At times this place is hit n miss. Ordered via ubereats and usually on time. Food wise is not too bad, although sometimes quality is a little iffy. Whereas other times the food is real good. Ordering via phone or delivery from them is also hit n miss with sometimes waiting over 30 minutes past the delivery time, but with ubereats its fairly quick.
Late 9pm takeaway after a hard night of boozing.
I got the Lamb Jalfrize and some other chicken/meat mixed dish, and a garlic naan.
Had a lot of Indian over the years.
What was served was delicious.
Not overwhelmed with a rich soupy sauce.
Naan was soft and appropriately doughy.
I want to award 4.5/5 because I'm sick of same same Indian, but deliciousness should be rewarded, and we can't do half ratings on Zomato.
Yum just had dinner here so delish and the service was amazing thank you so much for a nice night out! We ordered three curries and two entrees Chana masala was on point! Yum!
Had food delivered today for the first time and it was fantastic. Best indian food i've had in auckland hands down. The dishes had the right amount of cream and spices and also had a great tandoori flavour to it. Can't wait to order from them again!
A Great Business Dinner
Great food, great service. Lamb Madras.and Chicken Tikka Masala. Excellent flavour profile and quality. Well Done.to all the staff
Ordered through menulog. Curry was really flavour full and gd quality of curry aswell. I ordered twice frm their restaurant and both time curries were really fantastic. Gd customer service aswell.
Great for takeaway and dine in!
Our house in Ellerslie burnt down so we live in Onehunga now but we still drive over to India for our curries.
Vegetarian options are absolutely delicious - have had most of the paneer ones and they are gorg. Great for a BYO, very friendly service, and nice enough ambience although sometimes weirdly cold. Well priced, and they do a mango lassi with a vodka shot in which I cannot personally vouch for but which is very innovative.
Yes, I went to India - not the country itself, but at a little restaurant that boast colourful murals of great men and women of India (the country) that continues to inspire millions of people around the world today.
The creativity on the walls harmonises well with the smell and taste of chicken korma, lamb rogan josh, beef masala, and kebabs. The spices used made me think that food was served straight from India 🇮🇳!
It was an extraordinary dining experience at a surprisingly low price. I say, this place is highly recommended.
My favourite local Indian, great onion bhajis, sizzling mushrooms and great range of reasonably priced mains. Particularly like the butter chicken. Great service except on a Wednesday night when they have some delays due to the Wednesday night offer.
This is a nice indian restaurant with a twist. I like to outdoor seating..the place is painted with vibrant colour.
The staff n probably the manager is friendly and very pleasant to talk to.
The food is good and the fish curry is great!!
Good for group of 4 to 6 people.
The price is very reasonable. I really like this place n will come again.
Nice restaurant my favourite always mutton dum Briyani yum it taste similar which I used to have in India. Being a Briyani lover have tried other restaurant Briyani’s but nothing is equal to India bar and restaurant Briyani. It matches 80 per cent what I have in India.
Great service the waiter was lovely, gave plenty of time for conversation but showed up at the right time when food or drink was wanted, great magic and the food was tastey. If you enjoy chilling out to enjoy a meals great little spot.
Order was made very quickly and can say that the butter chicken is amazing and also the naan was wonderful to accompany it. Was a very decent size and was very reasonably priced, would love to order from here again!
The service in the restaurant is really pleasing and the food is excellent. Had tried the chicken platter: it was flavourful with different varieties in a platter. Definitely a must try for the starters
Loved this place! We stopped in just to have a quick coffee (ended up having an Indian tea and a coke) and the waiter was quite happy to serve us despite the small order. Came to check in with us and offered to turn on the heater as we were sitting outside. As it happens I love Cheese Naan and am always in search of a good Cheese Naan and Lamb Korma combination, so added that to the order and I was pleasantly surprised.
One the one visit so far, but I certainly intend to return!
It is now my favourite indian restaurant in Ellerslie! Friendly service+lovely food+reasonable price. They have a $10 promotion on curry+main on every Wednesdays.
Another good thing is that they do delivery for orders over $30.
Yummy and mouth watering dishes. Excellent food and service. The staffs are friendly and good customer service Best curries in Ellerslie. Try the creamy butter chicken and cheese Naan.
