Really good service serving great toasties that are value for money as the portions are just nice for lunch. Had the Hawaiian and Ham and Cheese which were crispy and have generous amount of cheese. The warm cumin dhal soup is thick with delicious ingredients and goes well with the toasties. Definitely a place to return to.

Best toasted sandwiches in New Zealand!!! Amazing flavors, super crispy, lots of choice, superb staff, friendly atmosphere. When you’re craving for some nice sandwiches with outstanding friendliness of the staff, then hungry hobos is the place to be. 🙌 I ate there twice because it was phenomenal

Okay you guys, this is one of those amazing finds in Dunedin! They specialize in sandwiches and soup, and oh boy oh boy do they make a dang good sandwich-and this is coming from someone who does not prefer to eat bread! I got the fun guy half size infiltrated with mushroom-y goodness, and my friend got the macaroni full size which was impregnated with cheese and bacon! The full size is definitely more worth so remember a box to take away, however both were equally delicious, and perfect when you're craving comfort food. They honestly do such a good job with these, the bread is nice and toasted to a crisp perfection, whilst the heart of the sandwich is hot, gooey and filling, warming you right up. The combinations are a match made in heaven, and their menu has a few other cool combos to choose from! They also cater for vegetarians (and vegans on request I think!) which is really neat. Haven't tried their soups, but I feel like it would be equally as high of a quality as their toasted sandwiches!! 4.5/5

A must-visit place in Dunedin for delicious toasties. My husband and I had The NYC Reuben, Ham & Cheese, and Mac & Cheese toasties. All three toasties were delicious but The NYC Reuben toastie was absolutely amazing. It had so much flavour. The service is also great. Highly recommend it if you are in Dunedin.

Let me start with: “open on a Sunday at Lunch” And that’s already a good starting point! Then you sense the good vibes coming out of this funny little place. Staff is smily and kind! We had a combo with 2half incredible sandwiches (the chesse one was phrnomenal!) and 2delicious soups of the day! 40nz$ in two Last but not least, the music soundtrack: omg loved it!! Rock from the 80-90es!! Wonderful lunch!!!!

Just got done eating here. Amazing Mac and Cheese with Bacon sandwich! I still need to try the Cheese Roll but I’m totally full. It’s award winning though apparently. They have some cool comics to read if you want. They also have internet, just ask for the code.

An absolute gem we stumbled upon in Dunedin. The buttered steaming fresh bread and the potato and leak soup were absolutely lovely. Sandwiches looked great though I didn’t have any.
