Experienced an awesome South Indian treat. Absolutely authentic taste. Had Masala dosa, masala vada and masala tea. Masala dosa was very crispy with perfect texture and masala filling was tasty. Masala vada had a rich flavour and not oily as well. Overall enjoyed the dine in time.

Well, If something comes to eat south Indian food, people only remember Dosa or Idli. That's took me today to the one stop in this city "Dosa Etc". Recommended by many people, and now tasted by me. Food served with amazing flavour, as mentioned in the Menu. I ordered Maysur masala dosa, Idli, and tea. Sambhar was amazing, and tea added an extra topping on my dinner. It's worth to visit, explore it. They have even thali options. Sounds good for vegetarian too.

Who knew we would find such amazing South Indian food in Dunedin The owner of the restaurant was super friendly and took the time to speak to every person in the restaurant to ensure they enjoyed their meal What's funnier my Mum flew all the way from Melbourne only to find an Indian restaurant to eat at (I didn't have high hopes till Itried the meal) For me - best Dosa in the south island. Mum though the food was very authentic and very tasty

I have decided to update my review as last time I was there they significantly improved. The staff were helpful and made a special effort to cater to our needs clearly. The food was nice with a short wait. It's nice eating at a vegetarian restaurant, but be careful... Their cheese dosa is very addictive and you will never forget it!!! Old one star review: "Very disappointed at how careless the waiter was. Friend asked the waiter if the dosa had onion or garlic in it because I have a serious intolerance, he said no but our dosas were served with truckloads of onion! Thanks for all the vomiting Dosa Etc."

The dosa is super duper yummy and great atmosphere and vegan friendly options too. Best part, it works well with our mild taste buds (they have spicy chutney if you want) I have also tried the southern Indian thali (rice + bread + curries). It's super yum. However there are few suggestions I would like go make 1. Dosa size (it's house dosa size - not the traditional super long ones you may be used to it. I find these dosa are yum and I really enjoyed masala dosa. It would be great if it's served as a meal. For 15.90, one could get vada for example. It makes it more filling) 2. Offer a meal combo/student discount. Whilst I really like that you could get a meal under 10 dollars. It would be way more awesome if there is like lunch special - there's $8 special Nevertheless, I would still recommend this place. It's the only south Indian restaurant here in Dunedin - caters for vegan and vegetarian Updated to 5 stars. Heaps of improvement

Nice south indian style food, right in the CBD of Dunedin. Food can be a little oily for some tastes so check with staff if needed. Check opening hours before going.

This is an excellent South Indian restaurant in Dunedin. They have plenty of dosa varieties on offer. The dosas I had here were very much like the ones I had back in South India. Would recommend their masala dosa as one of the items to try. Besides dosas, their veg biryani and sambar rice were also delicious. Service was quick during every visit. All of their staff were courteous and had a friendly demeanour.

Loved this new addition to Dunedin eateries. Authentic South Indian cuisine. Loved our host from Bengaluru and Mysore. Loved the dosa, it's spicy filling and the accompanying chutneys and lentil stew; sambar. The crispy vada was delicious and so was the soft fermented idli. Enjoyed the filter coffee to wash down the spicy potato bonda If you like Indian food but getting over the heavy north Indian affair of cream ladden, orange colored curries then this is a must try joint. We had to try them again and did they make it awesome again or what! Yummmmmmmmm. Mysore masala dosa, sambar coconut chutneys, vacation and idli Everything hit the sweet spot. Thanks team for the real authentic dosa. We are addicted to this place. Have had a few takeout now. Everything bursting with fresh authentic flavors. Great work team. Dosa guys you are awesome. Loving your offerings and consistency with flavorsome food you make. Loved the dosas idlis, vadas, sambar and coconut chutneys. Can't wait to try more things should you choose to add.more to your menu. Awesome food. We keep loving their limited yet flavourful offerings. Had a Mysore dosa with coconut chutneys and sambar. Vada and idli for Chilli garlic chutneys and some coffee. Everything was spot on and the crispy dosa was absolutely stunning. Idli tastes fermented and freshly made. Great work guys. Wish coffee and tea was served in.glassware and not steel cups as it was pretty hard to sip out of hot cups.

Edit: The reviews posted were listened upon and the prices of the dosa have been reduced and fillings increased. The masala dosa now is suitable for a lunch portion. There is also now combos for people who want to try different stuff which is also price appropriately. Taste is good as before. Kudos to them for listening and best of luck! Really good south indian food for Dunedin's standard. Flavor is good and service was prompt considering the amount of people there. Tried the Masala Dosa, taste really nice but portion slightly small to qualify for a lunch. Hence ordered the south indian meal (rice) as well. That was pretty good as well and is more suitable for lunch. I would like if the curry were slightly thicker/more flavourful. I recommend making the dosa cheaper so people could order two or making a combo that's cheaper if customers wants two dosa as one is not enough. With that said it's a fresh new taste in dunedin and I recommend trying.

One of the best places for Dosa in New Zealand which is based in Dunedin. This is a family owned business and the owners are so passionate about their food making process. It’s very authentic just like the best dosa you find back home in India. We had best experience and enjoyed food. Value for money and if anyone craving for proper South Indian breakfast this will be the place to go. I wish they had a branch in Auckland too.

Worth the 1 hour wait. The dosa was made well and so fresh. We got the masala dosa and the dosa was fluffy and potato was cooked well. The staff is also very friendly. Just make sure you go early to avoid the crowd. Definitely want to come again and try other dosas.

It's nice to be able to enjoy a bit of South Indian food. I'd say it has been adjusted to Kiwi taste compared to what I was having in South India (but I guess that's important to survive here). It's worth trying anyway!

The best dosa in New Zealand, period. What's more - it's run by folks from Mysore! Particularly authentic, great service and lovely dosas!

Food was so delicious and tasty. After they added new items in their menu we got lots of choice. Staff behaviour was so friendly. We tried Gee Roast Masala Dhosa, Masala Uttapam and Manchurian. I highly encouraged to try.