A decent meal, especially if you opt for a $10 lunch. Staff are very welcoming, and service is friendly and efficient. The food, while being tasty enough, isn't on par with some other curry houses around the city.
Harsh Vardhan Shrotriya
+3.5
Friendly staff. Ambience is ok but, plan for a brunch on sunny day so that you can eat in the open area rather than average indoors.
Food variety is good. If you are a non veg person, try chicken rara.
Wines are average and you will be better off carrying your own.
Had a great experience here, went on a Wednesday and all the mains are only $10! Staff are very professional and attentive. Our dishes did take a while to be served, but didn't mind as it only made us hungrier and more excited to eat. Chicken Tikka was full of flavour and the naan breads come in a nice big serving in baskets. Love the outdoor setting- reflects the culture nicely. Will definitely be coming back.
The food here is amazing and I've never had terrible service as pointed out by others. Maybe they just need to relax and have another Kingfisher.
Possibly some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Service was alright for the first part of the meal but once (what I assume was) the owner showed up for a meal with his wife, the server stopped paying us any attention and started looking over the owner's table instead. Had to ask 3 separate times for a doggy bag.
They've got the food down absolutely. If only the service was more attentive, we would've left with a better taste in our mouths. Maybe better to get the food to go or delivered rather than stick around to eat next time.
It's just ok. Tried 4 times recently.
Nothing special just middle of the road flavours. Sevice tries but when the 'family'is sitting at the main table be prepared to wait.
Been coming here once every two weeks. They do $10 curries on Wednesdays.
I've tried their Mango Curry, Butter Chicken, Lamb, Korma, Tikka....all taste divine. Although my favourite would be the Mango Chicken Curry.
Must try Indian restaurant. Worth your money! Friendly staff too.
Thank you & Keep it up!
Food was delicious! Great little local Indian restaurant/takeaway. They also have specials on Mon-Wed nights and free delivery for takeaways! Will definitely be back for more!
Nice indian restaurant...good food...enjoyed the taste.. But there is one thing in particular I did not like is that they charge for poppadums they place on your table as soon as you r seated...:((( these should ideally be complimentary as they are not ordered by the customer and r offered by the house...
Best Indian I've had in awhile!
Massive menu, delicious fresh sides of onion bhaji, samosas and naan, and best of all a creamy yet Not too sweet butter chicken.
Amazing that they deliver for free if you spend $30! So stoked with this, new local Indian for us yah!
This place is great. Lovely quaint setting and the food is delicious. The staff are all really nice and the service is excellent. Am delighted a place this good is so close to home!
I have never been a dine in customer but their takeaways never disappoint. Food is always hot on arrival. We are working our way through the extensive menu but winners so far are the samosas, tandoori chicken and all the currys have been amazing. Yum yum - keep up the good work!
Fantastic experience throughout, from the greeting through to the tasty authentic food. I recommend to anyone who enjoys great food. Surely come back again.
Excellent restaurant with mind blowing food served by phenomenal staff.
A must visit Indian restaurant for those who love food.
Ordered dishes like Butter Chicken and Saag Paneer with Cheese Naan. They were good and far beyond my expectations.
Will I come again?? - Yes, of course.
This place used to be a Raviz franchise. We went here un-aware of the new ownership and decided to try it out anyway as the overall ambience and the cleanliness was not looking too bad.
We ordered a dish of Methi Matar malai and a Palak Paneer with some plain naans. The food was tasty but not extra ordinary.
Staff were friendly and the service was quick too.
Will I come back here? - Yes
Did not expect such a beautiful meal and the new outside area really helps with the ambiance, before it was a little bit cramped. We had the shared platter tandoori meats with yummy onions and cabbage. We feel very nourished almost refreshed and alert even though its 10:30pm. Will be back!
fabulous food! Today I had the Sheekh kebab as an entree, divine! The Tandoori salad was to die for, nice large serving so I didn't feel hungry after eating it like most places... absolutely delicious!! Great service too, loved it, will be back for sure!
Such a large Menu with variety of dishes to chooses from. As always delicious food, friendly staff and excellent service. A perfect spot to Dine in.
The best Indian food around. Perfect environment with option to sit inside or outside. Yummy food with reasonable price with big quantity. Opens till late so no need to rush
