A lunch at Social Club on a Sunday. Weekend beer was only $6. I had a 200g steak with green salad for $16. The steak was slightly overcooked. My wife had the beautiful beer- battered market fish (which was Monk fish - “poor man's lobster" as it was sometimes called). It came with lovely chips with tartar sauce.

Great place for live music on a Thursday & Friday plus their snack plates are amazing. Very convenient location, located in the Octagon of Dunedin.
We found this restaurant, more like a pub , place in the heart of Dunedin, while visiting a city.
Great cocktails, huge selection of NZ beers.
From small lunch menu, we ordered Steak, that was overcooked, but I loved mushed potatoes and a small green salad with vinaigrette dressing and duck risotto, that was ok too.
A reasonable pub in the middle of town. A good range of drinks, including beers, wines and spirits. They also provide some food, that is reasonably priced. The staff are helpful and friendly. Worth a try.

Cheap food, great taste of beers but high price. Well, you'll get what you pay because they have their own beers.

Great pub with awesome vibes. Fun place to grab a drink and catch up with friends. Their mulled wine is yummo. Service by the bar staff and Manager was absolutely faultless. You are made to feel soooo welcome. We had the rump steak meal which was ok, I guess you expect that with a $16 rump steak meal however the truffle mash potatoes were divine.
While visiting Dunedin, we called into the Dunedin Social Club for a drink. It has great atmosphere and we enjoyed our visit. Service was quick and friendly. We would be happy to return again when next visiting Dunedin.

Great little bar restaurant, table service only due to covid 19, Staff were friendly and efficient, food prices were amazingly good value and the food was good. Good honest pub grub at great prices. Well done 👍
$16 each for two fantastic lunches, bargain. Both perfectly cooked. Super friendly bar tender who loves Dunedin and was happy to chat. Great location to sit, chat and people watch.
