Great service and the burger is fantastic. The place is really nicely decorated and stays till late m. Must try if you are in Fox glacier, well done 👍🏻
Good pub food. 250g steak has prawns and garlic sauce on top, yum and the hoki was very nice. Prices good, certainly better than Hokitika and lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Only downside was the fagging tourists lighting up in outside in the non smoking area, but that’s as per.
Had dinner 2 days back to back here including my 10 year anniversary dinner. Warm cozy place. The best seafood chowder I ever had. It was a chef special, not on regular menu though. Saw 2 Keas outside in the evening.
Stopped into the cafe for a coffee after walking to see Fox Glacier. Awesome friendly staff gave us great service and the coffee was excellent. Quite a cool looking little cafe/bar with a good feel to it. Fireplace inside looked nice and cosy for those chilly West Coast days in other seasons.
Stopped in for a drink and a snack just to break up our days drive. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great find in Fox, service was great, atmosphere great and food was yes great. We both had the fish and thought we needed entree, garlic bread and calamari, both were delicious but far exceeded the volume we needed! Highly recommended.
Staying local, so came down for a drink and food. Awesome atmosphere, plenty of outdoor and indoors seating, we chose to be outdoors. Food was quick and delicious and the beers were cold, what more could you ask for. 😊

This place was actually quite delightful. Great service and good food. A mix of dishes and decor, but definitely no regrets eating here. Lamb shank was excellent.
Awesome service, awesome food, awesome portion size and reasonably priced for the location. To find dahl and rice here was an amazingly pleasant surprise… wasn’t expecting that at all. .Very positive vibe and energy. Will come back again and recommend. God bless you guys. 🙏
Omgoodness the service by the young lady serving us was outstanding... made us the best milk shakes and the lunch was amazing... every one needs to go there...
Food was fantastic, especially the fish and chips! The waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. She recommended a delicious watermelon and cucumber cider. Really great place and atmosphere, however the service makes the whole experience so much better!
Although understaffed the lady was very efficient. I asked for a non fried version of fish and chips and they were so willing to accommodate. The Hoki and salad was fresh and very good. We are just passing through for a couple of days but would definitely revisit. Lovely log fire too!
WOW LIKE JUST WOW ..... was on a very long drive up to nelson and went the west coast was was starting to fade and needed a pick me up when I came across the saddle ....

While staying at Fox Glacier we made several trips to the cafe. It is a lovely place with great atmosphere - the staff there are excellent. We'd happily recommend the Cook Saddle and will return again.
Great food, there's short hair waitress that is really charismatic and funny. 12/10 will come back again for her. 😂
Really nice place to eat. Food was great and I guess priced ok for a holiday town. Lovely atmosphere and the bar looked enticing.
