Spring rolls,Curry puff were nice but the chicken tikka was very bad. Its taste was very chewy and looked way overcooked but nonetheless the staff and vibe of the restaurant was great.

Wonderful service, food, decor and drink specials. We had a lovely evening there and recommend you stop by at happy hour and stay for dinner. They have a huge menu and the Thai Green Curry was the best I've had. Thanks Paolo for wonderful service!

My husband and I had been on the road for about 9-10 hours. We arrived in town at around 7pm and by then we were exhausted and hungry for a decent feed. A quick google search for recommended eats in the area brought us to King Tiger. Not only were they highly recommended, the variety of options available impressed us. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated. I loved the variety of the menu, ranging from Indian, Thai, Chinese and a bit of Vietnamese. We ordered our food- I had the Thai chilli basil and my husband had the sweet and sour pork. The servings were decent and satisfied two hungry travellers! I recall looking at my husband after my first bite, saying “yum!”. He too had a similar reaction to his meal. On our second night we were struggling to find another restaurant that appealed to us, of course we decided to dine at King Tiger again. It was nice of the waiter to remember us! This time we ordered the chilli chicken (this was the standout dish), the Thai beef salad (it was your standard Thai beef salad but good nonetheless) and the prawn Tom yum soup. I personally would have liked the soup to be sweeter by adding some pineapples but overall it wasn’t bad. We enjoyed our meal once again. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. There is a very high chance that my husband and I will be dining here again before we leave! 😃

A wonderful atmospheric restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff and great Eastern decor. We had the shitake mushroom steamed dumplings followed by chicken Massaman curry and naan bread. Steamed rice was included free of charge. Beautiful flavoursome food in ample quantity. If we were staying longer we would definitely return for another meal!

Great Indian and Asian food! The staff is friendly and the quantity and quality of food is amazing! The staff was helpful enough to keep the kitchen running a bit later than their closing time. It's recommended to try this restaurant in Frans Joseph!

What a surprise! By this stage of our trip, I was dying for some decent Asian food. Everywhere else we had been in NZ had either been average or the reviews were so bad we didn't even dare try it. We were VERY sceptical at first since the menu showed a fusion of Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisines. But it was my birthday and I was desperate so we took a chance. So glad we did because it was great. My hubby got a Chicken Tikka Masala which he said was the best he's had in years. I got the Tom Yum Soup with Noodles and while I'm not going to say it was the best I've ever had, it certainly hit the spot and the seafood in it was delicious. The Garlic Naan and Thai Crispy Chicken Wings were also very good. Probably give the desserts a skip, they weren't bad or anything but nothing special either. We sat outside on a large bench under the umbrella which was lovely. We actually came back the next night because they're one of the only restaurants open late. Hubby got the exact same thing and I got the Noodle Soup with Chicken (Tom Yum was better). We also got the Fried Pork, Garlic & Chive Dumplings which were amazing. I'm used to pan fried dumplings but these were delicious. Green Beans were also yum but I wish they didn't cut them up so small, took forever to finish haha. Service was very good both nights and King Tiger was definitely one of the highlights of our trip in NZ. Don't miss it!

Pleasantly surprised with the food here. We had chicken in peanut sauce and the tiger fried rice (vegetarian). Both were surprisingly good. $22NZD for each dish. Service was attentive and fast. They also have a happy hour from 5-6 which is $7.50 for craft beers and from 6-7 it's two cocktails for $20. Note that if you ask for the food to be spicy it will actually be spicy- which we were pleased to discover!
