I had a delicious Chicken Korma and cheesy garlic naan. I regretted not ordering medium spice as it could've done with a bit more of a kick.
Service was very friendly, just the lady that day didn't know what a whisky on the rocks but no big deal.
OMG this place is good! Best Indian food I've eaten out in NZ! Another hidden vegetarian gem too! If you want a deliciously full flavoured selection of curries & sides, at whatever spice level you like, and with some amazing drinks...then go here! Very efficient and attentive staff, cocktails are great, and they cater for anyone from individual diners to large parties if you call and book. Vegetarian Korma is to die for...and the martini is lethal (in a good way)!
Our new favourite delivery restaurant! First of all, kudos for offering a delivery service. Sometimes that is just what you need when you don't feel like going anywhere and the fridge is empty. We have ordered from here a number of times now, a variety of chicken and lamb curries as well as biryani. The food is always top notch and it always arrives hot.
Indian food is hard for us as my partner has a nut allergy and a lot of Indian cuisine uses cashews and peanuts in their sauces. I made sure to tell them no nuts, and when the cook by mistake garnished with nuts he rang the delivery driver who informed us and then came back with a fresh one which was really great service, & good communication! On top of that food was fantastic, and affordable, definitely be returning here again!
Best Indian food around. Super nice mentality of the staff. Loads of high quality chicken, not the crappy parts in their chicken recipes, purposefully go out of my way to go there when I feel like a bit of curry.
Great place to catch lunch. I always get asked normal hot or Indian hot, so I tried the Indian hot.
It was great, not as hot as I thought it would be, but tasty and deliscious, just perfect.
Quick serving time and friendly staff, overall a great experience.
Edit: Went back again for lunch today. The chicken Vindaloo was spectacular! (Also proper hot)

Clean and tidy, fast service, good selection on the menu . Unfortunately I thought the chicken kadai rather tasteless and when you ask for 'medium' I think it's Indian medium not Kiwi medium, so be warned if you can't handle too much heat.
LOVED the food and hospitality! I had the vegetarian biryani as a recommendation from our host for the evening. It was so delicious and full of flavour. Also managed to try the samosas and onion bhaji, both were just as tasty! Great warm hospitality all around :) Would definitely say this would be my new favourite Indian restaurant and will be heading back ASAP!
Sweet and spicy vegetable korma was perfect and healthy $10.99 lunch special. Parking is easy out front. A gem in this fast food wilderness.
Very tasty Indian food and good lunch deals. Quick service and friendly staff. The place has a good number of seats to accommodate a good group of people. Try the Biryani, colourful rice and chicken marinated overnight. It is served with raitha and chilli salan.

An excellent restaurant on many fronts. From the warm atmosphere and friendly staff to the quality of their dishes, it has become a family favourite for both eat in and takeaway. I highly recommend their entrees. We have often made a great family meal by selecting an assortment of their entrees.
This restaurant is close to where I work and the food never disappoints. Tikka Masala is great although when I am brave enough to branch out and try something new it tastes great too. Fast service and the man at the counter is always friendly. The lunch special is great value for such tasty food.

Great meal snappy but friendly service with extremely good prices. This was my first visit and I will be back. The lamb kadai was really good. Had a slightly sweet taste which balanced the heat of the spices perfectly.
Lunch specials are great value. $10.99 for curry, naan and rice and poppadum. The service is also efficient with the food being served fast with the team are always happy to serve. nice ambience and very flavourful dishes. Onion Baji is delightful and I am regular visitor

Particualrly enjoyed the Mixed Vegitarian platter entree and the Mutter Paneer mild heat main dish!

Excellent, friendly service and terrific food keeps me coming back. I regularly go to both Epsom and Ellerslie restaurants and the quality is consistent between them both. Thoroughly recommended.
For dinner we tried the Tikka Masala and the Hyderabadi Biryani (a new dish) - with some plain naan and garlic naan. Both dishes were excellent - but the chicken biryani was exceptional - as good as any biryani I have had anywhere in Auckland. Well done chaps, keep up the good work.
Have been here 4 times with my partner and we love it! The garlic chilli and cheese naan is quite spicy but delicious. We went there tonight and the gentleman who is always on the front desk is lovely. I would also recommend the mango drink (I can't remember what it's called). It's creamy but nice and really helps cool your mouth :) :) :) see you again soon :)

I had Chicken Tikka and it was pretty good. Taste was awesome. Garlic naan was pretty good.
The meals and drinks were good value really. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It also has a bar with Kingfisher on tap.

The mon-wed $12 dinner deal is good value. We tried Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, and a spinach one. The first two were really tasty. Cheese and garlic naan to go with our meal. Their cream based curry is definitely better than the watery ones, tried a seafood tomato based and lamb rogan josh on a separate occassion. Both didn't have much depth to the flavour.
This is the Ellerslie branch. Good service and polite host. Clearly they have got their priorities right as a huge board clearly marks that an upgrade from plain to butter Naan. Cheese or chilli versions will cost only $1.00 Great taste and made to order - Indian Hot.. Nice flaming taste... Food quality good.
A decent Indian restaurant with plenty of choices. Really like the spinach curry. The tandori chicken on the other hand needs a bit more flavours

We, being a family of 4, often eat in and takeout. Have always found the food and service to more than satisfy our expectations. The Indian food here is a step up from what you'd get elsewhere in AK.
I got takeaways from Namaste Express and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Paneer Tikka Masala (Vegetarian) with garlic naan bread and it was very good! Very generously portioned, it lasted me about 3 meals. The staff was very accommodating with my dietary needs and questions. I ordered on a whim when I was driving past but the food came out within 20 minutes which is not too long of a wait. Quite reasonably priced too. I will definitely consider coming back next time I am in the mood for Indian food!
I have been a regular to this place ever since it has started. The quality has been very consistant & good. The lunch special is excellent value.

