and very helpful staff.
Let's put it this way: we ordered a garlic bread, and they brought it to our table and said "we over-did this one, we will do you another". In our opinion it was hardly overdone, but it was brilliant that they would give us another bread that was up to their standard - we were very happy.
I have nothing bad to say about this place what-so-ever - if you haven't tried it, do!
Filadelfio's is my first choice when going out for dinner. I love gourmet pizza's and theirs are amazing. The dessert pizza's are incredible. Although sometimes we have had to wait a while for our meals and I find the chairs not very comfortable.
Very nice pizza, good ambience and friendly staff.
We decided to go out with several students in exchange in Dunedin for the semester. Our criteria was quite simple: we were looking for the best pizza place in town!
We followed the fingers that pointed towards Filadelfio's and landed in the heart of New York City. We ordered 4 large pizzas for 7 people, thinking about leaving some room for dessert. Big mistake, we weren't even able to finish what was on the table, and we took the leftovers back home in doggy bags.
The food was amazing, and we played pool for an hour while enjoying a refreshing pint! A must do!
Good Pizza. Good service. Very welcoming atmosphere.
One of the best places to get pizza in Dunedin.
I have eaten at Filadelfio's many times over quite a few years, most recently two weeks ago. Never once have I had a bad experience. The staff are always cheerful, friendly and efficient, despite often being run off their feet. The pizzas are superb and starter/side dishes such as wedges etc are always first class in quality and generous in quantity. Good food plus good service in pleasant, relaxed surroundings adds up to a dining experience that keeps us going back for more, often introducing out-of-town visitors who are invariably impressed. Vive la Filadelfio's!
Firstly I would like to say amazing smoothies, would go back just for one of these yum! Great range of pizzas but wasn't in the mood for pizza so got pasta carbonara instead it was quite nice. I would definitly recommend eating here =)
om with a capital NOM always leave full , and compared to hells price is not bad!! also the amazing decor and ornaments are great to stare at!
Always love going to this place. Great pizza, great wine and the desert pizzas are definitely worth leaving room for. Delicious. Some of the vegetarian options are even tastier than the meat ones! And I'm by no means a vegetarian.
Great atmosphere and the pizza was delicious.
Best pizza in Dunedin. Pizza choices are abundant ,most of them are my favorites. You can also try delicious burgers, fries, starters and drinks
Called in for a takeaway pizza but all the patrons who were dining there seemed to be enjoying themselves and the atmosphere was quite lively. The pizza was good.
Great atmosphere, lots of people turning up for food and drink. Even pool tables out the back.
The servers were helpful. Fish and Chips was cooked to perfection - might have been even too much chips 😂😂.
I am from Auckland, and loved this place. Thanks guys
Located near the botanical gardens, Northeast Valley, nice open atmosphere to enjoy pizza, food, and drinks. Front section has bench and standard tables, bar, back section has additional seating and toilets.
I have only heard of this place, the pizza's are phenomenal. It's worth a try during the day as it's nice and quiet, the music is just loud enough to hear the person/ people you are with. It's a great big thumbs up from us
Tasty food and good atmosphere. Great staff and casual, relaxing place to enjoy with family. Friendly with all age. Worth to be here and have a great food
Great bar/ restaurant with fabulous decor, really drew us into the restaurant for dinner. Brilliant nachos pizza that filled us both. Excellent range of beers on tap as well as other drinks. If I lived locally they'd see me often.
So good, we went on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed everything.
Super clean, great staff, great food, great selection of drinks. Will be our go to.
This place has the best gourmet pizza. Grew up going out for filly’s in North D as a kid (in my 20’s now) and it still hits the spot. Every. Time. Great selection. Tap beers to go with if you want to visit for work drinks. Learnt not to visit on a Friday though (usually a lot people meeting for these reasons and so if you just want pizza - there will be a bit of a wait ). Could probably use another staff member for weekend nights but no loss, just simply started visiting on quieter nights. The chicken and banana sounds weird but trust me - it works!! Pizza’s worth waiting for!!
Delicious pizza and beer, the best in Dunedin definitely we will be back.😋
I had the Manhattan pizza, yummy 😋
Coke and raspberry tasted a bit flat.
Service Wonderful.
Total dining experience 5 stars
friendly staff, and yummy pizza!
Excellent pizza. A bit pricey but good quality. Make sure you try their dessert pizzas if you're a dessert fan!
