Lovely place for a bite while shopping for some sauces or preserves. Decent amount of parking just outside the store. There’s such a huge variety of sauces, preserves and mixers. Best thing is that you can try almost anything they have when you’re dining in the eatery. Huge counter that has almost all the sauces that you can try. Food is pretty decent too. Definitely worth a visit when in the area.

What an awesome place to eat. Modern near new building with a picturesque outlook, high ceilings creating a light an airy atmosphere. We had the platter for two. Very nice ans just enough food. The beer and wine selection was good but not over the top with too many choices. They also had available all of their pickles and relishes to try with you meal for free as well as free cordials from their range. Service was great, we waited around 15 minutes but they were very busy; worth the wait. Staff were super friendly and tickets clean and tidy. Well done.

📍 Barker's Foodstore & Eatery 📍 Pies in the Display Case! Taste Rating 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗 Hygiene & Cleanliness 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Service Attitude 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Will I Visit Again? 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕 Barker's sauces are quite renowned, and you can find them in most New Zealand supermarkets! But they also have their own café! It's located in a small town near Timaru called Geraldine! The dining space inside is very spacious and incredibly comfortable. Here, you can mix some of Barker's fruit syrups into sparkling water to try out their flavors (see picture two). And after ordering, there's a variety of jams available in the sauce section for you to add to your meal (see picture three). You can also purchase a wide range of sauces here! If you happen to pass through this town, make sure to give it a try!

Awesome shop, there are many flavors of jam and syrup, I bought the ginger beer syrup, the staff told me that it’s so good to add some hot water, thanks for advice, I definitely will try it.

Had a stopover here from Mt Cook to Christchurch and it was an absolute gem. The scones with whipped cream and raspberry spread was fantastic. Kids enjoyed mixing the different syrups. The shop was also great for gifts for friends. Will definitely recommend.

We had the best experience here. It was busy but not too busy. Very nice staff. Good coffee but even more so an abundance of nice food and pastries. The shop with local products was filled with fairly priced products. If only we were allowed to take food on the plane we would have definitely bought some. Also kid friendly with some toys and high seeds. Highly recommended.

We booked lunch here for a group of 25. Communication was excellent, and when we arrived everything was ready to go. The lunch was really tasty, and they catered well for those in our group with dietary requirements. We also ordered gift boxes of Barkers preserves and they were beautifully presented. They even personalised their labels so everyone had chutney with their name on it, which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend - faultless!
