Excellent authentic Chinese eatery.
Pan fried baos were just how they're meant to be. Crispy on the bottom and flavourful inside with hot soup bursting out as you bite into it. Fluffy dough made just the right way.
Pork ribs noodles - I was not a fan of the soup. But the ribs were fantastic. Noodles were al dente and seemed hand made.
I 100% would return to try more items.
Not far from home. Like their bun as lunch, although the xiaolongbao pastry a bit thick, but flavor is good.
Perfect for hangovers. Nice noodles. The baos are very nice. Chicken tasty too. The xiaolongbao pastry is a bit thick tho. Apart from that great!

A traditional Shanghai noodle house. I love the fact that it is basic and simple just like how I imagine people in the olden days would have this type of food. The spring onion pancake was crispy and really nicely fried. Kaofu noodle with vegetables and egg had simple flavours but all cooked well. I mean for $9 a bowl it was a clear winner!! I don't know why anyone would complain about this place, of course it's not as tasty as the next door Malaysian joint but this is a different cuisine. My daughter loved everything she had, so we'll definitely be back!
I had a very satisfying spicy pork and vege noodles. It was busy for a weekday after lunch. Looking forward to trying other noodle dishes on the menu.
This place is wonderful! Amazing food and very affordable. My boyfriend and I came in for a quick bite and only had 50 minutes to spare, and had 4 different dishes. Had the spring onion pancakes, which were typically delicious, the rice porridge which was the whole reason I can here, the pan fried pork buns (takes 30 mins, but worth it) and the spicy pork noodles. We were SO full from all this delicious food, and still had a full container of porridge and a whole takeaway box of buns and pancakes to take home - all this and a drink totalled to $40! Which is barely a main at a high class restaurant. Speedy and friendly service, delicious food and really affordable prices - what more could you ask for?
My friend and I came here at about 8pm. No customers, so service was quite fast. Friendly staff too. Clean place. The only down side for us this time was we didn't quite appreciate the noodle soup. Quite bland and not spicy enough.
I think this place makes really authentic Shanghainese food. I always order their Pan Fried Pork Buns, Soup Pork Dumplings, Combination Fried Noodles and the Stir Fried Rice Cake with Pork and Veges! I think those are their specialty dishes. The Pan Fried Pork Buns are so crispy and crunchy at the bottom, but do be careful; the juice inside is steaming hot! The soup dumplings (xiao long bao) was really nice and juicy too! Their rice cake dish needed a bit more flavour, more pork and veges as well. Their noodles are thick and oily; but that'd what makes it delicious! It's best to come here before lunch hour, so they can make your dishes tasty!
I came to this restaurant as it claimed to be shanghai cuisine. The food comes out really fast and the portions are huge for what you pay. I ordered vegetarian "chicken" on rice which was one of the only vegan options. I added extra chilli oil to it. The green vegetables were nice and full of garlic for seasoning. The presentation of the food and the restaurant is lacking.
Lovely Authentic Shanghai Style Restaurant even though it is named Noodle House. You will enjoy more besides good noodle.
All kinds of noodle, with soup or without, most of them are authentic taste. However I do enjoy the simple noodle with fried spring onion oil, a little bit soy sauce and that's it. People from Shanghai usually take it as a snack before dinner during summer time. Smelling the spring onion oil, in a certain way, is like special treat to your nose. I bet you will enjoy it.
Then you can try the typical fried pork buns with the smoky bottom adding the flavor, juicy but tasty inside. Watch your tongue while eating it hot.
Fried rice cake is another option if there is still space left for a gourmet treat. You can tell basically it is rice pudding just fried, still crispy, still full of crunch biting fun by your teeth.
Go for the dish on the menu, I believe it is worth trying after 6-year successful opening. People know the right place to eat something local and good value.
Just wish the decoration could be improved with some touch of the classic Shanghai.
Found a nice little Shanghai place today! The place is small but very clean! The service was quite efficient although it was a full house for lunch today.
We ordered the pan fried Shanghai style pork buns, steamed xiaolong bao and steam pork buns. The steam pork buns were very average, but it was cheap! $5 for 4 buns. The other 2 dishes were so good!! The pan fried Shanghai style pork buns is definitely the star of the show!
Keen to come back and try their noodles!!

Transfer the plane from Sydney. Walking pass the small restaurant, I had the fresh wonton the owner just handmade. Super fresh and delicious. Even better than Shanghai local restaurants.
The noodle and the HuangQiao pancakes , the meat moon cakes are amazing too
If you want to have the original Shanghai tastes good, you should come to try.
Food is nice and cheap here but when it gets busy it may take a while for chef to deliver your food cause the restaurant is run by a small family. Must try - juicy pan fried bao

Delicious and juicy Dumplings. Very crisp and tasty fried spring onion pancakes!!
We found this place almost by accident as our daughter lives nearby. We now go for lunch every time we are in Akld, the food is fantastic and the family who runs it are lovely. Can be very busy to the point of being turned away so we try and time it to avoid the lunch rush. The fried noodles and dumplings are our absolute favourites.
Been coming here for years, the food has been consistently deliciously. Will keep coming back
Nice little restaurant run by a family. Food are traditional shanghai food. 100% taste like those nice little restaurant in Shanghai. Highly recommend.
Wow this place is a GEM. Authentic Shanghainese home made dishes. Cheap and tasty. The only down side is that it only have 5 small tables. Also parking is hard to get. Good to consider for takeaway.
Most likely the best place to eat this special delicacy. Shanghai style soup dumplings. No not dumplings in soup but soup in dumplings. How do they get the soup inside the dumplings? I do not know, chef wouldn't say. But they are so good. Be careful that you don't burn your mouth out with hot soup though. Also since few people know this exists they don't make many each day. Therefore you should call them and reserve a few to avoid disappointment at them selling out. This place is tiny. Only seats about 15 people. Street parking on Arcadia street for 60mins.
Excellent authentic Shanghainese Chinese restaurant at a reasonable price. Easily reachable by 302, 309 or 312 buses. Soup dumplings by the way are made by freezing the soup then putting it in the dumpling. It melts and helps cook the pork while steaming
