Manawatu is blessed with a wide selection of restaurants and cafes. We were pleasantly surprised with Essence in friendly Feilding. We were served quickly and our drink order came with time to let us chat before ordering our lunch.

Food was good and reasonably priced. Only 1 working in the kitchen 2 Sundays ago, so meals were slow to come out even when the place was a quarter full.
Called in for an easy meal. Got the steak eggs and chips. Huge portions and cooked to perfection. The wait staff were awesome and the chef asked if we wanted mushroom sauce with our meals. The sauce was killer tasty. Happy to highly recommend this place.
The French toast here is wonderful. The people in there are so kind and even gave me extra milkshakeš Just a bit expensive but a nice treat!
New owners seem to be doing well, I ordered eggs Benny, with extra mushrooms. They make their own hollandaise sauce too!!

Wonderful experience at Essence. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, food was delivered quickly, and it was hot and delicious. Its a shame they are not open on Mondays or I would be back for brunch before heading for home.

Attentive interested staff. Clean and pleasant surroundings. Lovely meal, good choice on the menu. Pork was so tender. Looking forward to a return visit winter meal when the fire is lit.
I canāt rate the food highly enough, all our dinner choices were delicious as well as the breads to start and desserts! We ordered the lamb, pork belly, burgers, but the beef short rib was the best! I donāt think I have rated a restaurant before, but my husband said that I needed to as he was blown
Definitely my most recommended place for a cooked breakfast in Feilding. The food here is delicious, I really canāt fault it. Each visit the food has always been just as good as the last visit. The coffee is great and over all itās a very affordable place. Super clean and tidy. Majority of the time
