Had a lovely dinner at The Marina in Gisborne last Saturday night and can only but say we will be back... the entree of prawns is highly recommended with the bisque sauce being the star...(asked for the recipe 😉)... partner Kevin Boynton had the fish of the day and the smile on the dial was priceless... I chose the Duck dish and it was cooked to perfection..all consumed with the liquor flavoured champagne made the night all the more enjoyable.... highly recommended... thank you to all the floor staff directed by Caroline for being diligent but not intrusive....Marion Hill

What a great experience, from meeting Caroline to discuss our needs for our celebration, to arriving on the night to see the special attention to detail, that you'd gone to, over and above the usual, to help us share in our family occasion. The service was excellent, the food beautiful and the whole evening was absolutely fabulous...even the Aucklander's among us were impressed!

Great revamp of the old Marina Restaurant into the Globe. Love the outdoor area with its own bar, spacious sitting and wonderful views.
Bar snacks and drinks out in the bar and full menu indoor and veranda. Nice sharing plates and you need a few to fill up if coming for a meal. Tasty and well cooked plates, although do be aware of the smaller sizes. A teeny bit pricey but worth it!
Great location, prices very reasonable, food amazing, and cocktails even better! Really lovely customer service from the front of house staff. Restaurant was clean and warm too. Great place to go to eat and socialise with a group of friends! Highly recommend.
The food was amazing here, absolutely loved the caviche and the creme brûlée! The service was quick which was nice but a little cold. Definitely highly recommended this place though
Hidden gem of Gizzy, food is delicious and location by the river is cherry on the top. Must recommend 👍🏻👍🏻

Just had a catch up outdoors at this venue, haven't yet experienced the dining. But for outdoors grabbing a drink and having a catchup, this outdoor bar thing was great, and the staff member was very attentive to our needs - ordering, tidying up the table and even deploying umbrellas when the weather decided to turn. Recommended.

Grandparents, daughter and toddler went for an early evening shared meal, absolutely loved it! Something for everyone - single serves of cuisine from around the world so buy lots of different plates and split the bill. Great atmosphere. Can't wait for summer to enjoy the beer garden again!

We have been there with a rude friend, who said things like portions are too small to the owner. The portions are not small. Regular for a high end restaurant where it is assumed that you'll start with an entree, then the main and a desert. The meat was delicious. Ambience was nice. But they made us sit by the door, and it was very cold.
This place has everything. Beautiful dining room, lovely welcoming staff and outstanding food. We have been to many restaurants in our life and this one is right up there with the best we have been too. Had our 25th wedding anniversary here and certainly will come back when in town next time
Outstanding food, Impeccable service, wonderful staff. We had my mother's surprise 60th there this year and Caroline could not have done more to make it easy for us. She went well above and beyond. The food was incredible and they catered for various diet restrictions and allergies with ease. The Marina is by far Gisborne's best restaurant.
A couple of cheeky cocktails and some tapas... 10/10 .. Just be warned this isn't a place to get a fat steak or chicken fettuccine... Their tapas selection is just perfect a little something for everyone... I literally can't wait to go back... This is just what Gisborne needs to complement the rest of our fabulous eateries... Well done team...