Fabulous curries, freshly cooked, excellent service, vegetables always taste absolutely just cooked. This can be unusual in Indian restaurants. We have eaten extensively in the USA, Australia and NZ and this is the best Indian food we have eaten!!! I have been eating Indian since 1968 when I lived in London then, and you are well up there. Keep it up!!!
I am a foodie and have travelled extensively. The food and service at Namaste Express has always been brilliant!!! I have visited this restaurant about a dozen times and my experience has been absolutely fantastic.
All the food and the naan bread is made fresh as per your order, unlike other places where everything is prepared before hand. It's fresh and delicious, great value for money.

I had chili chicken and it was divine. Dear Indian food lover please check it out this place is one of the best for Indian food. I am pretty shore you will it. No tension for even parking. My partner and I just returned from an excellent lunch here. We were stoked to discover that the $10 Lunch Special comes with curry, rice and naan.
Partner also indulged in some Kingfisher beer for only an extra $3.50!
The food was delicious. I had the vegetarian Jalfrezi which was fresh veges done in a 'ginger, garlic, tomato and onion gravy'. At medium temperature it was a perfect hot for me. The flavours were tremendous, and the veges really were freshly prepped, and with a nice sprinkling of fresh coriander to complete the vitality of the dish. Yum! Only one point of note for improvement (which the staff were very appreciative of me letting them know) was that there were 2 cubes of Indian 'cottage cheese' in there as well. I actually ate them, coz I'm only a little bit lactose intolerant, and I do love the stuff! But they just shouldn't have been in there, that's all ;)
That said, the meal was very delicious - with rice and naan cooked to perfection, so I'm dishing out 5 stars to Namaste, as they really delivered on great food and great value.
My partner had the chicken Jalfrezi, and commented that he couldn't believe how much chicken was in that thing for the price.
Just one other tricky thing was, where was the 'Free Off-Street' that is noted on this site? Maybe after-hours only and not during lunchtime?
This place has a reasonably nice decor - possibly a little bit like a "chain restaurant" but certainly a lot better than most Indian Restaurants where you feel like you are in a school cafeteria!
Their food is really good. We also ordered a cocktail and wine, which oddly took a long time to arrive (we were the only ones there). Anyway, when they arrived the cocktail was pretty good, and nice to have this option as not many restaurants have cocktails on the menu at all.
This is a recommended option if you want dine-in Indian!
Coming from the UK we have been in search of a good curry........Finally we found it. This is quite simply the best curry you will find in Auckland. It's not your usual creamed curry sauced stuff that seems to be the staple here in NZ, but rather proper north indian food with fantastic flavor.

Amazing service. Although I was only doing a takeaway, I was still extremely happy with the service I received. The door was opened for me on arrival, I was welcomed with a warm greeting. Staff were happy, cheerful informative and very accommodating.
Loved the salads and the giant naan's that we also got.
I highly recommend and will be dining here again.
First meal at Namaste Express tonight, I had the Lamb Jalfrezi. Food was great, very tender lamb and the waiter took the time to suggest a wine match for the meal too. I will certainly be back, thanks.
Only new, but definitely worth a visit. Delicious food, excellent service. Certainly recommend it. A special family occasion was made even more enjoyable by the warm, friendly welcome and wide selection of items on the menu. Something to please everyone, young and old.
Went to Namaste Express, 604 Great South Road, last night with family to celebrate my father's 91st birthday.
There are other Namaste Express restaurants but this one has only been open three weeks. Great South Road, near Hollywood Bakery down the Wendy's end of GSRd...
The food was great - especially enjoyed the onion bhaji, great malai kofta and dhal makhani - the wine list compliemented the food and the service was friendly and efficient.
We were made to feel special and welcome. Made my Dad's night.

A nice place to eat Indian food... With lots of options at ones helm (both veg and non veg) this place is must go... I had their special Balti chicken of which I enjoyed every single bite the same way.... With excellent staff this place is a must go for all the people looking for nice Indian food....
Free delivery over $30 within 4km. Not bad. Inside the restaurant looks cosy and warm. Great atmosphere. I think uber eat is also an option here. As usual vegetarian and non vegetarian meals are an available on the menu. Parking is on the street in great South Road. Not sure if they have dedicated car parks but during evenings you can easily find car park. Food is reasonably good. Good service too.

Delicious food+ very reasonable price + friendly staff! I was initially going for my all-time choice- Butter Chicken (because I didn't know any other options)! The staff suggested a different chicken dish and it was actually nicer than the Butter Chicken! Will diffidently go back and try to memorise the name of that dish!!
Best Indian food I have had!!! Every dish is so yummy and cook with love. Restaurant is very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Will be back, highly recommended.

I eat lunch here on a fairly regular basis - invariably efficient friendly service and food is always of a standard high enough to be commensurate with the menu prices - that is to say they are reasonably priced and the curries meet expectations to march that - I wouldn’t write home to mom about them but they are certainly good enough for this to be a weekly work lunch treat. I do recommend straying from the menu when opportunity arises - the chef special is something I have started to order rather than my default favourites and thus far have always been impressed. I (secretly) can’t wait to go back to work after an extended Xmas break just so I can go for Nameste !
Fantastic price for a good Indian meal in the evening from Sunday to Wednesday. Very friendly service. The chili fries were delicious.
